Thanks for the well thought-out video instruction! I don't know how many e39 center consoles you saved by producing this...
(who would've thought that the hazard switch pops out from the inside?...)
very helpful. Got it all done in under 30 minutes. just needed to clean the buttons, etc. thanks
Great video! Thanks for pointing out hidden procedure for ashtray cover.
Like the way you sped up the video by loosening screws. Nothing worse than watching a drawn out video.
Kevin Duplain Thanks
Thanks buddy. You have to use brute force to pull the shift knob out. Thats the only way it would come it. Will post a video of how we do it so be sure to subscribe to view it. Thanks
Thats good timing. Good job
dismantling is definitely more fun than back mount :-D

Very informative instruction! Could you please do a video for E34 5 Series console and dash removal?

I notice on some BMWs that they don't make the boot with enough slack for the P position. It gets dry and shrinks over time and either tears or pulls the mounting plate up on the trailing edge.
You speak the truth. That is a common problem with the leather shifter covers. As a result, we sell used, in good condition oem boot replacements. Anyone having this issue, visit our website for boot inventory www.bimmermerchant.com
Thank you for that input
I use this stuff called Bag Balm. It helps soften the leather that has gotten very dry.
Thanks
Could you please do one on fixing the lighter socket ? That's really frustrating when it's ceased working.
light socket for what unit? Headlight?
bimmermerchant ligher socket :) The lighter you use to light up cigarettes. If it's not a faulty fuse probably it has something to do with the white wire harness I noticed on the left side when you were taking out the wood trim.
bimmermerchant btw !!! GREAT VIDEO !!! Reaaaaally really helpful ! I got an automatic and I was busting my balls trying to remove the wood trim to get to the wiring (I burnt my lighter) and retrieve the top cover of the ash tray cover (there's a plastic casing that's wrapped in the specific plastic trim. Mine has fallen underneath the ashtray).
Great videos man !!! Keep it up !!!
Thanks for posting this.
I wish I saw this then I need parts I got same exact year and model
Is it the same for manual transmission?
Thank you for watching our DIY Video. It is the same process for for manual transmission. Share our video to anyone who may benefit from it.

@@bimmermerchant Have you done it since then? I need my shifter trim off
@@paganiluv9552 yes, we do it often
How do uninstall the center console storing partition (part 51 16 8 159 698)? I've have removed the center console wood trim, but I just can't seem to figure out how to remove the storing partition?
If you are referring to the black storage with sliding cover, then you just pull it out.
Very helpful... Thanx bro

Pull it up
Hi, what´s your Ebay´s profile to find your products? Tks.
Does anyone know if trim from a RHD auto e39 will fit a RHD manual e39? All the trims I can find are for auto by i have a manual.
what trim are you referring to?
@@bimmermerchant the interior door trim which also matches the trim around the gear stick and radio
