In September, 1991, when Freddie was dying, she recorded the arias and played it for him over the phone. He said it was how he had always dreamed of hearing it sung. What a fantastic Phantom he would have been! Would you ever consider trying to put Freddie’s voice to “The Music of the Night?”
I'd heard that Andrew Lloyd Webber had asked Freddie if he'd do Phantom and he declined because of the work he was doing with Queen. ALW then asked Michael Crawford who accepted.
I knew from the moment it started it was not Pavarotti but a well done cover. Mr.Martel's cover of Freddie Mercury's participation was a very good attempt. You an only imagine what the real duet would have been like. Well done, Marc Martel!
