  • Join Josh and Rob as they walk through a scene shot entirely within a virtual production environment.
    Lauded as the future of filmmaking, this video shows how you can enter the market while remaining on a relatively small budget! This is also one of the first glimpses of our brand new studio space, Racquet Studios, which comes complete with a vast green screen environment and, in the near future, will house a large-scale, permanent LED volume!
    In this piece, we've [beautifully] lit the space with some loaned Godox SL100Bi video lights. We hasten to add that Godox is not a sponsor of this video, nor are we affiliated with the brand beyond receiving the odd review sample on loan.
    We will be demonstrating a broader range of equipment, workflows and results from within the burgeoning world of virtual production as we develop this series on our channel. Starting at the entry level, we will start to step up through various options for your viewing pleasure. The possibilities for filmmakers within this space are truly exciting, so make sure you subscribe and hit the bell to see more.

    Hey, great video! Did you use the Vive pro 2 Kit in this video? And do you recommend it for slow camera movement (because the vive mars kit is too expensive for me). Thanks in advance and keep up this great content!

    Would love to see more tutorials on microbudget virtual production using green screens and accessible affordable equipment, particularly with regard to live action actors using real-world looking UE virtual sets like living rooms, apartments, kitchens and such. One question I had was how did you extend the sci-fi buildings in your demo scene above the actual green screen? Were you able to key out the walls and set without green screen?

      We plan on making more videos like this so watch this space! And for your question about the set extension we didn't go into much detail in this video but we used a garbage matte technique in unreal where you model a rough approximation of your green screen (you can see this briefly at 2:54 , the white rectangles) and tell it to only display the video feed within that range, you can also render out alpha passes using this aswell in the movie render queue.

      I second this! :) I got the Blackmagic Decklink Mini Recorder 4K and Elgato PCI Pro MK2. Not sure which one will work better.

    8:02 recording motion, can you give more detail how you did that? Is it done on camera when recording video?

    • @PhotoBiteUK
      @PhotoBiteUK  Před rokem

      Motion Data is recorded in Unreal along side filming the greenscreen footage straight to camera, there is a few ways to do this... for this shoot we added our trackers into the Take Recorder plugin for the ability to play back the movements after filming that way we can adjust the 3D scene (lighting, props animations) render out new background videos and just resync the 3D with the Green screen footage in an editing suite.

    which GPU r u using?

      My Personal Rig seen in the video is a Nvidia 2070 Super which is just about enough power for this green screen work flow. But for our larger productions we use a 3090 in our production rig.

    All that space and you walk right next to the screen casting a shadow that makes chroma keying a pain.

      I know! We learnt that the hard way lol!
