    I just installed the adjuster on my 2018 Tour. Last fall, I had Max do the suspension and thought it was a bit rough on small sharp bumps like highway expansion joints. Otherwise, the suspension was marvelous. It is hard to describe how much better it handles, even in a parking lot at walking speed (quite the surprise but very clear from the first ride). I'm about 175 lbs. and mostly ride solo. By softening that initial bit of travel, the bike now performs exactly as I was hoping. It made a big difference and clearly worth the small PITA to install. If you have Max's suspension and want it just a bit softer, this is your answer. Five stars.

    I’m 195lbs and I only ride 1 up so I’m good with the stock configuration. I appreciate you continuously thinking of ways to make our bikes better.

    Great video. I found that when working in tight spots on the bike, using a 1/4 inch drive ratchet is helpful.

    I have a 2021 DCT Tour. I'm 6'4" and 250lbs (all muscle...lol) Had Max upgrade front & rear suspension & add this little gem's prototype version on for me. Works like a charm. Had to crank it up a bit more for my liking. I ride solo & am a moderately aggressive rider. I regretted my GW purchase because the stock suspension continuously bottomed out and made the bike squirrelly AF in bumpy cornering. After the upgrade, it's a new bike & definitely worth the cost for me. Can't stay off the damn thing now. Damn you Max McAllister...damn you :-)

    Really cool . Love it . I’m going to sit on the fence for a while and c if the electronic thing happens or not . My question the other day has been clearly answered. I’m enjoying the new suspension and everything you all did to my bike . It’s so much better . Hello to you all and can’t wait to come back and spend some more of this money I keep attracting . I’m going out now to ride my bike some more . O everyone I show is quite impressed with what you all do

    i recently installed this kit for a customer at our dealership. A warning to any Jr techs out there if you are installing this at a shop be sure to get a release of liability. Max fails to mention in this video that the reason Honda went to computer-controlled suspension dampening is to compensate for the change in shift points and torque curve between the various drive modes.

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  Před 10 měsíci

      The "computer controlled suspension" has no effect. I detail this in several videos back in 2018.

    • @thesnail4671
      @thesnail4671 Před 10 měsíci

      @Traxxion maybe, I've never tested it however thats not what Honda says. As a shop, though, if we modify the way something works according to the owners manual and service information I get from Honda, we need a release of liability.

    Hello Max. I have been watching your videos on the 2018-2022 Honda Goldwing and I have to say you are doing a very thorough job in pointing out all the shortcomings of this bike. Let me run down the short list:
    1 - the steering tie rods are inferior cremating sloppy handle bars.
    2 - The steering spindle is made of the wrong material and Honda’s torque value to this part is wrong causing this part to potentially break requiring the purchase of your safety pin
    3 - The rear shock adjuster is basically inaccurate. This you have addressed with your manual adjuster which requires removing the seat to operate. I owned a 2016 BMW R1200 RT that had a suspension system that was adjusted very much like the Honda’s and it was just fine.
    4 - Changing the air cleaner is a quite a chore because of the poor design by Honda. I can attest to that as I once owned a 2007 GL1800.
    5 - The left hand saddle bag is deformed and Honda will not warranty it.
    Now I’m sure there are other issues. About the only thing easy to do on this bike is changing the battery. Ask me how I know that? Now I realize that is no perfect motorcycle however You have brought to light many issues that I would consider major.
    This leads me to ask one question: Why would I spend 30K on a bike with so many issues unresolved by the manufacturer?

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  Před rokem +3

      Because there is nothing else on Earth that even remotely competes with it on any level. The problems listed can be fixed for free or very little money, so it's not really that big of a deal to just fix them, and then enjoy the bike!

    Hi Max, purchased your front spring for my 2022 Goldwing CSC Encore Trike. What a difference steering is, accurate and smooth with no bottoming out at all. Now that the rear suspension adjuster has failed due to the pump actuator motor failure, the icon is stuck on setting 2up. I am looking seriously at your manual preload adjuster. May need some advice on how to get the icon level back down to 1up before tackling the modification. As a trike all parts are easier to get to lol.

    I’m in the waiting to get your front and rear shocks due to my wife and my bad backs as well as improving the obvious shortcomings of the stock systems. Am I thinking correctly that I will get a better ride adding this also and would it be to a Tourer’s shock added?

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, we use this on the Tour models... the Standard has a manual adjuster already, although it is limited to 8mm of range.

  • @ericd701
    @ericd701 Před 2 lety +2

    My 2022 gold wing has 33 total clicks on the manual adjuster so i don't know if the previous settings are aligned with the current suspension.

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  Před 2 lety

      The manual adjuster has 8mm of preload range. So there is no correlation with the 0-25 scale.

    • @Traxxion
      @Traxxion  Před 2 lety

      Not so much... you already have a manual adjuster... but it has 8mm of range, not the possible 12mm of the Tour model. But that should be pretty good. It would be a lot of work to change it all just to get 12mm of range adjustment.
