    • @coreyrowe4119
      @coreyrowe4119 Před 5 lety

      We've got 5 titles since 2000 with a 5-1 record in championship appearances during that span. That doesn't even cover the great run of dominance we had with the bulls winning 6 titles in the 90's. We might not have the crazy success that Boston teams have enjoyed for the better part of the past 20 years but we've definitely had it a lot better than many other big time sports cities during that same period. Fans in Washington and Minnesota (who've combined for 1 sports title since 1991) would kill to have the recent track record of success in sports that we've had in Chicago. Our biggest gap between championships was June 1998 through October 2005 which isn't too bad considering the droughts many other markets have experienced.

      Corey Rowe bears are going to be a threat every year now , cubs are in the playoffs every year since their title and white sox looking great with prospects. The Blackhawks are probably going to make the playoffs and the bulls look like they will change it completely around the next coming years. I’m feeling confident going forward we just need bears and bulls championships.

    • @JJ-zy3zv
      @JJ-zy3zv Před 5 lety

      Corey Rowe also though you have 2 baseball teams, meaning “one Chicago fan” wouldn’t be able to count both the white Sox and cubs titles, cuz that fan would only root for one and prob even be pissed that the other team won. Choose 4 teams, one per sport

    Bruins or Celtics or… Both maybe? Man they are both WAGONS HERE in 2023!!!
    Bruins Currently 35-5-4, 2nd fastest team in NHL history (1929-1930 Bruins #1) to get to 35 Wins, atop the NHL by 12 points over the 2nd place Hurricanes and in the division 13 points in front of the 2nd Place leafs with a GD of +75, next closest team is Devils +40, same difference of the Devils & the 18th team in the league which is INSANE! Also didn’t have a regulation loss at home till January 12th.. just crazy.
    Then there is the Celtics, who are currently 33-12, where 2nd place in the east Bucks is only at 29-16, Nuggets lead the west at 32-13, putting the Celtics atop the NBA as well. Winning 8 of their last 10 & averaging 118.8 points per game. Just NUTTY.
    This is as of January 18th, 2023.

    As a Philly fan. We can say LA is second and NY is third. Almost all of LA sports are very successful despite of Dodgers and Rams failing to win. Had they beat both Boston teams, I'm sure their fans would be claiming LA as title town too. Since 2001 Lakers 5 NBA champs, Angels 1 WS, Ducks 1 SC, Kings 2 SC and Galaxy 5 MLS Cup. Kinda unfair because LA and NY have so many teams.

    With Brady about to walk and the Red Sox incompetent and trading away their developed MVP for pennies on the dollar it feels like those two franchises are going stale. The Celtics are on the rise though with Tatum and Brown as new cornerstones and the Bruins have the best record in the NHL. The Marathon continues...

    Surely USA champions not world champions? It has to be an international competition to be “ world” champions. Always sounds funny to me. USA is not “the world”.

    • @peteg475
      @peteg475 Před 5 lety

      They're the "World Champions" in baseball, NFL and basketball because the best players/highest competition league is in the USA. If you win that, you're the best in the world. Conversely, The NHL hockey champion is called the "Stanley Cup Champion" not the "World Champion" for that reason. North Americans can't say for certain that the NHL Champion is the best team in the world, so they don't call them that.

      @3chords490 Před 5 lety

      @@edwingonzalez3184 Which I do not doubt......which is precisely my point. It's hardly an international contest if there's no competition outside the US , and technically if a team from outside the US can't enter then it's not a world championship. The Astana Camels are world champions of ancient Kazsakhstani Gropsetzi , but since no-one else seriously plays professional Gropsetzi anywhere else in the world no-one really cares.

    • @3chords490
      @3chords490 Před 5 lety

      @@peteg475 Yes yes , we all know that. There is no competition outside the USA , I get that. It just sounds like unnecessary hyperbole to me. It's like it's already understood so why bother making a big deal out of it. Better to call it what it actually is like "the Boston Red Sox are the champions of the USA (and the USA are in a league of their own in baseball and would crush anyone from outside the USA ) " that would be more honest because a) we all know this anyway and b) it's technically accurate because the only teams in the competition are USA teams. To someone outside the USA it just sounds silly and pompous , as if it is somehow an international competition when it isn't. It's like that feeling when someone talks about themselves in the third person...as 3chords often does...LOL
