My father and I found 2 rabbits on a dirt road. They were obviously not wild rabbits so we took them with the intention of finding them a home. No one wanted them so we had 2 rabbits running around our house for a few years.

I've rescued lots of bunnies in the past. I hate it when people buy one, shove it in a hutch and don't give them space to run. They love company. Females will fight. Teeth should be checked regularly. I love these gentle creatures.

My family friend has 2 rabbits. She moved to a new place with a lot more space, so they now have a house with a yard.
well worse is when they have dogs that attack them through the wire hutch...

My bunny, Barkley had his own room with his crate in it and I never closed the crate door. He had free reign of the house when we were home. He passed away many years ago at the age of nine and I miss him so much, he was an absolute joy!

@@solar0wind yes people can have a rabbit without a companion and it can still live a good life as long as it has good human company or other animals
@@milkRasberryshake I'm pretty sure that humans aren't a suitable only-companion for a rabbit. I'm not sure about male rabbits, though. Many people say that horses, parrots, mice, guinea pigs etc. can live alone, as long as they have humans, while here in Germany it's in fact illegal to keep certain social species alone, especially parrots, because experts here agreed that it's animal abuse. Also, I read studies about keeping parrots solitary, and they came to the conclusion that it's a harmful thing to do, increasing the chance for mental illness and early death due to chronic stress a lot. I'm not sure about rabbits, but if they are similar to these other species, then it would be animal abuse to keep them solitary in most cases.

Yes...and bunnies reproduce rapidly... and at very young age...babies also need desexing sooner rather than later. Someone mentioned teeth...yes...they grow constantly like fingernails...which is why they need to chew on stuff.....!!!

@@boa9535 I mean, the likelihood of having unhealthy offspring isn't really different, humans just have a concept of incest being taboo and other animals don't.
I follow this rescuer on Instagram, and unfortunately the father passed away before these bunnies were abandoned and then rescued. I imagine they didn’t cover that in this video because it’s very sad.

Best check if male or female with a visit to the vet. Get advice as rabbits need space to run and jump, not a tiny cage or tiny run. They need constant hay and a gentle attitude. Ours are free roam and so fun ❤️
So i have followed these bunnies journey since the beginning on Instagram. Christina has 5 other bunnies and a cat and lives in an apartment so free roaming wasn’t possible. She had them checked by rabbit savvy vets as soon as she could and had them sexed once they were old enough. They definitely got plenty of hay and are well taken care of. They have been separate out by now. So the bunnies are in great hands!! (Also no nearby rescues could take them at the time)

The big question: Since I don’t believe that bunnies have immaculate births, who’s the father? Which bunny will be handing out cigars?
I was thinking this too and I then questioned whether both of the adult bunnies are actually female.
I follow this rescuer on Instagram and the father passed away before the bunnies could be rescued. Probably not something they wanted to mention in this video because it’s awfully sad.

We recently adopted a Guinea Pig and we are pretty sure she’s pregnant.

I think our dog, Sophie, waited until she was safe before she had her puppies. Animal control found her on the streets as an abused, pregnant, stray. Two days after she arrived at the shelter, she gave birth to 7 puppies! The couple pictures we saw of the puppies were super cute!

Wow, you are wonderful saving these buns! Bunnies are really good pets, most people don't even realize. Yes, they all have different personalities just like cats. They do really enjoy playing, running around, and having a mate. Have to be careful placing buns together though. If they don't like each other, things can get ugly.

I got a bunny that the girl I got it from swore was a male, it was a young bunny and I couldn’t tell the sex so I trusted her that it was male.
Meanwhile, I was pet sitting my mom’s bunny who was a boy. They didn’t get along so I kept them apart, but they were together once or twice.
A while later I heard a loud squeak! and thought the cat brought something in...
heard it a few more times and found it in my bunny’s hut, still confused and in denial, I then realized it was a baby bunny and that there was 6 total.
That’s how I was shocked into finding out my bunny was actually a girl.

I don't even need to watch this; I lived it. We were gifted 2 guinea pigs by some friends. We had 52 in the end. Nothing could stop them, even separating them in a large pen with chicken wire. They burrowed through the food bin we had made. Put a wall in the food bin? They chewed through it.

This is like when i bought three female hamsters from pets at home and at one point i ended up having 21 hamsters.
We also bought a white mouse and after 4 days she gave birth to 6 babies. And I am happy that the all made it.
That happened to me once. Except it was a Guinea pig my mom got me for my 11th birthday. A few weeks later Snickers (the momma) had babies! Hersheys & M&M!!

Aww, and bunny kits are just turn out so sweet when you have a mom that trusts you with her babies that she doesn't fuss about you handling them and the babies know you from such a young age.
Mainly I had that with cats since my family has had a very unfortunate track record with rabbits.
