    Emotional SOT from lady who lost all. Building and homes completely destroyed. Concrete structures pulverized into piles of rubble. National Guard delivering first aid to island. Lady cries as she sorts through belongings on second story of home as giant ship sits in front of home.

So much damage here everywhere still, it will never be the same again. The damage in the Bahamas is total and complete devastation. Well keep in mind that most of Andrews damage came from wind.
      Also Dorian has quite an advantage, as the steering currents moving him were weak and therefore, a slower moving storm; which adds the damage. Not to mention the fact that Dorian might as well have been over the ocean because the islands it hit were so small and low elevated.

      Sparing many lives? Decided to take as many as he possibly could. Hurricane Maria took 3057 people out of almost 4 million. Dorian probably took thousands out of populations of 17,000 and 50,000. This was about the worst situation you could ever possibly have happen for the bahamas. One of the most powerful hurricanes ever recorded sitting over 2 islands barely weakening as it stalled for over 24 hours with its fierce 185mph winds. It barely weakened because the islands were so small and had to wait until upwelled water effected its strength. We will probably never see another storm of this devastation in our lifetimes.

      2 choices. 1- If God exist and he is so infinitly good, he would have never done this to human kind. Kill innocents, children, make people suffer. I have enough of this. 2- If God does not exist, there is no way talkng about god in anything. And a real God does not kill innocent, children, make people suffer. There is a lot of things we don't know yet about science and creation so stop saying anything just for fun. Don't tell me either that a God created planet solar system etc... created men to destroy everything after. Wake up people lol.

      @@sergelavallee913I have heard The Bahamas are a beautiful place ..like much of the beauty we see on earth it is all evidence that speaks of a loving kind and good Heavenly Father and Creator. It is UNDENIABLE that a great intelligent loving being is the designer behind all creation.. Many of The survivors own testimonies of what happened in Dorien was their experience that God was with them in the storm and they cried out to Him for help and He saved them!
      Man is their own demise since God gave the earth to man and respects our free will CHOICES..to obey His laws or NOT..being a gentlemen i have learned He usually does not intervene in our lives or affairs unless we ask Him...like the many Christians who are praying asking for the people in the Bahamas to be helped before during after this storm. . We are all very sad for these peoples suffering had no intention of laying it at the Door of God causing it..only to say nature is definitely one way we can see His awesomeness and power displayed in a fearful way. Since these catastrophies are becoming more common occurrences on earth as the Bible says they will maybe we should all take heed repent of our sins against Him..and look up to the only one who can save us.

    It's like Andrew and Mexico Beach combined... hopefully future generations will learn from this suffering and destruction and next time run from a Cat 5 hurricane. This is not just some hurricane once it hits 4 and up; it's THE HURRICANE and you better respect it and run or your life is forfeit. One blessing with this storm was that the slow movement and large eye worked together to let many who would have perished run for cover and survive where they wouldn't have otherwise; alot of people lucky to be alive.

      Yeah, lecture people who just went through hell and might be there for some time, about the ease of stopping your entire life, and fleeing a remote island on less than a days notice. The thousands of dirt poor haitian illegal aliens also could not have left to a safe island given their dubious legal status and lack of $.

    • @Zazuban
      @Zazuban Před 4 lety +2

      @@bjkarana Dorian had taken direct aim at the Bahamas by Friday at 5pm and impact was Sunday at 2pm so they had two full days to flee and decide. On the ground reporting has alot of people saying that they chose to stay due to riding out past storms; figuring it was just the same as any other past hurricane. People make the mistake of thinking this and end up dying almost every year to this; putting entire families at risk. If people don't stop their daily life and flee they end up dying and stopping their life either way. Break the cycle, starting thinking and doing research and be proactive in reacting to how the planet changes. Alot of people are the thinking same way as these victims in disaster prone regions; never bothering to worry or prepare until disaster strikes them personally. There is a reason why weather crews on TV drill the same thing into peoples heads about taking thing seriously because people still don't and won't until it is to late. I feel horrible about everything that happened but people need to learn from the past and horrible mistakes of others.

    I've seen comments on other Dorian videos like "build with concrete, not wood" and things like that. People have no idea what water can do and most of the damage was done by water. Some survivors say 30' storm surge came over Marsh Harbour. What civilian structure can withstand that?

      sandy f amen. It’s gunna be hard. Hard and stressful. But? So worth it. We lost everything in the great flood of 2016 90% of our town went under. We were in a even n driveway ripping everything out our hose 5fr down. And redoing. I fell ill (had been before the flood but just ignored it) ended up in icu with Throat cancer and in icu with a trach and came home two times and ended back in hospital. After about 5 months we were back in only to find out the house was leaking carbon monoxide. Had I not kept laundry window open about 4 inches we would have been dead.

      Yes most of this video is near the water , but some concrete buildings on hills lost roofs too , and those roofs flying off hit other concrete buildings and destroyed them.
      Concrete is definitely alot stronger but a cat 5 with tornadoes can still take some down .
