Excellent choice for long distance riding !
When you get to a certain age you have trouble getting your leg over and this goes for your bike as well. I struggle with these stepped seats especially if they have a massive rack on the back.
The easiest to get on is a scooter 🛵

This bike is undoubtedly a keeper, highliting the legacy of its predecessor , the old good one Transalp 400, 600 and 650.
This will probably be my next bike but I'm so happy with my CB500X.
I'll miss the RE350 but we' ve talked about it before, performance is Safety and Safety is first of all!
Looking forward to check the next reviews of your new fantastic coloured Transalp 750!

Good choice, great bike. the only thing missing, in my opinion, is the indispensable accessory for long trips, especially on motorways, and that is cruise control.

Goodluck with Rain. I am keeping the classic for a bit longer. I understand your choice however. I am Just a short guy so for me no problem. Enjoyed your video's about the classic but looking forward for your reviews on the Honda.

Glückwunsch zum neuen Bike. Ja die Honda passt schon gut für deinen Einsatzzweck. Ist aber auch sowas von langweilig. Honda eben. Trotzdem ist man mit einer Honda vom Gefühl auf Touren immer noch gut aufgehoben, da es einfach das beste Händlernetz gibt, außer vielleicht BMW. Obwohl ich gerne auch den Chinesen eine Chance geben würde, aber wenn ich die Bewertungen hinsichtlich Ersatzteile lese, bekommt man Angst. Ich bin gespannt wie es bei dir weitergeht

Unfortunately, after frequent tire punctures on the road, this is one of the reasons why I no longer consider motorcycles without tubeless tires, such as this one. Other than that, the bike is great.
Must be unlucky, mate.
I've been riding since 69, and apart from two bikes , all have tubed tyres, including my current Enfield Classic .
In that time, I can only remember 4 punctures, and two on those were on my Ossa Trials bike, which with only 6psi during competition was no shock.
Just 1 puncture in 40 years. Maybe you should fill the tires to max pressure?
It’s a lovely bike but if you don’t want to go off road why choose a bike with 21in front wheel 🤔? I will sell my Enfield classic eventually but I want a nice shaft drive perhaps Moto Guzzi the new ones are very good, I will be hoping to buy second hand in a couple of years. Still I wish you all the best with your very reliable Honda😊
I test rode the Guzzi V7 Classic, beautiful bike, but to small for me. The 21 inch wheel rides very good onroad, I was surprised. Cheers Marc

I hear your reservations about the classic 350. I had a Himalayan for two years and I had similar feelings. I live in Canada and a lot of the places I like to go are a long ways apart. It is not unusual for me to do a 800 km day. I did look at the Transalp but it was a bit tall for me. I owned an Africa Twin for two years and I found very tall and heavy. The price was quite high here so I bought a Kawasaki KLR 650 S. This the new short version. It fits me very well. It has pretty good comfort but the seat is a bit hard and it vibrates more than I’d like.
I tested the Africa Twin too, the DCT is amazing, but quite big and heavy. I am waiting for the Classic 650, could be interesting, bigger than the 350 and enough power.

A superb choice as Adventure motorbikes are fast becoming the new Touring Rig and with many good reasons as you pointed out. Comfort, range and looks to name three, because like SUVs, many people like the rugged styling and there is NOTHING wrong with that because looks matter!
My only reservation on this bike is the tubed wheels because I really hate tubes, LOL!

I am also not very happy with the tubed tires, but there is no choice to get tubeless tires. Cheers Marc
@@Marc.Stones Well, I think (and HOPE!) that tires compounds are stronger now and more resistant to punctures and cuts. All the best on your new bike, my friend. It is pretty cool looking!

@@Marc.Stones eine frage noch, die mich auch beschäftigt. Meinst du der sitzkomfort ist auf langer Strecke auf der touring Maschine(transalp) besser als auf einem 350er maxi roller? Denn ich bin hin und her gerissen was besser ist?! Danke dir.
@@eduardp.4274 Der Fahrkomfort ist sicherlich besser, da die Federung längere Federwege hat und die großen Reifen Unebenheiten besser abfedern. Der Sitzkomfort auf dem Pontes ist aber sehr gut und man hat viele verschiedene Positionen für die Füße.

Habe ich gut verkauft bekommen, war ja in neuwertigem Zustand. Hätte ich gerne behalten, aber so viele Bikes gleichzeitig kann ich mir auch nicht leisten :-D
