- Took a while to get the right BB tool for this video. Thanks for waiting!
Poor weather means bad light. Maybe I should get a GoPro instead of just proping my phone up. Completed a removal, clean, and reassembly of the bottom bracket of the Canyon Endurace AL 7.0.
Next videos planned: disc brake caliper cleaning. headset service.
What else do you want to see me try to work on? - Sport
I have the same bike, over 6500 kms (over 4000 miles) . Regularly cleaned , only replaced cassette and chain sofar. To ‘scared’ to take of the cranck... yet. You vid helps, thanks for that. I guess i never took it apart as it doesn’t fail me. Now due to corona it does not so many kms outside. So maybe it’s about time to have a look.
Nice job 👍
Unless you ride in the rain often I would service the BB about 5,000 miles of riding.
Nick Mancello I agree. This first 1500 miles have had quite a few wet rides and this video is intended to just be a way for people to see the details of this model.
It’s not rocket surgery or brain science :-) I have this bike. Lots of negative comments about the headset on these. I’ve only done 500 mainly dry miles so wouldn’t expect problems yet
Hi, I have a question regarding changing the cassette. Having taken the old cassette off, there is a 1.85mm spacer fitted, that I thought was only used for 10 speeds? It is the original factory fitted component, but should it be there on an 11 speed?
I think it’s safe to say the spacer you have is correct u less the gears did not work correctly when new. The spacer might be specific to your wheelset/cassette combination.
I have a Canyon AL 7 to from 2019 - can you explain all the tools I would need to replace my bottom bracket as its clicking at the moment. Quite surprised after only a year and around 1400 miles
Hi John; mine is from 2018, over 4000 miles; no problems yet. Are you sure its the cranck making a clicking sound? It’s sometimes so hard to both ride and listen where the sound comes from . Maybe its the chain or pedals. The latter might fool you also. Maybe this clean up helps.
