Good input. Very thoughtful comments. The propriety H rails were one of the things that moved me toward the Native. I just visited Rock town last week to look at the 12.5.
Both great yaks, not even an owner of either but the hobie seems to have so much more deck space if that’s what someone wants.
Thanks man for the comparison.. native titan x.. let's gooooo....now I just need the $$$
Nice video. I’m a Pro Angler guy and came from a Native Titan. When i saw the X it was intriguing but the hobie drive itself for me beats the titan. The storage inside the hull is a much bigger deal for me than i thought. Some things on the X like the battery storage would be nice but my biggest complaint i had with my Titan was the thru hull rudder. Just wasn’t a fan of it. If someone could combine the two together it would be the perfect fishing kayak. 😂
it would be cool to see the hobie drive in the titan
Hobie > native. Natives are cool if you wanna be in ankle deep water just by sitting in the kayak.
Xi3 on the hobie is front-end heavy. I came from pa14. Once you experience it on the X. It is much more stable with the Xi3. Put the scuffer in halfway when you have the Xi3. I 100% like it more than the pa14. Wouldn't of thought that, but it's a great yak the X is.
This is what I want to hear!
Really good side-by-side walkthrough. (Only two statements I thought were off were the length and weight capacities - but anyone buying would look up the mfr's specs). Again, well done!
Thank you!
I own the PA 14 and love it. A buddy of mine has the titan and it always has water in it. I also prefer the drive system. Also, most of us run a motor in the back and there are mounts and foot steering that make it super sweet.
Paying hobie money to throw a trolling motor on it? why get a hobie then? Theres a thousand better options
@@MrHamburgerler A stern mounted motor helps cover water and with foot controls is hands free. I fish bass tournament and the majority of the field uses electric motors. I still use my rudder and mirage drive.
Natives are like sitting in a kiddie pool fishing
The rudder issue shouldn't be a problem once you get wheels on it. I'll take the instant reverse titan all day.
Native took a lot of ideas from nucanoe unlimited. Great kayak
The rudder thing is not the best. I put the sidekicks on it. Helps 100%. It's worth the money.
Would the native titan be good on saltwater
Hobie Pro Angler 14 holds 600lbs not what you stated 360 ....
Great review! Wouldn’t you want a kayak trailer instead of throwing it in the back of the truck?
I have a trailer when I travel. I usually just wheel it out back tho
Pretty soon fishing yaks will be so big they'll call them bass boats.
The drive is pretty important.
Yep, love the Hobie drive, and the PA14.
Everybody has tons of gear, poles, batteries, tackle boxes ,tackle, very unnecessary, never a fish box, tank wells are always full of bags and boxes. Never a gaff holder. The most important thing on a kayak is open space. To move around. Stability. Place to put your fish. And a fat rudder so you can steer when you're on the water.
Came from a PA 12 360 to a titan x 12.5. Hobie is great but there's really no comparison. Never like the H-rails. Too high and you have to buy lots of extras just to mount stuff. Stability is night and day better on the Native.
How much for da hobie
3,500

Sidekick is junk....roll pins bend.
Just look around and you will see sidekicks with one wheel lower than the other. A cart with 2 inch center pvc bunks at 8 inch on center is a superior solution.
Ordered the Titan X 12.5 in the grey color. When will you have a on the water video up?
Just put one up today
Prepare to be disappointed
I guess what makes you say that? Just wondering.
@@basserbestt4063 Natives are great! I have both as well, but the hobie is a better boat. hows that new seat working out?
@@gabrielm.4554 so far no issues with my seat. It’s one of the biggest things I like so far. I like how high I sit and how I am able to rotate around to get things behind me. The drive in the hobie is superior. The speed is better on the hobie, and the weight. My biggest gripe about the native is the weight.
@@basserbestt4063 thats a heavy boy
I've been kayaking for a very long time and I have learned less is better. You roll over in the water you wanna be able to get back in. And if you drag your fish over the side of the boat expect to see sharks. Not kidding
Jeez where's the stereo and speakers. Putting a boat like that on the ocean would be dangerous, Or the simple fact you have tons of tackle and you would be digging in the box is all the time and not paying attention to the swells, I don't believe kayaks are meant to be floating stores.
