Fabulous first ski day of the season yesterday at Majelletta WE (a 45 minute drive from where we live) where you feel on top of the world when you look across from the Majella National Park to the Gran Sasso National Park; to your left the Sirente Parco Naturale Regionale Sirente Velino and to your right you can see down to Pescara and the Adriatic Sea. Apparently on an extremely clear day you can see Croatia!!!
This is a great little resort with a mix of blue and red runs to keep you occupied during the day and what's more at 31 Euros a day ticket it really is a bargain! (You can use the same ticket at Passo Lanciano just down the road where the pistes run through trees - chair lifts there and button lifts at Majelletta WE).
Unfortunately our daughter Safina wasn't feeling well so missed out but we still ended up with two kids as Rocco brought his school friend with us. His friend had all sorts of issues with his boots and bindings and even though they were his own, the friendly and helpful staff in the ski hire shop were more than happy to help! All issues fixed and the boys were happily skiing off together.
Hope you enjoy this video, we'd love it if you were to give it a like and leave a comment. Please do subscribe to our channel if you haven’t already; it means a lot to us. Grazie! ♥️

Thank you 😊 Glad you enjoyed it. In fact I had not intention of making a video that day and everything was shot on my iphone. It was just that at the end of the day I thought it had just been too marvelous a day not to share. Such a great ski resort... one of many here in Abruzzo!

Thanks for posting this. I have wondered for a while what skiing is like in Abruzzo. Cheers from Canada.

Thanks for watching and your comment. There are a few resorts in Abruzzo but each one is very different. In fact we have Italy's 5th largest resort here called Roccaraso which has some great bars, in particular one outdoor one with a DJ. I also really love Ovindoli small but great choice of runs and lovely atmosphere, Campo Imperatore - currently awaiting the opening of the Funivia to get you up there. You ski on the Campo Imperatore with the Corno Grande right there in your face and then my all time favourite of all the resorts, which is also one of the bigger ones, Campo Felice. In fact, if you look at the Shorts on this channel the first 5 I ever posted are of all the 5 resorts I mention. I'm sure we will make some longer videos of some of the resorts at some point. They are wonderful resorts for all different levels but we don't have Double Black Diamond pistes like you have in Canada!!! OMG I have very clear memories of skiing down one of those in Whistler with my friend Andrea giggling nervously all the way from top to bottom!

Hi there we love your videos and watch regularly from Australia. Husband's family is from Abruzzo and we have visited several times. We will be back in July this year and hope to make it to Rocca Calascio (we have tried several times in the winter and we didn't make it). We watched a video a while ago now of an e-bike tour company that takes you through Santo Stefano di Sessanio, Rocca Calascio and Campo Imperile. Can you point me in the direction of that video or would you have the tour name handy?

So glad you like our videos, thanks so much 😊 If you can send us an email then we can help you arrange the ebike tour.
