The authors understood the possibility that the government they were trying to establish could potentially become tyrannical, just like England did with them. The relevant idea here is that when the Constitution was written, it was done so that if the people feared a foreign or domestic threat (including, but not limited to one's own government), the right to bear arms and form militias for the purpose of self-preservation was inherent. Of course there should be oversight, but it does not have to be from a governing body.

I was in college, taking an ecology class. We were learning about ecosystems and the species in those given ecosystems. The professor said, when a group of species meet & surpass the max level of stable population for their given ecosystem. Due to lack of space, food, resources etc. the population of the species will reach a tipping point, and then they will start to die off.
At random, Cancers will spring up, diseases will become rampant, child baring may stop, homicidal tendencies may begin. Lowering and lowering the population down to a stable level. Then the chaos will subside and the population will come back to a sustainable level where it will level off.
My professor said this is believed to be the case for every species in every ecosystem. He said scientists have done studies testing this theory among all sorts of species in all sorts of ecosystems and it has played out the same among them all.
I often remember this one lesson I had, and see how it fits the human race. And wonder if we are seeing this. Wonder if cancer is side effect of this. I do think this is what we are seeing, I also think it’s a mixture of another theory.
There is another theory out there that when humans lose purpose, get too far away from survival. And life becomes easy and mundane.
