You ranked MK Dons as catastrophic without knowing who they are.
Legend.
Oh I know all about the Wimbledon story and why they're hated. Just didn't recognize the badge.
No Forest fan will ever hear a word said against the badge. It's as iconic as our ground and our history. I hope we never change it.
I think the problem here is that the Forest badge is on a black background when it really should be red and white.
Couldn't agree more!
Well deserved last place red dog COYR!!
The badge is etched into my soul and I bleed 'Garibaldi red'. Nothing compares. 🌳⭐⭐
I love the little things VTH does, switching into his Newcastle shirt mid video is a little touch of class.
I think a lot of HITC Sevens videos would be good on this channel. Lots of interesting topics to learn about, react to, and give input on
My two favourite channels on YT
Sorry mate but can't believe you marked Forest as catastrophic! That's one of the best logos there is in the whole of sport. It has all the modern standards clubs dream for in a logo & was made over 50+ years ago! Completely iconic
It looks phallic I'm afraid lol
@@alterbridgegod No chance, it looks like a tree. You can see a cock in everything if you look for it.
I don’t like it at all not bc it looks like a 10 year old created it. It’s so simple and for a club like Nottingham and the history of the area, could be much much better
@@alterbridgegodit looks like a nuke detonation
You broke my heart with Ipswich! I love that logo lol Great video, Chris!
A few things as a Wolves fan, in which, of course you guys are our biggest rivals:
1. I think the West Midlands badges are all pretty class. At the very least to great.
2. I’m fairly certain Wolves are the only club in the 92 that have a hexagon as the outline to their badge.
3. I don’t think I saw Liverpool? Maybe I just completely missed them.
4. Hope you lot get promoted so we can have a Black Country Derby in the Prem again.
Everton is my club so I know I’m biased, but I think our crest is one of the better ones. I love the Everton lock up and having a jail as the main symbol is undeniably cool
UTFT!
As someone from the Newcastle area I appreciate the big representation in the thumbnail!
I absolutely love the soccer/football content!!!
My teams are the Chicago Fire, Indy Eleven and West Ham
Norwich has since changed its badge. I don't think you'd like the new version if you didn't like the old. But you know what? Surrounded by all those other badges, the one that stands out to me is the yellow and green canary.
As a Norfolk girl I have to agree. The Canary logo certainly does stand out!
Where's Birmingham City's badge? One of, if not, the best badge in the land.
I'd like to see your opinions on anything like food, music, movies, sports etc. If you get down to it there are almost limitless tier lists you could make.
My home city club plymouth argyle has a big connection to the US and their founding pilgrim fathers with its logo. It has a mayflower named main stand as well. Nickname is the pilgrims and the team runs out to the us marines march "semper fidelis". I believe boston united are also known as the pilgrims and have links to the US as well, as the pilgrim fathers originated from there. We are unique as there is only one "argyle". Some of our earliest history is linked with the staffordshire footie playing regiments who were based down here in the late 1800s. Unfortunately plymouth is the only major city in the uk to never experience tier one football in its history due to the lack of industry and finance down here in the far off south west. Agree our badge isnt that good tbf. It used to be better when it incorporated the plymouth city crest within it.
Was honestly expecting the U’s shield to be ranked a lot lower. Fair play.
As an American you should be a Sunderland fan over Newcastle. Our colours come from the Washington family crest due to George Washington’s coming from Sunderland originally and even taking the name of the village of Washington in the City of Sunderland. Also, that’s the reason for the colours of the US being red and white. However, not sure about the blue part
But then you'd have to be a Sunderland fan, and who wants that
Typical we refer to them as 'Badges' or 'Crests' - great to see London's finest in Great!
As a wolves fan, I think you got it spot on 😉🐺
as a southampton fan i hoped ours would be higher but to be honest i feel your right as much as i love the team never really liked our badge
Also a Saints fan and I tend to agree.
Well done for putting Chelsea at the top. Obviously I convinced you at the meet up in London
As a Palace fan. I was happy with the placement. West Ham and Newcastle could be top tier.
Bro starts with the two teams i support, jesus what a rollercoaster
I would've expected the Arsenal cannon to be top tier 😮😅
Not a Bournemouth fan, but you did them dirty! It gives me art deco vibes (which I love). More specifically, the Victoire ornament.
Will you do a American football tier list?
