I play at county level - only just - and there's nothing more frustrating than when you're hitting 100+'s all night, and then taking more than 6 darts at a double. It wrecks your averages, but more importantly, it costs you matches!

Richie was and still is a great dart thrower but everything has changed in darts and it is becoming a fit man's game and he has not got youth on his side although when things are going right for richie he plays the crowd and is a true entertainer

I would agree with you it is a demanding sport now but some of the players are doing the work and are mentally fit but the averages and the way the game has progressed no one will dominate the sport a bounce out amissed chance can cost a player because the top 32 players can throw 100plus advergaces

The reason I commented on richie is he was a brilliant player in the bdo he is a nervous guy like Alex higgins was but was an entertainer old school where he would do an exhibition and it would end up costing him because he got to involved but if his talent could have been managed he would still be in the top 32

I do talk from experience in this. It's like your mind is playing a trick on you. You go to let the dart go and then you cant like a practice swing just like a golfer. But I am only a bedroom player still infuriating. But he keeps fighting away and at that level somewhere in side him hes still got that winning mentality that's why he beats him self up. My opinion offcourse. Am sure Eric bristow ended up suffering from this thats what made him retire.

Moaning and groaning as if doubles are supposed to go in? Some of these old school players (who I grew up on) have incredible ability but the emotional maturity of an 8 year old.
