As an animation programmer on Halo Infinite, I absolutely noticed. It is impossible to not notice. Every waking minute I am constantly aware of how bonkers the idea of this is and the fact that it took as long as it did to just start using IK like the year isn't 2002. I appreciate that someone else in this world can understand a fraction of my pain.

These videos are so interesting because it gives you an insight on how game developing is done, with how much time it took for this mod. Now imagine doing all this, but you’re starting from scratch and have to make everything yourself, no pre rendered models, or base set of code to start with. I feel like I have a better understanding of just how long it takes to develop complete games from scratch, and appreciate just how much time and effort it takes to make some of the games I love to play.
Skyrim even with thousands of modders doesn't have a single person with enough drive to properly implement firearms into the game but yet you have somehow managed to do this properly in a game that has no mod tools whatsoever.
Doesn't help that the Skyrim mod community is fragmented and missing out on its potential due to man children needing to stroke their ego

He might not be the most consistent uploader, but when he does upload I'm never disappointed by the sheer magnitude of the quality of work on display.

As someone who has dabbled a bit in 3D modeling, rigging and animation, the fact that you just picked all that up and learned it to such a degree you could do this with it in the timeframe you did is honestly the most impressive part for me.

The coding and programming for Dark Souls being a almost completely incomprehensible mess feels like exactly what From Software would do. Only their own Devs can understand how to work their games because they don't expect or care about anyone else digging into the code. It's like SFM, a day can't go by without some kind of bug that only a Dev can predict.
Armored Core has spaghetti code too, so it's rather par for the course for FS.
Some of the spaghetti is a result of decompilation. When they build the game to put it on the disk they strip out a lot of stuff that only the developers need, like internal descriptors of what code and files do. So we are left with these illegible messes in some cases.
At the risk of sounding a bit racist, it's pretty par for the course for Japanese developers in general. Then again it's also par for the course for modern Western devs, but in the past it used to be better. It's more of an industry thing and less of a cultural thing.
I think it's so spaghetti because each dev worked on a different area of the game, unlike most games where some guy does level design, art, etc...

InfernoPlus manages to prove all Dark Souls modders wrong by adding custom animations.
I remember the main creator for Cinders saying that'd itd be impossible to add bloodborne weapons and such, and now look at what we have with Convergence, and apparently, Dark Souls 3 can have custom anims, it's just that people don't really want to do them.
@@PhazoGanon And the whole thing about adding new sounds being impossible sounds odd. Not saying it isn't deathly difficult, but Convergence has so much new NPC dialogue... And I'm not sure there's that many unused sounds to replace.

In dark souls culture that emote is usually seen as various degrees of rude depending on context and is commonly used by a winning player as the other player is is dying. So it being parryable is a way to clap back at smacktalking oppnents. Kinda.

Has become a huge dark souls meme thanks in large part to the famous "Giantdad" (czcams.com/video/oyA8odjCzZ4/video.html see this video for reference) that kinda spawned out of early dark souls 1 metas of big poise (i could be wrong on that last bit). It has such an air of arrogance in its animation that riposting someone out of it is just kind of funny.
