    Hi Deva! Which are the top 3 best colleges would students in general view? based on rumors, honest opinion or inside-info? And also, if you don't mind me asking, are you a Pearson scholar? thanks!

    • @DevajyotiChakraborty
      @DevajyotiChakraborty  Před 3 lety

      Hey, your college is really a personal decision and does not matter that much. Just remember that you are graduating from the University of Toronto and not a college. Also, I am not a Pearson scholar, however I recently made a video about that with the help of a scholar and will be posting it soon!

    Great video. Which would be the best college for an international student interested in doing physics major with a minor in astrophysics?

      There is no one best college. I would advise you to go through the college website to see which community would be the best fit for your personality. In terms of your academics, you can successfully pursue a physics degree from any one of the colleges. The main role of the college is to provide your dorm/residence and is usually the place you meet your first friends. However, most people reach out to other communities through the wide variety of clubs and activities across campus. You will be studying under the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, this faculty is well-connected across St.George campus.

    Hello, I have a few questions, appreciate if anyone can answer... Will a student with an IB background be able to cope with the rigours of a computer science program? Also can anyone advise which of the 7 colleges have a higher focus on Computer science? Which campus has the best food options? Which campus has the best communities?

    • @DevajyotiChakraborty
      @DevajyotiChakraborty  Před 3 lety

      I would say that an IB program provides adequate preparation to deal with academic rigors of UofT. I have only stayed at the St.George campus so I can not say much about the other 2 campuses. I am not sure there is any college that has a higher focus on CS

    Hi hope you are doing well I have some questions . What do students actually do in these colleges? Are all the classes in one college or not . What I mean by this is that for example you want to study biology in the second year and you have to take biology courses and chemistry courses for that, are all these courses in the same building or not? Cause I want to go to new college but I found nothing about biology and I’m a lottttt confused 🤷🏽‍♀️. I don’t get what are colleges for (commuting )

    • @DevajyotiChakraborty
      @DevajyotiChakraborty  Před 2 lety

      These courses don’t depend on the colleges.
      College is mostly a place for your residence

    Do any of the colleges have more commuting students rather than residents?

    • @DevajyotiChakraborty
      @DevajyotiChakraborty  Před 3 lety

      I am not sure about that. I think the university tries to balance between all types of students that attend a certain college. You will find commuter students in all colleges. However, due to the difference in the number of students at each college, some will definitely have more commuter students.

      try to get your best in term 2 board exams as that is the main academic score they consider. try some minor extracurriculars that don't take up a lot of time like social service at an NGO. essays play a major role so maintain your vocabulary and fluency while writing essays or giving a virtual interview. even if your stats aren't that good, presenting yourself decently can increase your chances drastically. if you manage to average in each of these domains, you may get in! All the best!!

    So is it that certain colleges usually have students of the same program? If so, which college would you say has the most Psych students?

    • @DevajyotiChakraborty
      @DevajyotiChakraborty  Před 4 lety +1

      Jessica it’s not like that, all colleges have sort of an even distribution of students, although Woodsworth is sometimes thought of as the Rotman College, officially there are records that UofT release. According to their website, they attempt to evenly distribute students from all different programs

      Devajyoti Chakraborty Also how important do you think living in residence is? Commute to UofT would take about an hour for me so it’s obviously closer than other students, but I’ve also never experienced living that far away from school (my old elementary school and high school are like a 10min walk away max).