Chris you need an Editor for your long form history travel videos. Would love to see them on the channel sooner. :)
Up Kidder !!! Hahaha the K H FC is Kidderminster Harriers. Smaller club from Worcestershire. One of my mom's best friend's husband was their director for a while till he retired.
Never thought I'd hear Chris say the name of my town ha.
I've always found it strange that the badges or logos are minimally displayed on the actual jerseys. The logo of the airline or company is most prominently displayed. Given the significance placed on the badges it seems like it should be front and center. The jerseys appear to be billboards, however that's just my impression as an American. Perhaps there is a reason and I'm glad to be enlightened on the subject.
The sponsor pays to be there. The club doesn't pay to have their own logo there.
I'd say we've seen a recent trend of oversimplification of team badges from unique designs into indistinguishable and interchangeable circular badges attempting to mimic Man City and overmodernize. Works for some, others it just feels boring and corporate template esc.
Take a look at Yeovil Towns recent change as an example
HITC Sevens did a great video on this topic
(can never forgive Liverpool getting meh)
As a Wolverhampton fan, I'm glad to see that even a rival fan can acknowledge a cool crest. :) I'm only a recent convert, only started following the Premier League last year, but had to pick a team, and the Wolves were my choice. Gotta stick with those Wanderers till death now.
Edit: Next time, you should rank their home and away uniform colors
I don’t trust the taste of the English when toast and beans is a breakfast staple 😂😂
A) It isn't a staple. It's not that common.
B) Don't knock it till you try it, every foreigner that I've seen try it has said its not that bad.
@@DarthAxolotl I’ve been to London & tried it. It is so bad. It’s included in a “full English breakfast” so I would assume it’s a staple.
@@user-ss8wh4kk3m Both beans and toast are part of the breakfast, yes. Doesn't mean the parts alone are all that common.
Love the work you do Chris but as a brit, PLEASE. They're not logos and jerseys, they're badges and kits 😂
I'm not even a quarter of the way through and mate, there's no accounting for taste but yours is HORRENDOUS 😂
Oh yes and the "CU" team is Cambridge United
As an LFC fan I’ll forgive you for meh only bc I love the channel
Your third in Catastrophic is MK Dons. Have to say I love the Blackburn badge, and how very dare you put Spurs aka Nandos FC above Arsenal haha. I would disagree on many but it was good to see your opinions. Wolves is definitely one of the best. I'd have Palace in great myself, always loved their logo.
Lol this was a brave video choice, u could rile up some people 😂
13:14 that would be MK Dons
😂 I was born and raised in Norfolk around many Canaries supporters (Norwich City FC). The logo is based on a breed of small bird called a canary. The Norwich canary is bright yellow with green. The males sing beautifully. My school friend’s dad used to breed them. Perhaps not the nicest colour combo for a football team but certainly striking! (Just don’t mention Ipswich Town FC. The rivalry is strong!) 🇬🇧
13:19 It's MK Dons (Only club in england that is made only for Money)
Mate the lion on the Chelsea 'logo' isn't even the English one. It's based on the supporters of Lord Cadogan (who's other title is Viscount Chelsea).
Not showing more love to my Seagulls and calling them 'fake albion' is unforgivable 😭
As a West Brom fan I have to say that. That said, Brighton have been solid the last few years.
@@vthextra Fair, fair. It's all love for West Brom.
Yes it's been a blast to see Brighton at this peak. Hopefully we'll cement ourselves as a competitive PL club and West Brom can fight their way back in. An Albion Derby is overdue!
🪿🪿🪿🪿🪿🪿🪿
Perhaps something similar with MLS?
As an Arsenal fan, I have to agree. Our old crest was much better, but the club couldn't claim copyright on it, and in the modern age, graphic design has tended to shift towards the minimalistic.
I still believe they should have at least kept the cannon facing to the left, as it always had done traditionally, but oh well lol
Killed me with the first pick 😭
I’m more of an international football guy. But I like Southampton FC logo because of the history and because it’s my other club with Man U. I agree with your great though. Everything else after them is indeed under those logos.
