  • This video is a part of a longer session with guitar player and producer Markus Birkle in the beautiful ambience of the „Mystery Train Studio“ in Stuttgart / Germany.
    Here we are showing a wet dry wet rig consisting of a LEHLE SUNDAY DRIVER SW II as buffer in the first instance.
    Followed by a KoT, the signal is then split by a LEHLE P-SPLIT III to the dry amp in the middle and to the LEHLE PARALLEL SW II.
    Here the famous Dimension D chorus is looped in parallel, giving the signal its wide flavour without sounding too much like a chorus.
    Out of the PARALLEL SW II the signal goes to the wet amp, while one signal is isolated by another P-SPLIT III
    By using the PARALLEL SW II's 30 V technology for maximum unaltered headroom, Markus is able to get a lot of dynamics, even by using studio effects units.
    Lean back and enjoy some relaxing tunes.

    German made. Nothing else needed to say. They simply own the electrical engineering world. I’ve never heard such a cleaner and crunchier dry guitar sound better that this.

    Does the parallel have an expression pedal out for me to control the effect volume?

    So for a Wet/Dry set up, all you need is one P-SPLIT and a PARALLEL L. Any "wet" effects (reverb, delay) will run through the PARALLEL L 100% wet. Do I have that correct. But if one wanted to go Stereo, you would need two P-SPLITs. Right? I'm thinking the PARALLEL L that I have is and older version?

    • @LehleSwitcher
      @LehleSwitcher  Před 4 lety +1

      The LEHLE PARALLEL L is an older, discontinued version and not stereo.
      But you could split the signal with a P-SPLIT and send the wet path to your PARALLEL L. There you loop your effect and set the required effects amount via the MIX and go to your wet amp. It doesn't need to be set to 100%. Just try it.
      Check out the LEHLE P-SPLIT III video:
      czcams.com/video/3KAxNPtUPRU/video.html
      Here, Markus explains a wet/dry setup, while one amp has the effect (univibe) only. If you'd place the univibe into the PARALLEL L's loop you could set the width of the overall sound by turning the MIX knob of the PARALLEL.

      @@LehleSwitcher Traditionally though, the wet effects were 100% wet for a true wet/dry set up.

      @@JazzRockswithAdam For a simple, compact, (true) wet-dry set up, all you need is a Suhr Line Out Box and either a parallel mixer or multi-effects unit like a Roland SE-70.

    Hi there!
    I would like to go out stereo from my pedalboard into the SW II and put the Iridium amp (stereo) in the S/R, so that i get it in parallel with my unprocessed signal, to go then direct into the PA with both signals. As i understand, by trs, the SW II has stereo inputs, S/R, and outputs. Is thtat possible and correct? Thanks!

    • @LehleSwitcher
      @LehleSwitcher  Před 2 lety +1

      "As i understand, by trs, the SW II has stereo inputs, S/R, and outputs. Is thtat possible and correct? "
      This is correct. IN, SEND, RETURN and OUT are usable in TRS, so stereo.
      But does your idea make sense? First: why would you mix an amp & speaker simulation like the Iridium to the unprocessed signal and then send it to a PA? Second: mixing the original with the ad/da converted signal and thus delayed signal can cause probably strange phase shifting sounds you can't ged rid of.

    • @federicouffreduzzi2601
      @federicouffreduzzi2601 Před 2 lety

      @@LehleSwitcher Thanks for answering! The iridium cuts all the bass freqs from many of my pedals, things that my unprocessed signal doesn't, that's why i need to mix them and that's why i need a mixer for live situation. But the phase issue can be a problem, i tought that the phase switch could solve that.

    • @LehleSwitcher
      @LehleSwitcher  Před 2 lety +1

      @@federicouffreduzzi2601 A typical issue is a flipped phase, like it's flipped by 180°.
      A digital device delays the signal by a specific amount of time. So a 180° phase switch doesn't work here.

      LehleSwitcher yes thank you for the response - I think I may go with the signal blender for my parallel effects needs but I definitely need an instrument switcher and it looks like your green 3 instrument switcher is exactly what I need - one question about that though - can I have more than one instrument playing at the same time ?

    I’m not sure how they can say that the parallel SW2 can handle effect racks in stereo when there’s only one send and one return.

      Say if I’m running an Eventide eclipse that has two inputs and two outputs, how would I hook this up if I want to run into both inputs and run both outputs out of my eclipse back into the lehle? Does the send jack on the lehle work as a send jack that I would use a trs stereo out to to a dual mono split cable or does it function as an insert jack? My eclipse has a left and right input and also a left and right out put. I use a lot of ping pong delays that bounce back and forth from the left to the right ear. I am also running out to two amps that I run at the same time.

      @@LehleSwitcher no it doesn’t give you the details on the cords. The pictures show 1 cord going into the rack and one cord coming out. For a stereo effects rack that has two ins and two outs, it’s impossible to get true stereo effects without some kind of y cord or insert cable. Even then, you can only run out to one amp. You would need two 1/4” jacks running out of this box to get true stereo out. Not making much sense. You would basically need two of these to get true stereo.
