ALL OF THIS! I remember once there was a little 14 year old that attached herself to me at a con (I was 18) and I'm so glad she did. We both had horrible men hitting on us the whole time, many got worse when she gave her age. I was there to grab her wrist and walk her away from the creeps and get us both to a safer area. I was so mad and ashamed of our community. Remember to look out for the minors, and if you see anything that seems off or creepy step in. We're a community, and we protect each other!

It invalidates other issues people have run into and unnecessarily villianizes a (most likely) innocent man. Refusing photo's is fine. Coming up with assumptions and strage theories isn't.
I'm a 6'4, heavily bearded, very deep voiced man. Stereotypical bad guy look. I go to the gym regularly, and it shows. From personal experience, we are the safest people to go to if you ever feel like you're in danger. Please, go up to us, and act like we are your sibling. This applies to when you're in public too, but especially at conventions. Now, some people that look like me are very weird, but most of us that have the dedication to go to the gym as often as we do have no sympathy for anybody like that. Also, I understand being worried about going up to us. The media gives us a bad rap for how we look. If you've had a bad experience with somebody, please know that not everyone is like that. While we might be big and scary, most of us don't really like the fear that instills. If you feel worried about going up to us, please, find someone else. But if you are comfortable, we are normally some of the best people to go to. I mean, if you're a creep, are you going to go harass a kid next to the guy who looks like you could rip you in half? Please stay safe out there, and have fun at conventions. That's why you're there!

I was one of those naive kids who almost befriended an adult at a con as a minor. I was there with my dad, and I went off by myself for a while to look around and this grown man kept following me around and asking for my number. I was young and dumb so i thought he was just being friendly and liked my cosplay. Luckily my dad found me and took me away from him. Idk what wouldve happened if he werent there with me. PLEASE BE CAREFUL and go find security if you feel unsafe!
I live in a small town and i decided to go to my local amusement park as springbonbie. I was just taking pictures, goofing around but then some guy appeared out if thin air and started lifting me 0-0. I told him to stop.
People can get weird. I was walking alone to meet up with some friends, and a guy stopped me, clearly delusional drunk or something, telling me to move away, move off the grid, stop playing anime games, and was just eyeing me weird. I broke my cosplay that day and i didnt dare go back for it because i was sure some people would be waiting. It can get scary being alone. Company is best for safety and the mind.
YES YES YES, I’ve been going to conventions for a few years now and what I’ve learned as a minor!! Is always have a buddie(s), if someone asks for a picture and they creep/weird you out you can always say no, if you find a minor unattended keep a close eye on them and or ask them where their friend(s) or adult is and don’t leave their side until you find that person
I also recommend, if you're wearing a skirt, dress or cosplay outfit that has a skirt or dress to wear shorts underneath. You get some absolute creeps with cameras during cons.

me and my friends will definitely keep this in mind, I really should have seen this before my last con and I was left comepletely alone, my mom was at scavenger hunt and both my friends were somewhere else, I was left there alone, but my mom didnt know, she thought my friends were still there, but it was all okay, one of my friends came back and we walked around.
So i remember when i was younger and i saw this nagito cosplayer and he just came up to me and started to be wierd so i just runned away 😂 (btw i was cosplaying Mahiru when that happend)
I remember I went to the only comic/gaming con in my country and I was lucky enough that it was near my house there were so many people who were interviewing others (mostly cosplayers). and were so many adults and so many minors at the same time and all hanging out with each other. stay safe peeps :3
I am going to my third con in September and the first con I went to there was mostly only minors and their parents but when I went to the same con again there was a lot more adults but l had my mom,my brother,my brother’s friend,my next door neighbours cousin and her mom and a friend or theirs we had quite a big group but it was a small con and the one I’m going to in September is way bigger and I’m going as mitsuri so I will be extra safe

There are creeps at every convention. My BF has started calling them out when he sees them now. Esp when they talk to young girls.
