Final body found by divers after superyacht sank off Sicily coast

- A body believed to be that of Mike Lynch's 18-year-old daughter has been located in the wreckage of a luxury yacht off the coast of Sicily.
It means all missing passengers have now been found on the Bayesian.
Mr Lynch, his daughter Hannah, Morgan Stanley International bank chairman Jonathan Bloomer, his wife Judy Bloomer, Clifford Chance lawyer Chris Morvillo and his wife Neda Morvillo were lost when the yacht sank during a storm on Monday.

No matter rich or poor, drowning in darkness is the worst. Being trapped in darkness in water with no way out. May their souls be at peace now.
Those divers have done such a good job in dangerous and traumatic circumstances. Bless them. A very sad outcome for all concerned and the families left behind.

It takes good strong individuals to undertake difficult tasks especially when recovering bodies in challenging circumstances. Let’s keep in mind that there is no place for DEI when it comes to marine salvage, life saving and recovery. The sea is a monster which cannot be tamed, my hat off to all the rescue and salvage people in the industry, without them especially lifeboat rescue, we will all be at the mercy of the waves. The energy of the sea can never be underestimated.

If yall saw how dark and windy it was, and how turbulent the waves were in the video of the boat capsizing, only 6 dying is honestly a miracle. Even a mom with a little baby survived who held her baby above her head as she sucked in water and tried to stay afloat. Those people’s superpowers kicked in. But RIP to those who didn’t make it.

What Storm? It was a tenth of an inch of rain and 8 mph winds. That's a drizzle and a slight gust.
Lynch was celebrating his court win against HP, found not guilty on 15 counts.
His partner Chamberlain, was also found not guilty on all counts. Chamberlain died 2 days before Lynch, being struck by a car while running.
These people did not meet their end by accident.

There were seven people lost in this tragedy. The only survivors out of the 22 people onboard were the fifteen who were rescued the night of the incident. The chef was found the following day and the other six were found over the next few days.
It was seven that died.
The divers have done a great job my God bless everybody ! & the baby what a story !

Amazing job by the Italian Coast Guard and Firefighters. Retrieving six bodies from that type of ship at a depth of 164 ft in such a short time is a great example of professionalism and skill.

What I think is tragic, but certainly interesting, about this crash is the following report from 'The Truth about Cancer' dated Aug. 17:
"On Friday, August 9, 2024, in a shocking tragedy that has raised more questions than answers, Flight 2283, operated by VoePass Airlines, carrying 62 passengers, crashed 50 miles northwest of São Paulo, Brazil, killing all on board, including six oncologists, two resident doctors, and a prominent attorney who was known for suing airlines. According to Daily Mail, there were initially fifteen doctors who had been scheduled to take the two-hour doomed flight, but seven took an earlier plane.
The doctors on board, who dedicated their lives to battling cancer and researching the controversial link between mRNA vaccines and aggressive "turbo cancers," were en route to an international oncology conference in São Paulo. The group included renowned radiologist Leano Ferrera and pediatric cancer experts Sarah Stella and Silvia Osaki, who were allegedly prepared to present groundbreaking evidence linking the COVID-19 mRNA shots to an increase in autoimmune diseases and aggressive cancers."
Lessons to be leaarned:
1 - Pay close attention to the weather while anyone is on the boat and be prepared to respond to changes in the weather at a moment's notice.
2 - Muster all passengers and crew to emergency locations on the vessel during severe weather and ensure that everyone onboard is equipped with a personal flotation device and locator beacon..
3 - Secure all hatches and windows, especially, watertight doors.
4 - Lower the retractable keel to increase vessel stability.

Be weather ready , is a good sum up. But it seems there is also a design flaw if the boat is knocked flat it can't right itself big problems from there.
@@andrewashmore8000 The boat was forcefully moved on water, and it can turn, or be moved in different ways on its own because it had the ability to still move on water even if it was not moving. Design flaws is what comes to my mind with having a bad captain, and this is why people died!

