    I DO like to press after I have sewn that first big, long seam on the jelly roll race quilt. It is easier to press when there is only one seam, and once you have that big, long seam all pressed, most of your pressing is done! I do not like to drag the entire un-pressed quilt to the ironing board and try to press all the seams at once. Even though you often want to "race" to get the whole thing sewn, stopping at that point to press that big seam prevents a lot of frustration later.

      Great suggestion! I agree, pressing one seam is alot more manageable than 30 small ones. Thanks for sharing. 💙🎉💙

      I agree completely! I also prefer to pre as I’m sewing whatever that might be.

    Just wanted to say “hello” as I just found your videos (and subscribed immediately!!!) - the words “jelly roll” caught my attention as I love precuts! I’m my head I’m trying to,work out what size quilt I’d end up with from a half jelly roll (20 strips = about 800 inches. I’ll work out the math when I finish watching all your videos! Oh, about the half jelly rolls - I thought these would make nice smaller quilts for my guild’s charity (children in crisis). I’m very excited to get back to the videos! Thanks!!!!!

    I just found you. I’m a bag maker starting quilting again after so many years. I’ve only made about 2 and both are runners. I am working on a lap quilt and hoping to make a jelly roll race. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.

    When sewing the long strip you don’t have to worry about the twisting, because once you get to the end you have to cut the strip, which un twists it.

    It May be that the strips will be sewn together in 45 minutes, but the quilt will not be finished in that time. That being said I do enjoy your tutorials.

    • @TrueBlueQuilts

    Hi, that last block, the measurements should be 8 and a half, not 6 and a half. Do like the different ways to use strips, and the fact you make your own.

    • @TrueBlueQuilts
      @TrueBlueQuilts  Před rokem +2

      Good catch! The Framed 4-patch will finish at 8 1/2 inches when using jelly roll strips. Thanks for watching and clarifying that for everyone. Happy Quilting!
