This series of videos is awesome. My 13 year old son and I used them to repair the engine on a 3 year old craftsman push mower my neighbor had given up on and set by the curb. We tore it down. Cleaned A LOT of hard built up carbon jamming up the cylinder. Bought new gaskets and o-rings and reassembled. The mower cranked on the first pull. High fives all around and my son has a mower for summer mowing jobs. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Hey Jake, at the end you said, Stay Tuned for Part 4: Troubleshooting, Set Spark Plug Gap, How To Look At Spark (I guess you mean how to check a spark plug for firing), How To See What's Going On, Diagnose Why It's Not Starting, and Things We Can Do, and Then Hopefully Get This Thing Fired Up. I don't see it on your Videos page.

To lock the flywheel in place I used the blade adapter on the bottom and clamped it in a vice. It's 10 times better than using the cable that is flexible.

Funny you said that because I have done that twice in two different lawn mowers fogetting to put the washer or to put the pull rope catcher lol..

Have you ever used a business card to set the magneto gap?

Hi, ive gone through the same motor and im dealing with kickback when starting and the flywheel key is good. Is there a compression relief on this motor?

So the mower was working great for a while. Today I was going up a slight hill and heard a strange noise. I think the flywheel or key was the noise and now it won't pull at all...anyways I was borrowing the socket set I used and need to buy a the socket used on flywheel. Do you happen to know what size to use?
