It is like he does not need to make himself big, because he WAS big. Big enough to matter. When you are the real deal you can afford to be humble and soft-spoken.

      He knows what he’s doing. It’s mental warfare still. Not acknowledging or verifying one of these guys is more insulting than anything.
      However, after watching 100s of hours of interviews with mob guys, the big flaw I’ve heard is how many made guys there would be in a family at a time. We’re talking in the 1000’s. That’s why so many guys got killed. They were always doing each other wrong on accident I feel. It’s highly likely that in a city as large as NYC, it would be nearly impossible to know every guy. I think some of these guys insert more well known gangsters into their stories even if they briefly met a guy maybe 1 or 2 times. It may have been a big deal for them to know Micheal and not really the other way around.

    There have been people throughout history that have been known to be skilled at telling spectacular lies. Gianni Russo is one of those people. I mean we know they are lying but they make it so interesting that it becomes entertaining for us.

      In fairness, he didn't really go after him. He simply told the truth. To any person with even the slightest ability to discern fact from fiction, Gianni Russo is "like a comedic actor." He didn't even give me the impression that he dislikes him. As it is with a lot of people, they just accept Gianni as the man who caught the fish that just keeps getting bigger and bigger. At this point, it's part of his charm.
      They did sum up Gianni's life in one story though: Patrick: "He spoke very highly of your pops." Michael (totally sincerely and without hesitation): "I doubt if my father ever met him."

      @@riverdean7 He was on a Gotti surveillance video where he was hanging on Jr's balls. Sr. walked by him like he didn't exist. Sr was one of the most surveilled Mobsters in the US. Shouldn't Aliar be in more videos than one since he claims that he was Gotti's bodyguard/hitman? You and I could have made it in one of those videos if we stood on the same sidewalk where Gotti was. When Aliar showed that video. One of the guys Aliar said was in that video, died years before that video was dated.

    I think half life 2 will be released before the Franzese/Gravano sitdown.
    Micheal really fascinates me, he has lived such a life and has really seen it all. I find people who become famous or well known have a darker than normal past. It's almost like you need to have fallen tremendously to be allowed to rise.

    For you people saying Gianni is full of it! I know a ton of people personally in Hollywood and LA, and have done interviews way back when I first started doing radio and producing shows with some pretty connected people and they mentioned him! Sopranos actor Steve Schirripa worked for Gianni back in the day and knows all these people in Vegas and backs up a lot Gianni statements.
