Julia Cameron, author of The Artist's Way, shares wisdom and practices from her new book, Write for Life: Creative Tools for Every Writer. Purchase the book here: banyen.com/item/3Czr8TaWU9992...
In her internationally bestselling book, The Artist’s Way, Julia Cameron shared with her millions of readers the three main tools needed to unlock creativity. Now, in her revolutionary new book, Living the Artist’s Way, Cameron finally reveals the vital fourth Artist’s Way tool that she relies upon daily to find creative inspiration: writing for guidance.
Julia Cameron, hailed by the New York Times as “The Queen of Change,” is credited with starting a movement in 1992 that has brought creativity into the mainstream conversation-in the arts, in business, and in everyday life. She is the best-selling author of more than fourty books, fiction and nonfiction; a poet, songwriter, filmmaker and playwright. Commonly referred to as “The Godmother” or “High Priestess” of creativity, her tools are based in practice, not theory, and she considers herself “the floor sample of her own toolkit.” The Artist’s Way has been translated into fourty languages and sold over five million copies to date.

Guidance led me to this video.. yesterday I found the Artists Way in an old book store. I read the first chapter and wrote this morning my first morning pages. And a beautiful ‘coincidence’ occured this morning. Flabbergasted.. but hey I think guidance is waiting for me to start living my artistic self / soul. I feel very gratefull to hear Julia herself here. Timeless. Feeling connection with you in this conversation.
Thank you both so much! 🙏
    Love from The Netherlands. ❤️

Joel's handwriting is so tidy! haha. My hand begins to really hurt when I am writing the Morning Pages. My fingers seem to go numb. I had to 'cheat' recently and type. I chose a font as close to handwriting as possible. I will buy a uniball pen now and see how I get on with it. I love Julia's gentle laid back style. I've just completed a six-week BookClub hosted by Alternatives - via Zoom - on her latest book being discussed here, "Living the Artist's Way" and loved it.
I appreciate all the questions asked during this recording. They have answered all of mine. I find the descriptions in Julia's latest book poetic as well as accessible, filled with lots of practical exercises.
Every day I look forward now to the Morning Pages. They are indeed an adventure. As is asking for Guidance. Thanks Julia and Joel for a great interview. And hello to Banyan Books. I used to hang out there so often when I lived in Vancouver. I found it so healing just being in there and every visit ended with a purchase! I now reside in England and have for many years. Wonderful to be reminded of Banyan Books. 🌼🍃🌺
