My son told me that this is the model I needed about 5 years ago. A few months later, I bought one. It's a great guitar. As my fingers get stiffer due to the aging process, I play electric guitars more often but I always marvel about how great this guitar is when I play it. Great review of this fine instrument!
I have a Martin OM 21 from 2015. Very similar to the “28.” It is simply the best acoustic guitar I have played. I love Martins! If you haven’t already, I recommend you take their factory tour in Nazareth, PA.
I was torn between the 000-28 and 000-18. While I tend to lean towards rosewood guitars, there is something about the mahogany of the 000-18 that won me over. So that’s the one I went with. The 000-18e retro. But both are outstanding.
I currently own a modern deluxe 0M 28 w/Sitka with a beautiful book matched Rosewood back and sides. Sounds great. I just recently acquired a new OOOO Martin with Adirondacks top/sinker mahogany back/ sides. Body depth of an OM, like a m36 w/o the 3 piece back., phenomenal sound great overtones, highs and best clarity between the strings on paralleled on any of the guitars that I own. The OMI believe was the first 14 fret guitar made after the 12 fret original drug night. Has a very rich history in the Martin lineup, like you said, super versatile guitar. The best part of this video was your testimony for our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. And standing up for him, and being His.
I Love my HD35 Martin That I bought new in 1979 The sound is amazing and it still looks brand new with the 3 piece Rosewood back and Blonde front it’s a real beauty
I currently own a 2020 Martin OO-18. I play it daily for about 1 hour easily. It has opened up wonderfully and the Sitka top has turned such a beautiful aged color. It is a fabulous guitar and comfortable to play. Not much smaller than a OOO either.
Praise our lord Christ Jesus. Love the 000-28 Martin guitar. The only thing I would replace is replace the bone saddle and pins with Fossil walrus Ivory saddle and fossil walrus jawbone bridge pins. I did this change with my Martin O-18. The tonal palette colours, flavors, harmonics, sustain and clarity. I also Installed a LR Baggs Anthem. Love the Martin guitar's.
Had a triple o i bought used around 1994. It was one year old when i bought it. Paid 900 bucks for it. It was practically brand new. no scratches or marks of any kind. Someday ill find another
I played a Brooke Ligertwood 000-28 the other day. I’m a lefty and had to play it upside down. The sound jumps out of it. A great addition to the line. I’m consistently impressed with the 000-28 and the CEO 7
I bought a 000-28 today and I’m having an LR Baggs installed. I will get to pick it up in a few days. I’m looking forward to playing it. I have a 1995 SP000-R16 cutaway that will be hard to top though. We’ll see??
I love my 000 28; its a jewel of an intimate instrument. Something easy to grab for guitar fixes all day long. My girl loves going to the synagog with me on Shabis.
lol that the exact type of guitar that was my first guitar I still have it and I went to the pawnshop to get a guitar and I saw a Martin and I didn’t know what I was looking at but when I bought it for 100 bucks I found out it was a Martin 000-28 from 1980 and it is in almost perfect condition and then I found out how much it cost to get one normally 😂 I was very blessed to get that guitar.
It might be a dog. There are plenty out there. I've played martins that I wouldn't pay $100 for. Every brand makes some duds that go on the market, and 9 out of 10 guitars spend their lives on a wall or in a closet so it doesn't matter.
I’m debating on getting a Martin 000-28 or a yairi fym70ce , yairi has a slight skinnier neck width and a hair longer scale , Martin comes plekd while the yairi doesn’t , Hard decision.
I’d be really interested to see what you guys think about the Eastman OM’s. They have a ton of budget friendly options compared to Martin and hand built in China. They have a really good reputation but I’d be curious to hear your thoughts and comparison if you get the chance sometime.
We’ve demo’d an Eastman J45 style acoustic on our Worship Tutorials channel. They’re really good. I (Brian) personally really love Eastman guitars - both the acoustics and electrics.
Hi, thanks for the review. Would this guitar be suitable as your primary guitar for worship leading at church? Or would you be better off going with the dreadnaught? Thanks.
Thank you so much for this demo. You don't talk much about the shorter scale length. I am undecided between the 000-28 and the OM-28 with longer scale length. I have mid-sized hands. How would you compare the two guitars?
Scale length affects the tone a lot as well as the feel of the strings. The OM will be brighter and project more. The OOO will have slinkier strings and a warmer tone. The bodies are identical.
@@MayotheMaker The D-35 is a dreadnought and also has different appointments, etc. than the 28 style guitars. If you wanted to compare the 000-28 with a dreadnought, the D-28 would be the most comparable. D, 000, OM, etc. indicates body shape; 28, 18, 35 etc. indicates style.
As for 'scalloped braces' depends which year. Mine is a 2008 and has straight bracing like that year's D-28. It is an absolutely beautiful guitar, I play mine just about every day. It sounds particularly good with Elixir Nanoweb 12-53s on it too.
That’s beautiful!! Amazing tone. I recently got a ceo-7 after a year and a half of waiting since I’m a lefty, but I love it! Not sure if I should put anthem or sl in it though.
I had a CEO-7 for years. I loved that guitar! I’m actually planning to get one again one of these days. I had a full Anthem system in mine, but either one would work great.
Hey this guitar sounds amazing! I did hear buzz when ever the low e string was used however, via sample one. Is that just how the ooo-28 sounds, or maybe a one off?
Serious question. What type of bone is used? Does it matter? Difference between bone & tusq. I may be way behind the 8 ball but have often wondered. Would appreciate helpful answer. Cheers, John Brisbane Australia. I own a Martin OM1 (2001) It has a solid spanish cedar neck, solid mahogany back & tusq nut & saddle.
Bone is usually cow bone. The unbleached one is supposed to be better. Imho, the best sound for acoustic guitars. One limit : its density can be uneven, which may be an issue with an electro guitar. That's why tusq was developped. Imho if you mainly play acoustic, try bone, if you mainly play electro keep tusq.

I have a 2017 00-28 from 2017 and I am grateful everyday I get to play it.
This and the 00015m are my dream guitars
I love my 000-28 pure and simple. No pick up required!
I recently bought Martin 000-28 Brooke Ligertwood and it is the best acoustic I’ve ever played🫡
I got one too. I definitely prefer the 1 11/16 nut.
Great with the old school Martin Original 80/20 lights.
Best of luck with yours!
Thank you for honoring our King.

Absolutely agree on both points.
Beautiful martin 000 and name dropping He Lord, that earns a like in my books.
I have a 0001-R that I am happy with. Martin stopped making it all a sudden.
Martin doesn't build many cut-aways. I love my GPC-16e. It's a 000 size. It sounds rich.

D-35 and a 000-28 comparison! For us Martin fans:)
And after that, let’s compare an SUV with a 2 door sedan…

Jimmy Buffett says this is his personal favorite giutar - he says it's his "room guitar" - he takes it on the road to play in his hotel room
I have a Martin 00028 vintage series. Its the only and last guitar I'll ever own. We were married last month.
