Emotional SOT from lady who lost all. Building and homes completely destroyed. Concrete structures pulverized into piles of rubble. National Guard delivering first aid to island. Lady cries as she sorts through belongings on second story of home as giant ship sits in front of home.
I have no words... That woman at the end brought tears to my eyes. I can’t even begin to image what the survivors are feeling. Much love to them all!
Prayers for them
Thank you for sharing this raw video...it tells the story with much more impact than most of the sensationalized TV news coverage. God bless!
Holy moly, that's such massive devastation! Sending all our love n thoughts to people. Hope they are strong enough to get through this massive life changing event. Love from Australia!
I would hope and pray that the international communities will move in and put this place together for the sake of the people who have lost everything and deserve to see some gesture of kindness extended to them in their hour if need.
God... raised to be a first responder, how I wish I wasn't disabled... A firemen and EMT the day I turned 18,and at my first commercial Mohawk airliner crash at 14... I'd be there in a heartbeat.
...... my heart goes out to all affected. God Bless.
This is too devastating to watch. Lord Jesus Christ bless you and heals you all.
@@rhondaclark716 blessed your president Trump and the US. The institution needs to supervise all donation on affected area.
@kasey LOCKRIDGE u r ghetto.
Good video showing how it truly is. Praying 🙏 for all the survivors. Almost one year later and we are still trying to recover from Michael. So much damage here everywhere still, it will never be the same again. The damage in the Bahamas is total and complete devastation. I just pray for them to get off that island and rest somewhere in civilization to get some relief. I'm sure they are exhausted, mentally and physically.
God Bless you all 🥺 I can’t help but tear up every time I see what has happened here. My gosh where do you even begin to start going forward ⁉️
Praying for them, it's all I have to offer.
There's another hurricane headed in their direction. I'd get off that damn island as quick as I can. People are smelling decaying bodies etc. They are going to need a lot of international assistance with this horrific disaster.
Right, some people wanted to stay. How can you recover from something so drastic. I would be out of there.
Many Bahamians can’t get out, they’ve lost their ID and documents in the hurricane and because there are many illegals from Haiti etc, without documentation they cannot go to America, because America won’t admit illegals so many genuine Bahamians are stuck at the airport with no where to go.
Chris Trinder 😢😢😢 my apologies for not even considering that. So true. How horrible. 💔 Prayers for all of the survivors going through it right this moment.
this is why i would never live on those islands...
No dam hurricane. Them shits is water bombs government is destroying that island..
Where do you start?
Such a beautiful island and now just a total tragedy
Write to your local representative and request them to help these beautiful people, we need all hands on deck!
I’m just so so sorry
So glad to see that help has arrived!
Praying 4 Bahamas 🇧🇸 sending lots of love from NYC
Very, Very OVERWHELMING!!! Where would you began???? BTW how many young, strong, service men does it take to unload bottled water????
I'm not being mean. I'm glad these guys are there to help and will be. It just looked like out of 8 guys 4 could go do something else.
@Anne* 411 Haha i seen that and i laughed so hard like wtf.
I was just thinking before the shot of those guys unloading the water. Where is the national guard.
After Katrina we had the national guard on the Mississippi gulf coast to come in and collect bodies and clean up debri. That is something that can be done by a well trained and determined military unit.
@@Sandy-pr5qq I live in HATTIESBURG. I didn't then BUT was in NEW ORLEANS that weekend from DALLAS. I came here and stayed during the storm. It's really unbelievable the damage, even here in HATTIESBURG. YOU HAVE A TRUE VIEW OF WHAT THESE PEOPLE ARE GOING THROUGH. I think you have to live it to believe it. Pics. can't show it!!!!
@@whynot2644 you are right. When i saw all of those videos it brought it all back. If you have lived it you know what they are going through.
Looks like a nuclear bomb went off. I am crying as I watch this.
Thats exactly what happened no hurricane is standing still for 18 plus hours in one spot something else going on. The people who endured this said themselves this was not a hurricane
joshua santiago am crying too
My mom and Dad and relatives lost their homes and town in the Paradise fire last November..my Dad died from bei g out of his medical care and home from a long battle with emphysema ..it was all just to much...my heart breaks for these people😞at least people in Paradise could get immediate help and go to family or friends...but this is a whole island that looks like Arrmagedon just happened..what the hell do you do and where can you go? Tears and prayers ...hoping international help arrives soon not just six guys unloading a pallet of water..lame

At this point with all the looting most people wouldn't leave their home.