@@andrewashmore8000 The retractable keel was in the retracted position, which placed the center of gravity for the vessel above the waterline. This resulted in an unstable vessel that could easily be pushed over by a waterspout. This was a decision made by the captain, not the boat manufacturer.
@@richardowens9061 it seems it was normal practise to have the keel up while at anchor, the keel seems to be only used rarely while under sail. So that indicates the vessel was comfortable without the keel down. In hindsight the keel should have been down , but also if a boat gets flattened it should not sink so quickly.
The captain is facing a serious investigation by Italian authorities. Obviously he did not prepare for a significant storm forecast. All but one crew member made it off the boat.
It was the chef's body that was found?
I think it should also be whoever made the boat. Because there is blame to be shared!
If I was on the boat then I would have seen any noticeable flaws it had, and I believe it had flaws based on what happened to the people, so blame can be shared!
@@knowledgeandmultiskilled The hatches may have been left open, which in a storm wouldn't take much to sink her. They will also examine whether the yacht's retractable keel, which adds extra stability and acts as a counterweight to the mast, were deployed. Those would be user errors rather than build errors.

@@beasmith1 Build errors is more important to examine than user errors. User errors exist such as not knowing anything about the weather while boating. For sure users can make other errors!
Some people drowned to death because their boat was flooded, and sank. Water was not redirected out of their boat, and I am going to assume only 1 anchor was used, and I don't know if the proper type of anchor was used, and this is why the boat was moved the wrong way, and water flooded, and sank their boat.
I seen this happen before when only 1 anchor is used, and a boat got repositioned on water then ended up where it should not be.
The divers, the first vessel on scene which rescued the 15 survivors, the Italian Coastguard, the Vigili del Fuoco,, and all involved in the rescue/recovery operation did a fantastic job under tragic and very difficult circumstance,

Stabbing in Liverpool a few hours ago… two women seen the whole thing and even got it on record. A foreign man tries stabbing teens but falls onto his own knife and now is being treated… don’t hear this on the news.

@@srenheidegger4417 Every person working on that boat was happy to be there and satisfied with their compensation. The captain's salary, alone, is likely $150k per year and even the entry level positions on the boat likely pay over $40k per year.

If God were inclined to bless them, would he not have blessed them by preventing the tragedy in the first place? One is forced to wonder why a benevolent God would allow such things to happen.
A vessel of this type would only sink if it were driven onto a rock by the storm or if one or more portholes or doors were left open. There are no reefs or rocks near where the vessel was anchored.

It's not simple to remove bodies from a sunken vessel . It takes several stages to extract the body from the ship , then to the surface . A dive team will generally not be able to extract body when it is initially found
it was supposed to be unsinkable.there's no such thing as indestructible.
This whole story is just so sad.
I am not remotely interested in who might be to blame. I am sure that lessons will be learnt from this, but I don't boat, so the cause does not matter for me.
I am relieved that the last casualty has been found. The wait for this must have been horrible for the friends and family.
It is hard to escape the thought that the real heroes in this are the recovery divers. Brave beyond what anyone has any right to expect.

Builder saying crew left doors open that's why it sank, divers had to break in through a port hole, their is a video from NZ of what looks like a very similar yacht at night same lights on the mask same thing quick squall out of no where the yacht laid on it's side then popped straight back up again took seconds. The captain of the huge yacht moored near by interviewed on TV who rescued the 15 out of the water had no problem at all with his yacht in the squall. Design fault .

Dead bodies? Ive seen them in the roads after car accidents mangled to hell so cant even be close to seeing just a complete dead body in a boat.
The captain and crew could not be arsed to keep an eye on the weather. And left in a lifeboat, leaving the passengers on the boat to go down with it.Or swim. Including a one year old baby. FACT.

I will add with modern navigation aids the person on duty at the helm would have at least an hour in regard to the weather pattern for the area where this vessel was at the time plenty of time to put safety procedures in place ?????
Thank Deity Hannah has been found, it allows closure, (not great news but better than the unknown) as a family member of someone lost at sea and never found, It gives great mind games in your head, of are they really gone, Along with the legalities of nothing can be done for seven years until declared deceased
