    Thank you so much for all the information that you provide. You make it so plain that even I can understand. I am awaiting for the results to a denial that my VSO and myself decided to file for a higher level review for bi-laterial knees. I've had complete knee replacement on my left knee and I am in my final week of physical therepy before I am scheduled for surgery on the right one. I have constant severe pain from the sciatic nerve and neuropathy and planter faciatas in my heel all on the right side. Since I can't send any additional information at this time I can only wait for their decision. If my decision is not a favorable one I would like your assistance of your Medical Opinion Letter.

    I received a hip injury while deployed. I was given a 10% rating for that. Now, a couple years later, that injured hip, I had Hip Replacement. Can I claim to move that rating from 10% to 30% or higher? I plan to also plan to claim my knee and back. They both hurt due to that injured hip. thank you for what you do. Jim

    I have been diagnosed with AVN in both my hips and the left collapsed causing me to have a hip replacement. Filed with the VA after having to get due to several conditions that made me “dead profile” the VA give me 0% for this and was wondering why if you could help

      @prestigeveteranmedical  Před 2 lety

      Hey sir I am happy to hear you were service connected but sorry to hear it is at 0%. I would be happy to look at it with you but typically for increased you simply need to apply for one or submit your own DBQ. These particular types of DBQ's cannot be conducted unfortunately from a virtual platform

    I fractured my hip 3 years ago, and had pin ever since. I finally diagnosed with a labral tear, hip impingement, bursitis, and iliopsoas tendinitis.
    Would the iliopsoas tendonitis be rated as a hip condition or something different? I can’t really find the information on this

    • @prestigeveteranmedical
      @prestigeveteranmedical  Před rokem

      Hey there! Did you see my video on FAI? That is a good video and may apply to you. Your iliopsoas tendonitis would likely be rated as a hip condition but the labral tear and impingement are likely the more chronic conditions.

    So i have a condition i get only 10% for, bc under the va it does not fall into any guidelines, Basically i have a loose body in my hip, severe pain, just seen va rep to put claim in for chronic pain, but i do not understand why it is not covered in the books

    • @prestigeveteranmedical
      @prestigeveteranmedical  Před 3 lety +1

      Sorry to hear that sir. Typically they have a general rating scale for the hips because there are just so many different types of hip disorders. Hang in there!

  • @jaukeshalhamilton5557

    I am service connected for trochanteric pain syndrome to include trochanteric bursitis with limited flexion. This is a secondary condition. I don't know if the VA means both hip sides or 1 hip. Would u know? It doesn't say right, left or bilateral. I am rated at 30% for this secondary issue

    I have been diagnosed with FAI by an orthopedic DR, and was given options for surgery/Prescription/therapy/steroid shots, etc.
    I’ve been taking an NSAID & doing Self physical therapy for 2 years, but still experience pains and more damage is done to the labrums over time.
    I didn’t have any FAI symptoms at all until Basic Training. What % claim would I be able to get for that assuming the VA recognizes it as service related?

    Had bilateral hips total replace in 2017, was sc as secondary to back in 2022. VA gave 10-percent per fixture, go figure-probate expenses physical evidence. But zero for flexion&extension each hip and no mention in rating of pain compensated. Now L hip is chronic pain and I worry it maybe has failed, ,my S.I. joints are in pain. osteoarthritis in back (with new X-rays). Nephritis in toes both feet, am not diabetic. Can I file for increase on limitation of motion, the L hip pain and also connect the nephritis? Would nephritis belong as secondary to back or the secondary connection of the hips? Lastly, isn’t chronic pain in hip ratable? Thanks

    • @prestigeveteranmedical
      @prestigeveteranmedical  Před 2 lety

      Hi sir I am sorry to hear about your struggles. Generally speaking the SI joint is grouped with the low back. As far as the neuropathy is concerned that is certainly something you could consider but generally if symptoms are coming from the spine it would be considered radiculopathy. Hip pain should be part of your rating if that is a factor yes sir.

    • @prestigeveteranmedical
      @prestigeveteranmedical  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey there sir I am sorry to hear about that. We do not work with Active duty service members as you can get all of your ailments documented while you are still on AD and although nexus letters are never required it is our belief that this is especially true for those still in uniform. We are always happy to answer any questions but you may want to talk with a VSO or MEB legal. Best of luck to you sir.