Wow Looks like Hurricane Katrina except we stayed underwater for a long time then this is what looked like after. I feel their pain😕❤
@kasey LOCKRIDGE You're right, we never recovered. I'm still displaced. We had to move to a different neighborhood. I'm still traumatized from seeing people die from heat exhaustion and drowning. You never forget the smell of death:(
Hurricane Andrew was horrible but not even close to this.
Tim Whit
Well keep in mind that most of Andrews damage came from wind.
Also Dorian has quite an advantage, as the steering currents moving him were weak and therefore, a slower moving storm; which adds the damage. Not to mention the fact that Dorian might as well have been over the ocean because the islands it hit were so small and low elevated.
Where is the help? Where are the militaries from the UN, America, Britain? Lord Jesus Protect these people.
America is helping
1-25 they are UK soldiers bringing aid
Yeah considering when Notre Dame burned and with in 2 days BILLIONS were donated to the reconstruction with NO IDEA the cost....go figure huh?!?!
Look at the suffering of THOUSANDS!!!WTF are the rich and famous and so called righteous types that consistently tell us we are bad people?
Remember LIVE AID?FARM AID?Sting did a concert for the island of Montserrat.
Where are the benefit concerts?
Thoughts and prayers my ass, people need to send cash and assistance and if the shoe fits wear it.
They seem to have been told to stay out of town.
Hundreds were at the docks and airport dropping supplies .
Praying for all. My heart is breaking for everyone who is suffering, its truly horrific
That is eye-opening, to see steel reinforced concrete shattered to nothing. The force of a single cubic yard of water hitting a wall must be around the weight of that water, so 1700 lbs +.
She’s 53 years old and still have her life. So many others didn’t make it.Material items can be bought again.
Well, that was easy. People should just be radiant.

