  • Indulge in the delightful flavors of lepinja, airy, slightly soft, and juicy flatbreads that are beloved throughout the Balkans in southeastern Europe. These versatile breads have captured the hearts and palates of many, and once you've tasted them, there's no turning back.
While it's common to substitute lepinja with pita bread in certain dishes, I've found that nothing quite compares to the homemade goodness of lepinja. Once you've experienced the joy of baking these flatbreads yourself, you'll never go back to the store-bought alternatives.
Lepinja is the perfect vessel for opening up and filling with mouthwatering delights such as cevapcici or pljeskavica, creating a culinary experience that's both comforting and satisfying.
This recipe yields enough dough for 8 pieces of bread, and while you can fit 4 pieces on a normal-sized baking sheet, I recommend making 3 pieces at a time if you prefer perfectly round lepinja.
Join me as I guide you through the process of creating these authentic Balkan flatbreads, sure to elevate any meal to new heights.