West Ham is easy top tier for the colors alone
I don't think i could ever do this objectively 😂
More footy content pls 🙏🙏
The value and impact of aesthetics should not be overestimated when concerning humans. That being said I'm an American who is a Liverpool fan and I agree lol. If VTH is a hockey fan like me I'd like to see him review NHL logos.
i generally agree with the ranking. for me Sunderland goes to good, Leichester City goes to great, Wolverhampton to meh, Arsenal also goes to good (i have my bias as i am an arsenal fan) and i would put dorking to meh. Anyways keep going with football related content, i really enjoy it!
Putting Burnley and Blackburn in the same category is risky there massive rivals in the north west
You said at the beginning you weren’t sure how many leagues this was. This list consists of the football league - the 4 professional leagues in England - as well as the first league in “non-league” called the National League. The only team missing are Birmingham, which I’d guess is the team of whoever made it to remove some bias from their own rankings.
I think your picks are mostly okay. As a Wigan fan I’d take a “good” as it’s not a bad badge but it’s definitely not the best either. Crewe I’d put higher but that’s because I’ve lived only a few miles away my whole life. And Manchester City’s badge leaves me very conflicted. It’s very strange seeing a place and symbol I love in the red rose (the vast majority of my ancestors were from Lancashire) connected to a club I really dislike. I know Manchester was historically part of Lancashire, but in my lifetime Manchester’s county has always been Greater Manchester, which makes Manchester City being a “Lancashire” club hard to swallow
I cant wait to see your favorite 80s songs:):):):););)
Where is Birmingham 😢
I’m a Liverpool fan but not having Man Utds logo as great is blasphemy
Where was birmingham city???
There is at least top four tiers of english football
13:37 Lincoln city
No Birmingham badge how come.
As a Liverpool fan, I think you're too harsh on the Liverbird being too busy. The only thing keeping the Blackburn logo from being great is the color of the text. If the text was a neutral color instead of bright yellow, it's great.
Oxford United I feel is great, along with Arsenal. Tottenham (can’t use the name I call them) I put at the bottom. The logo looks like a chicken standing on a beach all
The blue/yellow shield with the stag head is Mansfield Town.
Best Club Logo-- Arsenal! Yes, I am biased haha #Gooner4Life
In all seriousness, it's a solid list. I don't like Nottingham Forest's either. Aston Villa is great and I will admit, Chelsea has a great shield. I do have a Man City jersey and I will also admit-- I love it haha great shield.
Up the SPURS
cu means butthole in portuguese, I love that logo
Man City just has a perfect blend of history in there.
The CU logo is Cambridge United. And yeah... it looks so bad for a logo.
Toon toon!!!! 🖤🤍
Arsenal is too instantly recognizable to be seen as "meh". Norwich is a decent one. Chelsea probably best.
Y'know what else came from England? The imperial system.
Let's go Hull City!
Tigers gonna win tomorrow for your spite.
WE SETTLE ON A DRAW!
Reached the end and i think you dont like the east midlands somewhat
Bolton being in bad knocks me sick hahaha. If only we had the previous crest with the ribbons that was so clean!
On the bright side Chris liked The Exeter City one 😁
Chris - I cannot forgive you for not even mentioning Sheffield Wednesday’s name when pulling us into the section below United!
Great meeting you in Birmingham btw! 😂
Clearly biased when it comes to Wrexham
As a USMNT fan I hate Nottingham forest for signing and benching Matt Turner and Gio Reyna. The fact that both players joined so they could play more rlly pisses me off🤦🏻♂️
As a Forest fan, I feel some sympathy for Reyna, but he's only just joined and he'll get opportunities soon. As for Turner, he makes way too many costly mistakes and his distribution is atrocious. This is the premier league and errors have to be cut out, especially for a team like ourselves fighting towards the foot of the table.
Well you have to be good enough to play. Period. USMNT players are usually much overrated by US fans. Simple as that.
Turner is absolutely terrible. Reyna will get game time over the season, unlike Turner did he will have to earn his place when he gets the chance.
Turner isn’t good enough and Reyna isn’t better than Gibbs-White.
It’s as simple as that
It isn't the white rose of York on the Leicester badge mate. It's an ermine cinquefoil of the (ancient) Earls of Leicester.
Sunderland is meh ? Are you serious ? What’s so meh about it ? Easily one of the best ones and far from basic or bland like the ones you picked for great.
It is meh
Not too bad of rankings, would have Blackburn one level higher and maybe bump NewCastle to great. BTW Blackburn still has one of the best kits around.