Feeling the Fear of God watching this video what a powerful storm.but Thanking Him for His mercies in sparing many lives. Such devastation. So sorry for all the people who have had so much loss. 😢
With you, Sheree.
Sparing many lives? Decided to take as many as he possibly could. Hurricane Maria took 3057 people out of almost 4 million. Dorian probably took thousands out of populations of 17,000 and 50,000. This was about the worst situation you could ever possibly have happen for the bahamas. One of the most powerful hurricanes ever recorded sitting over 2 islands barely weakening as it stalled for over 24 hours with its fierce 185mph winds. It barely weakened because the islands were so small and had to wait until upwelled water effected its strength. We will probably never see another storm of this devastation in our lifetimes.
2 choices. 1- If God exist and he is so infinitly good, he would have never done this to human kind. Kill innocents, children, make people suffer. I have enough of this. 2- If God does not exist, there is no way talkng about god in anything. And a real God does not kill innocent, children, make people suffer. There is a lot of things we don't know yet about science and creation so stop saying anything just for fun. Don't tell me either that a God created planet solar system etc... created men to destroy everything after. Wake up people lol.
@@sergelavallee913I have heard The Bahamas are a beautiful place ..like much of the beauty we see on earth it is all evidence that speaks of a loving kind and good Heavenly Father and Creator. It is UNDENIABLE that a great intelligent loving being is the designer behind all creation.. Many of The survivors own testimonies of what happened in Dorien was their experience that God was with them in the storm and they cried out to Him for help and He saved them!
Man is their own demise since God gave the earth to man and respects our free will CHOICES..to obey His laws or NOT..being a gentlemen i have learned He usually does not intervene in our lives or affairs unless we ask Him...like the many Christians who are praying asking for the people in the Bahamas to be helped before during after this storm. . We are all very sad for these peoples suffering had no intention of laying it at the Door of God causing it..only to say nature is definitely one way we can see His awesomeness and power displayed in a fearful way. Since these catastrophies are becoming more common occurrences on earth as the Bible says they will maybe we should all take heed repent of our sins against Him..and look up to the only one who can save us.
@@sherryB5 That's why God did let die so many innocent people there. The fact is that we are not intelligent enough, our QI is not high enough to know where we come from. Like animals, a cat will never know 2+2=4 lol. Maybe in 1000 years the men, if he still on earth, which i doubt, maybe he will really discover where he comes , really comes from. The men beleive in god because they are afraid of death and they give themselve a security that after death there is something but i'm sorry, when you will die, it will be finish, nothing. I speak with experience of my own life. I won't detail, sorry. Take care.
Heartbreaking 😢
It's like Andrew and Mexico Beach combined... hopefully future generations will learn from this suffering and destruction and next time run from a Cat 5 hurricane. This is not just some hurricane once it hits 4 and up; it's THE HURRICANE and you better respect it and run or your life is forfeit. One blessing with this storm was that the slow movement and large eye worked together to let many who would have perished run for cover and survive where they wouldn't have otherwise; alot of people lucky to be alive.
Yeah, lecture people who just went through hell and might be there for some time, about the ease of stopping your entire life, and fleeing a remote island on less than a days notice. The thousands of dirt poor haitian illegal aliens also could not have left to a safe island given their dubious legal status and lack of $.
@@bjkarana Dorian had taken direct aim at the Bahamas by Friday at 5pm and impact was Sunday at 2pm so they had two full days to flee and decide. On the ground reporting has alot of people saying that they chose to stay due to riding out past storms; figuring it was just the same as any other past hurricane. People make the mistake of thinking this and end up dying almost every year to this; putting entire families at risk. If people don't stop their daily life and flee they end up dying and stopping their life either way. Break the cycle, starting thinking and doing research and be proactive in reacting to how the planet changes. Alot of people are the thinking same way as these victims in disaster prone regions; never bothering to worry or prepare until disaster strikes them personally. There is a reason why weather crews on TV drill the same thing into peoples heads about taking thing seriously because people still don't and won't until it is to late. I feel horrible about everything that happened but people need to learn from the past and horrible mistakes of others.
@@Zazuban from the interviews i have seen, those who survived are likely to leave the islands for good, considering abaco is a mass grave now. My point is that it's different here in the U.S. where we can flee inland and have far more resources, both personal and public, that the Out Islands just don't have, making it hard to mass evacuate to safety ahead of a far reaching storm. Edit:typo.
Zazuban
Andrew and Michael combined?
That’s a little over board there buddy.
I don't understand people's fascination with building close to the ocean. Build on high ground.
There isn't any high ground in the Bahamas.
@@someotherdude So don't build there.
eyes in the sky😳
What was the time stamp
If I were to rebuild, it would be a Dome home to handle the Hurricanes.
You'd die. You have to build on piers (stilts, or legs) on the slightly higher ground, if you want to pull through a storm like this. Then think about 'windage'. A dome is good for retaining heat and for compression loads, like snow loads.
Cobtainer van its better..
the natives to these tropical hurricane prone islands used to tie their loved ones to the palm trees, to keep them from being blown away in those sorts of winds...
My deepest thoughts and prayers for all affected by this TRAGEDY. This is devastation beyond any imagination. I cried through a few of these. I wish I was in the position to help and send boats full of everything from Clothes to materials to gold and anything else needed to get a start back. They have no where to go. There is not one place standing to get anything from. Can’t even land a plane. Get the ships there. I think they should have been more south and coming in from behind after passing so far. This is inhuman. These wonderful people are crying Bc they lost everything. There is no help there. No food. No safe place to sleep. Cook. This is like a nightmare. May god wrap his arms around each an everyone and bless you all beyond measures. You are all very strong women and men. You have my prayers. I know anything helps. I just need a legit donation site to send pop up housing (until rebuild) out of sun. Bless all who have donated. We have so many celebrities that can and I pray they jump and donate to the right organization. God please heat our cries to u. For we know, when we walk through deep waters, you will be with us. Amen.
they have planes getting supplies to pretty much every island affected and also air drops and boats getting in
Where are 1/2 milllion people gonna live?
About 70,000 actually....
In the US i guess🙏
we don't even have one million citizens. Our population is maybe 400,000. Look the whole Bahamas wasn't destroyed. 2 of our larger more densely population islands got hit. Along with their surrounding cays. As another person said 70,000 people is a more accurate estimate. Still i'm not sure if that number includes all the illegal immigrant population and miscellaneous foreigners and tourist who didn't evacuate.
At your house

I've seen comments on other Dorian videos like "build with concrete, not wood" and things like that. People have no idea what water can do and most of the damage was done by water. Some survivors say 30' storm surge came over Marsh Harbour. What civilian structure can withstand that?
You will come back. Take it from a Katrina survivor. You will be alright. You will never forget but you will survive.
sandy f amen. It’s gunna be hard. Hard and stressful. But? So worth it. We lost everything in the great flood of 2016 90% of our town went under. We were in a even n driveway ripping everything out our hose 5fr down. And redoing. I fell ill (had been before the flood but just ignored it) ended up in icu with Throat cancer and in icu with a trach and came home two times and ended back in hospital. After about 5 months we were back in only to find out the house was leaking carbon monoxide. Had I not kept laundry window open about 4 inches we would have been dead.

Broken concrete, must be high water damage.
Yes most of this video is near the water , but some concrete buildings on hills lost roofs too , and those roofs flying off hit other concrete buildings and destroyed them.
Concrete is definitely alot stronger but a cat 5 with tornadoes can still take some down .
