I just looked at the video and you frighten me... I just ordered my GT and will take delivery next week. Let's hope that your issues are quickly solved and that you can fully enjoy your bike. About the heat: strange that KTM doesn't have a solution for that. Not sure what I'm going to do about it. I experienced the same during the test ride About the exhaust: be aware that on the continent (I'm from Belgium) there are police checks on the sound emissions. In Belgium, but also in Germany. I will continue to follow your experiences and look forward to your next video
Thanks for the comment Luc. I hope you have better success with your GT aswell. Also thanks for the heads up about the sound emissions. So far it’s not a thing in the UK.
Had the same problem with my SDR Evo. KTM replaced the sensor and thereafter no issues at all. They fixed that at 1500 km and I’m now at 10500 km. Have faith ✌️
I'd got the same problem with my HJC helmet. Try to put it upside down with the chin part pointing rear side of the motorcycle😁 Vibrations on the sixth gear somewhat improved with mileage. If you feather the throttle😋 Now I've passed 20K miles. Generally motorcycle gives more agricultural feel after oil goes over 5K miles. Apparently the heated seat is even less plush than the stock one. Slip-on without the dB killer is loud enough with nice rumble to it.
If you are allowed to lose the cat in the UK it will absolutely reduce the cooked nads problem aforementioned. The cat gets nearly red hot and just roasts you while riding. I have an Arrow midpipe which avoids the cat and its no longer roasty. Additionally I live in Texas where its regularly over 40C.
I was going to buy the air seat cover that KTM provide for the GT. Sadly the GT won't be staying around. Check out my latest GT videos to see why. Ride Safe.
I appreciate the laws are there, this is not the point I was trying to make. At the minute I can put a full exhaust on my bike and no one will say anything, only advisory it may have on an mot is ' noisy exhaust' Im talking about those noise cameras the government was / are trialing in cities, when being pulled over by the police that they check out the exhaust and give you a further fine if not the stock exhaust. Hopes this clears it up a little. Always appreciate comments though James. We appreciate it as it shows people are interested in our content. Ride safe.
So im in a dilemma. I was looking getting a 21 SAS, heard great things. However. I dont tour much(it will change later in the year) but occasionally ill have the mrs riding and we may have a fews days away. Im 27, and the only thing that bothers me with SAS, is the horse looks. Now, im thinking maybe the GT is still okay for touring 1 or 2 up, i know it won't be as comfortable as the SAS but seats etc can be changed out, plus its a lot better looking. Whats wind turbulence like on the motorway on the GT. Be interesting to hear anyones thoughts on this.
Hay Christopher, as you've mentioned you aren't really doing much touring or even green lanes, then I wouldn't bother looking at the SAS, if you can find yourself a GT with no issues then they can be great bikes. Still a little aggressive on the riding stance, some risers would help that if you did start touring. They can handle 2 up riding with luggage easily. I wasn't too impressed with the wind protection on my GT, the screen is either up or down. Get yourself booked on for a test ride and make sure you take it on to the motorway if possible to check it out. I would also suggest testing a bike by yourself to see if you are comfortable with it, and then go back with your Mrs and test again with her on the back, A) make sure your happy 2 up, B) make sure the missus is happy with how the bike is ergonomically for her. What ever you pick, ride safe.
@D.S.R. Thanks for the reply. I think what I'm doing is going to buy a Triumph 800 for when I do go travelling or motorway use up north with the Mrs and then buy a 21 Tuono v4 Factory. Dropping near 13.5k on a great but ugly bike. And being 27, I think a 6.5-7.5k 800 makes sense for something to use as work horse.
First time in the service centre they replaced the mapping sensor hoping this would fix it. No joy, the bike has been in with Fowlers of Bristol this time round and they have replaced the ECU under the direction of KTM. I will be picking the bike up Monday and hopefully this will now be fixed properly. I will update on my community page so make sure you are subscribed to the channel to see the outcome. Ride safe.
@@DSR1YT awesome. I have a 2019 RSV4 1100 factory and am looking for something slightly more comfortable but mainly the extra tank range… its got to be sport for me… no GS!
I came from the 21 Tuono Factory. Loved the tuono. Got the GT for extra comfort, bags, mileage. Engines are different, obviously, but I prefer the V4 anyday. I wanted something I could throw bags on and do some touring rides, but also strip it down and rip it around on a Sunday ride.
You still cannot remove the cat or emissions under standard UK laws, its been that why for decades… if its fitted as standard, it has to remain and work. OBD checks and emissions test will show this up at MoT test or road side by either VOSA or police. The law change will make it illegal to sell exhausts etc and other changes to the motorcycle unrelated to emissions
Nice Video, thanks mate. BUT: "the 6th is almost pointless" What the ...?!?! Imho the GT is not a touring bike for nothing. Maybe you should ride a little more kilometers with it. My GT now has almost 60k, including numerous journeys with some Autobahn stages. Do that on the 5th and then tell me again that the 6th is pointless :-)
As you’ve said. I claim it’s ‘almost pointless’ so it has its uses on the autobahn. Awesome. What about the uk where we are stuck at 70mph? I feel my point stands. I would ride it more. However since I’ve owned it from June I’ve only managed to do 1000miles because it’s had an engine light on from 50miles. 3 times in at a service centre and 3 times they’ve told me it’s fixed.
It was actually after only 50 miles the engine light came on. It’s been 6 months so far and the bike has been in and out of the dealer getting fixed under warranty. Latest item to be changed is the throttle bodies. Hopefully collecting the bike this coming week so i will see if it is finally fixed or not. Ride Safe.
@@dan-dy9mr Yep. Understood. But my point was that anything on the road should pay some sort of tax and insurance. Whether that's emissions or just a small fee to use the road. I am only getting at the point as a fair few non motorised vehicles seem to claim the road but don't pay anything towards it. Squish the argument and put fees in place.
@@Mambo_DGS_Gaming considering we all pay tax on pretty much everything these days I find your comment both infuriating, completely uptight, arrogant and devoid of even a shred of intellect. Let me get it straight, you want disabled people/old people to pay to tax and insurance to use mobility scooters on the roads/public walkways Mate you're out of touch. And how do you propose to enforce that policy? Explain to me how I'd go ahead putting a reg plate on a skateboard. I don't usually get annoyed by comments on CZcams but fucking hell. Yes!

Even in Italy noise is becoming an issue. Ducatis too!

I am a happy owner of Gt 2022 no problems so far 🤞I av put pipewerx end can on mine. It looks and sounds good.

Heated seat is pretty hard, luckily I’m getting rid of the GT, check out my latest videos to see why. Heated seat for sale :)
Yeah--I "discovered' putting head into to fast turns a bit makes it carve with confidence. IOW: Ride it like a Superduke in corners--not lazy.
Ride hard or go home Tom.
I have the superduke GT 2020, its like 6.1 per 100 km, i thought it was thirsty until you mentioned the Aprilia!

I spent $30,000 on a 2022 BMW 1250 R/T if you like handlebar vibration I think it would match the sdgt or maybe worse...
Yet to ride the RT, interesting to see this first hand. Have you tried anything to fix this issue?

Doesn’t mean you can’t get an mot with it decatted, many bikers do this and get away with it. Hopefully they don’t bring the law in any time soon.
Its the same for bicycles- same speeds, kinetic energy and risks.
I think cyclists should not only have insurance but also pay road tax like the rest of us.
