    Brad Wilcox is a very controversial LDS Leader creating many to reconsider their faith in the LDS Faith. His ideas are pushing youth and adults to contemplate if their Church is the "true church". Take a look at what was found with the teaching of the Seer Stone.

    Brad has offered many insane explanations over the years, and this one, is easily in the Top 1000. Every time he opens his mouth, a Mormon angel loses its wings. Credit to the youth of today, for using the intellect God gave them, knowingly or unknowingly, to acknowledge double speak, and statements that are literally bat sh*t crazy. Lord have mercy on me. Lord have mercy on Brad Wilcox. Lord have mercy on us all.

    Ok Dave, let's admit something. Let's say that what Brad Wilcox said makes sense and is understandable, fine. But where are the mormon scriptures that back that up? It's like in Islam modern people saying : "well you know prophet Mohamed didn't free the slaves because there were too many and you know to free them all could have lead to violence in the streets and murders. Sounds nice and plausible now, but the point is that you can't find anywhere this assertion in muslim scriptures. It is just one's personal opinion to try desperately to justify horrors.

We do not know all things. So do not act like you do. One day all things will be made manifest and they will all make sense at that point. I have had experiences that I cannot explain and I will never deny Christ, nor His Church. I do not have all the answers, and I humbly admit that. But what I do know is that I have some of the answers, and that is all I need to continue on. Again, Jesus Christ lives. Every single mortal that was, is, and will be, will see Him face to face someday. At some point. “Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do”…

      Hello HelpMeUnderstand, I appreciate your sincerity and the courage it takes to leave a comment that is contrary to the majority of the other comments. I believe you have had real experiences validating your faith. Thank you for sharing that. That being said, I was a faithful member of the Mormon Church for 26 years before leaving the LDS Church (and I use the term "Mormon" respectfully, as back in my day we called ourselves Mormon with pride, and our leaders encouraged us to go by the name "Mormon"). I, too, have a testimony that God lives and that Jesus is real. He lived, He gave His life as a ransom for our sins, was resurrected on the third day, and ever intercedes for us! I was pretty sheltered as a Mormon and believed that Mormons had the "corner of the market" on faith and miracles. I was taught that no other church could come close to having the truth. Since leaving the LDS Church and becoming a born-again follower of Jesus the Messiah, I have both witnessed miracles and experienced them myself. I've seen people healed of debilitating illnesses. One of my dear friends has raised the dead (verifiably pronounced dead by medical personnel). I've had answers to prayers, and so have many others outside of Mormonism. Feelings and experiences do not trump facts and they are not proof that something is true. Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, New Agers, and Hindus, among others, have all seen or experienced some kind of miracles in their lives and have had spiritual experiences that led them to the conclusion that their respective religions were true. Not all miracles are from God. We are spiritual beings living in a physical dimension, and there are dark spiritual forces that can bring about supernatural events. Look at the Pharaoh's magicians who were able to reproduce some of the miracles that Moses preformed. There are many instances (too many to list) described in the Bible where pagans who worshiped false gods were able to do supernatural things. I invite you to consider the possibility that Mormonism is not true. Our loyalty and allegiance should not be to an organization or church. Our faith should not be put in people, but in the Person of Jesus of Nazareth and His blood shed for us. That is where truth, power, salvation, and deliverance is, in Christ alone! I encourage you to do some deep study. Look into the actual Hebrew and Greek meaning of words. You said you can never deny his Church. The real church is the body of believers who have been born of the Spirit. The word "church" is an English term that is used to describe the Hebrew word Kahal (Qahal) and the Greek ekklesia, which is simply a gathering , and not necessarily a religious one. In Old Testament times the Jewish community would gather to hear the reading of the Torah. In New Testament times Jews and Gentiles who believed in Yeshua (Jesus) gathered to hear the words of Torah and pray for one another. They did not belong to an incorporated organization that met in a brick and mortar building and required card-carrying membership. Please, I urge you, because time is short and a night is soon coming when it will be too late to be brought into the Kingdom of God. Think of the Ten Virgins. The door was shut to the five foolish ones. There are no second chances after death.

      Personally, I'm not looking for ALL the answers, ... how about just 1. Why did Joseph need the stone to translate the BOM and why did he use it to cheat an old man out of money. I guess that two questions. Mr. Wilcox, just choose which one you want to answer. And it came to pass that in the great and horrible year of two thousand twenty and two that the great man of education was unable to answer the mighty, yet hard, that is rather easy, questions. And it came to pass that the great church of the salted lake was unable to answer any questions of the people, no not one. And it came to pass the church was coming close to death and the people all knew it was real, or rather fake.

