- EDIT: At 39:20 I mention tool storage ...One of the comments from "lamandyf" points out that you can store 2 accessories in the little slots just above the male fitting (1 front & 1 back) without the need for a female to female adapter ...Thanks for that ...I hadn't spotted it at all....
This is an unboxing and install including drilling wall etc of the 25m Verve auto retracting wall mounted hose reel from B&Q
Apart from the colour it's exactly the same as the one from Screwfix (both companies are owned by Kingfisher) but this is £8 cheaper AND has a much longer warranty period.
Full detailed review inc demo in use.

Hi Everyone
This channel (Tom's Man Shed) will occasionally contain affiliate links, which means I receive a small commission on a purchase without any additional cost to you, if you buy something through my links.
Many of my reviews are on tools and stuff from Lidl who I have no association with whatsoever (other than a regular customer) and I receive no commission from them ... I buy all the items.
I will only include links to items used in the videos which will mainly be Amazon (sometimes Ebay) ones as that's my preferred site for buying stuff ....if the link includes any affiliate commission I will include the word "affiliated" before the link.
If you do purchase an item through my affiliate link thank you so much for your support as every little penny helps me do the reviews.

Brilliant. Viewed this video before I finalized the purchase on B&Q online. Thanks for the detailed description of the product. 👍👍👍
Hi Gary..thanks for the kind words .glad it helped...have used mine many times inc making yesterdays vid and its been fine.
Or place the hose in boiling water ( in a cup ) for needed suppleness
If you look just above the blank male hose connector at the pivot, there is a little cutout that you can use to slide in any attachments without having to get a female to female adapter.
Thanks for that...well spotted....I have added it to the description above and given you thanks....must go to Specsavers :)
Excellent video Tom. Thanks 😊
Thanks Colin
Hi Tom, it’s really great to see someone in the world, that utilises the screwdriver as a hammer also (multifunctional tool) great video mate, just on a side note, instead of using gaffer tape to seal the hole when it’s pouring down, you should drill a few holes in the bottom of the unit. 1 - it will safe the tape.. 2 - it will aerate with the wider gap after its rained, also draining out of the holes you make in the bottom.. just a observation mate. Great video as always, keep up the great job, can’t wait to see part 2 to the air conditioner.. cheers mate 🤙🏼🇦🇺

Hi Joe...nice to hear from you again....LOL re screwdriver...yes hammers, scribers, etc they are as you say really useful :)
that's a good idea re the holes but thing is it would give them the slightest excuse to say it had invalidated the guarantee should something go wrong.
After the 5 years is up if it (or indeed I ) is still here then I would definitely do it. :)
Re the AC unit....yes have filmed the airflow and noise measurement bits ...just waiting for some hot weather again (should have bought it a month earlier) to do the full tests....from the use so far though I love it......stay tuned :)
@@TomsManShed all good mate, only the good go young, you and I are here for along time. Might possibly be something to mention to the company, as it’s flaw, who knows they may give you extra year’s warranty or send you something free.. just a thought mate. Keep up the awesomeness mate 🤙🏼🇦🇺

Tom how I wish I had a teacher like you when I went to school. You explain everything so well. At school in my day the teachers seemed to cater for the quick learners and the slower kids were left scratching their heads. And I know by watching your videos on other subjects you can be quite technical if that is what is required. PS great outtake.
Cheers Brian
Wow that is REALLY nice of you Brian...these comments mean a lot to me and make doing the vids worthwhile
Tom I’d appreciate your view on a screen protector for your infotainment screen on your MG. For what they are they seem expensive, but maybe worth it.
Cheers Brian
@@joetheblowjoetheblowdave968 Hi Brian...I haven't used one on the car but have used both types on my phone.
The mineral glass ones are certainly clearer (and stay so) but I've found they tend to get tiny cracks at their edges....probably as they were in contact with other stuff in my pocket like keys and coins.....the very reason I need a screen protector on my phone.
Because of this I am back using the standard flexible plastic ones now...which work well enough for scratch protection.
Have never felt the need for one in the car as nothing comes into contact with it other than my finger plus I do very low mileage so have never had any problem with scratches in the past
@@TomsManShed Thank you Tom for your opinion on the infotainment protection cover.
BTW when you first bought your MG ZS EV I was so impressed by your reporting that I too bought one in white and it has turned out pretty good over the last three years. So like you I ordered the long range Trophy and like you was kept waiting too long, and I know you eventually bought the other MG model. So my tale was very similar in fact MG Gallaghers of Warrington wrote to me to say they had given up the franchise with MG. I could go on but I don’t want to bore you too long.
Good luck Brian
Excellent, thorough review Tom, from beginning to end!
Thanks Brian that's really nice of you to say....I appreciate it.
Wonder if a waterproof cover could be an option for when its raining etc
Hi Ollie...yes that's a good idea...would also protect the plastic from UV light in summer....maybe a project for me for the summer :)
How do you remove the bit of hose that goes from the reel to the tap? Have removed the grip screw and brace but won’t budge?
Hi ...I have just looked on mine and it must just be that the hose is an EXTREMELY tight fit on the white plastic "spout"
What I would do is slice it off with a Stanley Knife (craft knife) ...being careful not to cut into the plastic spout...then when you come to refit it (or a different one) dip the end of the pipe in boiling water for a minute or so to soften it up
Looks flimsy.
It doesn't seem flimsy "in the flesh" so to speak....As mentioned it certainly isn't up to the quality of the moldings of a Gardena one but then again it's half the price.
Time will tell I suppose but the 3 year guarantee is a bit of comfort...who knows.....may put an update on reliability after a year or so.
@@TomsManShed There's a saying "Buy cheap, buy twice." We'll see.
