Benelli TRK 502 X - 15 Teeth Front Sprocket

  • The Benelli TRK 502 X has from stock a relatively short short gear ratio:
    - TRK 502 X - 14Front & 44 Rear
    - Normal TRK 502 - 14F & 42R
    On this video we are going to change the front sprocket from the stock 14teeth to 15 teeth that roughly is equivalent to having a 41 teeth rear sprocket.

    Boas, estou a pensar fazer a mesma alteração na minha Leoncino, mas ainda estou indeciso, acredito que o pinhão de 14 é porreiro para curtir umas estracinhas e serras mas na Auto-estrada era porreiro que baixasse um bocadinho as rotações se calhar até ter mais um bocadinho de velocidade de ponta.

    • @WolfMates
      @WolfMates  Před 2 lety

      Olá :) é uma boa alteração e acho que vale a pena experimentares principalmente se não andas com pendura ou muito carregado :) fica excelente para auto estradas e aquelas nacionais que nunca mais acabam. Baixa um pouco o consumo neste caso. Na montanha e cidade fica um pouco longa demais e aqui até pode consumir um pouco mais mas nada de especial. Penso que a leocino tenha a tranismissão igual à TRK de estrada (14/42) logo 15/42 fica semelhante a 14/39,5 como eu tinha na TRK normal que tive antes da X. A velocidade de ponta superior, talvez em pequenas descidas... Abraço e boas curvas!

    @ruipinto2657 Před rokem

    Boas! Existe alguma diferença no curso do seletor de mudanças entre a TRK e a TRK X? Parece-me que, na TRK X, o curso é mais longo para engatar a primeira, mas é igual para as restantes... Podes-me confirmar se é assim realmente? Obg! Excelentes vídeos!

    • @WolfMates
      @WolfMates  Před rokem

      Olá Rui :) A mecânica a nivel do motor é igual. Apenas difere a cremalheira traseira que é 42 dentes na normal e 44 na X :) O que pode acontecer é que o pedal aceita afinação (Tem vários dentes) o que se calhar aconteceu foi que experimentou uma que tinha o pedal afinado noutra posição. Obrigado e boas curvas :)

    hello lonely wolf. I am from Greece, Thessaloniki
    and I have the trk502x of 21.
    I'm thinking of changing the gear to 15 as I do not drive off-road.
    what consumption do you see approximately after the change ?? has it fallen ?? and how many kilometers does the tank fill up?
    I drive almost 85 kilometers every day for my work on the highway

    • @WolfMates
      @WolfMates  Před 2 lety +2

      Hello Dimitris! :) Nice 21 version is beautiful! What colour you have? Yes if you do alot of highway i realy recomend the 15teeth sprocket. You will see a bit of reduction on the fuel consuption. My maximum range was 550km on one tank ridding very relaxed at about 80kph. In the highway at 100kph it should go 450-500 :) Give it a try you will like it :) Cheers to Greece, Thessaloniki! :)

    Excellent vid!!
    I also have a 2021 TRK (non-X).
    Just finished a big (5000km/60,000meters of vertical) ride but mostly secondary roads. For the time I was on REAL motorways, it felt very buzzy at speed. A 500rpm drop would be awesome. However, my upcoming trip is 80% very technical roads/twisties and probably about the same vertical. Am I going to lose too much torque for that kind of adventure?
    Perhaps hold off until I am doing a proper "road trip"?
    Brilliant instructional video. Much appreciated!

      @WolfMates  Před 2 lety

      Thank you so much! :) I would say if you are planning real mountain roads like Stelvio I with full cases or Pillion I would keep the original sprockets. That being said, I went with my previous TRK (road version as well) to Picos de Europa in Spain with 14/39 ( 3 cases, no pillion) and it was no problem :) I had to go to first gear a couple of times but not problem! :) You can see that trip on my channel for reference :) It was nice on the highway tho! hehe Cheers!

    I went up a tooth on my CB500F.
    I went from 15 to 16 tooth, this reduced how much I got per tank of fuel by approximately 20 to 30km.
    now these are two different bikes I get that but principle is the same.
    the up side us my bike doesn't rev so hard on the open road and my 5th gear is like 6th.
    if yr looking at doing this then do it.
    I am waiting for the 800 to be released in New Zealand

    Hi. I got a 21 TRK 502 sp. Really have strong vibration on the bike when it hits high rpm. I got a few question though.
    1) If i change the front sprocket with 15T do i also need to change the chain and rear sprocket?
    2) Can the 15T match with 41T or 42T in the rear?

    • @WolfMates
      @WolfMates  Před rokem

      Hello! If you change to 15T you might need a new chain. depends how worn it is. However you should always swap everything at the same time to maximize longevity.

    Interesting quest for less revs. I've always used sprockets with less teeth (1 or 2) for more instant accelaration. Not on the Transalp 600, though, as the better "Superpinione" sprocket from Italy was only available with stock 15 teeth.
    Hope your petrol consumption comes down in Spain. Cheers from Günter, Nürnberg/Germany

    • @x_Paulo_Nogueira_x
      @x_Paulo_Nogueira_x Před 3 lety +5

      Well less rev doesnt mean, a better driving experience :)
      I tested all the possible variations (tiill 15/42), and hes org one 14/44 its the best for the TRK.
      Placing a 15/44 will lower the rev on higway, but will force you to use loads more clutch and 1st gear
      Not mention that the loss of torque its very noticible on overtaiking other cars.
      (and he will screw up all the offroad :D )

      @@x_Paulo_Nogueira_x As I said, I usually put a tooth less on the front sprocket, which rises revs, but the bike pulls better. I like that. The downside: Fuel conspumption increases by about 0,3 l per 100 km. Cheers, Günter