It is not so much the object that has miraculous power as it is the faith of those who are seeking God. Who knows how the seer stones, diving cup, rods of prophets worked?..... Instead of attacking the mode(s) of translation employed by Joseph Smith, which you can only mock with an appeal to emotion, perhaps you should focus on the unique doctrines he "invented" in the Book of Mormon and later in the Doctrine and Covenants (D&C.) You don't even have to read the entire Book of Mormon and or D&C. Second Nephi Chapter 2 would be an excellent place to start. Study that one chapter, then contemplate what Smith taught in Section 93 of the D&C, which teaches the most unique concept of the human soul not shared by any other Judeo-Christian faith, that we are all literally eternal, having always existed as intelligences prior to receiving a spirit body in the premortal realm before we came to Earth to obtain a physical body. This is what sets "Mormonism" apart from every other faith, as they teach "Creatio Ex Nihilo," Creation from Absolutely Nothing. And creation from nothing would mean we did not need to exist, that God created us on a whim from absolutely nothing for completely selfish reasons, which most Christians admit when they insist He created the universe and then us out of nothing to "glorify Himself." Anyone who says that has no critical thinking skills and worships a selfish, whimsical being who never did anything in all past eternity until he suddenly decided he needed to create everything, then us, again out of nothing because, well, he was bored, or he needed to feel important, heeping self-aggrandizement on himself because, well, he needed unnecessary, biological toys to praise him. Yeah, a being with low self-esteem needed to purposely create purposely flawed, unnecessary things to live a life they did not ask to receive to then have to prove they are worthy by accepting a sacrifice of his only real son who didn't need to be sacrificed because he didn't need to create us in the first place and then create us to be so inherently corrupt, we would all fail. Should I go on?!
    Oh, and if you don't believe in any God, let's talk about Abiogenesis and Random Evolution. That would be fun!

    • @stevenhenderson9005
      @stevenhenderson9005 Před 2 lety

      Why would you be deceptive like that. As Mormons we don't teach that God created everything out of nothing, like traditional Christians teach it. Joseph addresses the word “create” as meaning “to organize” and not to “create out of nothing.”
      Joseph Smith said "There never was a time when there were not spirits; for they are co-equal with our Father in heaven.”
      If you are equal to God and I am equal to God and everyone is equal to God, then wouldn't that mean we are God?
      This co-equal teaching is the same teaching that Christ gave of himself. "I am in the Father and the Father is in me and I and the father are one." "If you have seen me, you have seen the Father."
      This leads to the teaching that we collectively are God the very Eternal Father of Heaven and the creator of all things.
      So wait wouldn't that make us all prophets, seers, and revelators as well? So if we are all prophets, then why do we need a Prophet today?
      If Prophets in the LDS Church today are ordain to be prophets, then who ordained Joseph Smith? That's right no one, and a matter of fact Joseph wasn't a baptized member of the LDS Church, and didn't hold any priesthood authority when he was acting as a prophet. After Joseph Smith died Brigham Young became the new leader of the Church, however was he ordained to be a prophet and president of the church? Not at all, he just took it through unrighteousness dominion and went to work changing the history and doctrine on the church without authority and while ignoring or changing the teachings of Joseph Smith to justify his actions.
      In the early 1900's the leaders were teaching that position you held was a level of priesthood so when someone was of age to become an Elder, someone would lay their hands on their head and ordain them to the office of an Elder. (Not the priesthood) and they didn't confir the anointing, which is a very important part in receiving the priesthood.
      It wasn't until about 50 to 60 years later when they realized they were doing it wrong and implanted the correction. If you pull up the elders manual from around 1910 or 1920 and look under ordaining the priesthood then you will see what I mean.
      Since Joseph Smiths death the church has been changing and altering teachings, doctrine, scripture without authority, but with the actions of man. All the important things Joseph taught that he said should never be removed, has been removed and the Church we are left with today is in apostasy.

    • @LadyMaria
      @LadyMaria Před 2 lety

      That is a very venomous take on things.
      I'm an Orthodox Christian and we believe that God isn't limited, that He can create things out of nothing; although even arranging a planet out of created matter (which we don't believe in) would have come from uncreated matter in the past down the line as matter is finite.
      God is omnipotent and omnipresent or He wouldn't be God. He is a Creator so He creates. He is love so He created beings to love each other and to love Him in a family. The Logos of God (or, Word of God) became man in the incarnation (today is the feast of the Annunciation) but remained fully God as well, uniting our human nature to Himself in the one Person of Christ who has two natures.
      Christ God died to smash the gates of Hades (Greek for She'ol) as God cannot die so Him descending to Hades was a paradox. So when His Body lay in the tomb, He went to Hades and liberated the souls therein bringing them to Him. The Harrowing of Hades is in the Gospel of Nicodemus (not canonical as in not in Holy Scripture aka the Bible, but we do accept what corresponds to Holy Tradition). Then after that harrowing He rose again on the third day. That gave us hope for glorification and eternal unity with God, with His Energies. Although as it says in Scripture, those who do not follow Him ultimately end up in Gehenna. However, we do pray for the departed, both Orthodox (in church services) and non-Orthodox (personal services at home, Akathists) and give alms in their name. We hold hope that most souls will be saved in the end. Hades isn't a final destination after all. Some of our Saints have had visions of souls being plucked out of hades. So we pray for them.
      Once we are conceived, we are eternal in soul and body though the body will sleep in the grave eventually. The body and soul are meant to be one always however it was disrupted. That's why heaven and hades are like waiting rooms for the general resurrection of the body, when soul and body will reunite as one forever.
      Creation is about love. Due to the original sin of Adam we have ancestral sin which is merely the inclination to sin. However, through holy baptism and Chrismation and the other Holy Mysteries in the Church of Christ (Ekklesia tou Christou) one begins the process of Theosis to bring oneself in unity to God, as adoption as sons and daughters starts with baptism in His Church (we believe it to be the Holy Orthodox Church). In this life we can be united to Him through not only prayer but partaking of Him in His most Pure Body and precious Blood. This is why so many of our Saints have seen visions and made accurate prophecies in every generation, even now, they attained such a state of holiness.

      @@LadyMaria Well I don't see how this is to much different then the Mormonism teachings from Joseph Smith. Sounds all fictional or allegorical.
