- “Game of Thrones” star John Bradley explained to Ellen that while he knows what happens at the end of the show, he still doesn’t know how the episode will play out. The actor also chatted with Ellen about the much-talked-about episode “Battle of Winterfell,” and how he didn’t expect his character, Sam, to survive.

This is one of the best interviews on Ellen, mainly because
1) He isn't trying too hard to be funny, Ellen too.
2) The interview did not feel staged at all, his answers felt like they were from his heart.
3) Questions were about him, not his fame, his appearance or other people.
4) He is so good with words on and off the show it's amazing
Nothing fake or unreal about this interview. It's genuine and heartwarming. 10/10!

@@itsSloMo I think it's good that the show still focuses on smaller story lines. That way we get to see how the war affects people's lifes and it becomes more meaningfull (at least for me).

Not sure what the problem for people was. Turned my lights out and had no problems following any of it. The occasional parts that they shot close frame I just figured were intentional to build tension for the viewer. And it worked amazingly well.
@@doublestrokeroll Lighting is not a major concern for most of the people. The main problem for most of them was the Transformers like story writing and editing where you couldn't figure out who is fighting who.

some scenes were too dark, i get he wanted to us to feel like we were in it but c'mon. Lord of the rings had plenty of Night scenes and were shot Beautifully.

Aaron anthony - i watched on my laptop, 720pixel quality in pure darkness and I had absolutely no issues seeing every aspect and knowing exactly what was going on. Maybe I have supernatural advanced eye sight or some peoples video quality experience wasn’t at its capacity.

What I like is that Sam shows courage isn't just in fighting battles...
That his courage is in other things too like looking after Jilly or saving Jorah of his Greyscale infection while putting his own life at risk for getting the infection too.

If anything, Bran can write the books since they consist of POV chapters and Bran can see anything anytime in history(mostly)

When I first saw Sam in GoT I thought oh okay he's too weak and he's not gonna survive long and now the 8th season and he's still living!
Like him as a character too but he survived due to his armor. Super plot armor.

I love Sam as much as the next man. But there no way he should have survived that battle
He should’ve been in the crypts. Nothing about his character makes sense for him to go out and fight, he even gave away his family sword to Jorah
Agreed, they should have had him run away and hide for a little...just doesn’t make sense. Same for Jamie and Brienne - even though I’m happy they did live.
I think it just showed how inwardly tough he was. He was fighting his own demons from learning about his family's deaths. He went into survival mode.

Not necessarily. Things are shot not always in the order that they are shown. Plus he could've stayed on set an extra week or two because that's been his family for 10 years
AND THE NEW KING IS...
That could be taken as both an ending to the show in its entirety but also could mean "We definitely shot an ending (for sam)" because as many GOT actors have said 'They only receive their lines' so i feel the word "End/Ending" is used very loosely on the set of GOT :)
