- I wanted to show you a special place in my heart in Italy, that not many tourists from North America let alone anywhere really venture off to, the region of Abruzzo. The region of Abruzzo is truly undiscovered and I hope this video sheds some light on it as it really deserves to get far more recognition as a place to visit in Italy.
This film will show you the many incredible things about the region of Abruzzo, from the incredible local delicacies like Arrosticini, a staple of the region, to trying some good albeit very strange food on a Trabboci on the coast of the Adriatic and tasting some of the local Montepulciano wines.
Called the green lung of Italy, most of Abruzzo is covered in National Parks and they are some of the most incredible you will ever see! Besides exploring the many national parks at your disposal, another one of my favourite things to do in Abruzzo is explore the many mediavel villages, with such untouched beauty that you feel as though you've stepped back in time.
I hope that you enjoy this video and make sure to LIKE the video, it really does make a huge difference and SUBSCRIBE!

I've been working very hard on these videos so make sure to LIKE the video it really helps it get pushed out!
Great video ... but damn, why do you expose the gems to everyone??? Now people will ruin the small Abruzzo towns as they have all the other tourist ladder cities and towns.
@@amikailua9504 Have some faith haha I'd like to think that I'm a responsible tourist and hopefully I'm not the only one that is...
Abruzzo has about 75% of the fauna of Europe, many protected areas, bear, wolf, golden eagle, owl, newt, badger, fox, Abruzzese shepherd dog, green region of Europe, as well as a beautiful sea, castles and villages with great panoramic views. If you are looking for nature and relaxation away from the usual "suffocating" holiday spots in Italy, Abruzzo is the best place
It truly does have everything you need. Many people are not comfortable going off the beaten path a little but sometimes when you take risks and explore the unknown you will be rewarded for it and Abruzzo is definitely one of those places that is slept on by tourists!
75% Ahahahahahahabahahahahahahahahahahah television destroyed humanity unbelievable, they don't reasoning anymore, they just repeat the televised propaganda PROGRAMS like parrots of institutional zombies LAND LOLOL WITHOUT scientific methodology.
@@nexussymbiosis9270 ah?! The Abruzzi biodiversity is unmatched, and I say that as not from abruzzi. Man.
My greatgrampa Angelo Antidormi and his family descend from this gorgeous province. 1:56
I’ve been to Abruzzo 10 times, it’s where my parents are from & I fall in love with it every time I visit it again! Definitely a treasure of Italy ❤️
This was my second time going and I'm already looking forward to going back to Abruzzo someday!
Im from Abruzzo, and i think the region should pay you for that touristic endorsement 😅
Well done!
That's such a huge compliment I'd love to be able to work with the tourism board there! Got any contacts there? haha
Beautiful! My partner is from Abruzzo and I've been coming here for 3 years. ❤️
He's lucky to be from there! It's so beautiful!
I am abruzzese and I really thank you because you gave a spotlight to my beautiful region. Greetings from Francavilla al Mare❤
Happy you enjoyed the video!
This is where my family started at. My great great grand father came from here to Philadelphia and I even found his name on Ellis Island. I have to visit here.
Definitely need to visit Abruzzo at least once!
My grandfather as well … all lived in south Philadelphia
@@user-zz6vo3de1i yea my entire family too. They lived at 9th and Federal. Some lived at 2nd and Reed. They just set up shop down there.
Mine too! Specifically from Bisenti and settled in Philadelphia 🙂
Mine too! Also Phila
We love Abruzzo. It will be the next Tuscany. We love Palazzo Ricci at Casoli Abruzzo ❤️🇨🇮
I agree! It has to blow up eventually it's too beautiful!
La Toscana per l'arte e la cultura, l'Abruzzo per la natura, due mete ideali per apprezzare e conoscere l'Italia.
my family and I lived in Penne for 6 years. we just returned yesterday from visiting our home hear Santa Croce.. what an amazing thing to have found your video
That's so kind of you to say! Thanks :)

You've done a good job with this! I was really feeling home sick and this made me happy to see someone enjoy Abruzzo as much as I do! My family is from Penne and I saw a few little b-role clips from there, I hope you enjoyed it too!! Thank you! keep creating!
Thank you so much! I loved walking around Penne and all the other beautiful medieval towns in Abruzzo!
I had wondered is penne from penne?
@@jennavidal585 You'd think it would be but I don't think so haha
Excellent watch and good to see a few nice shots of Torre Raone, a tower I walk to every day.
Lucky you get to see that view everyday! My uncle is good friends with the owners of that winery!
My dream country is Italy,so much beauty and variety ❤️🇮🇹
Italy really does have everything you'd want in a country!
Wow, very well done! Great video … again … Joe!

Greetings, fellow Canadian 😊
Great job on your videos, Joe! You really put a lot of time into editing your beautiful footage, drone and handheld shots. Really appreciate the end result!
We’re heading to Italy in May and will have 3 days in Abruzzo. Your vids make me wish we had reserved all our time there. Hopefully next time. Thanks again!
Happy you enjoyed the video! I'm sure that after those three days it will leave you want to go back there again!
Love this and subscribed! Goodluck😀

Stunning
Thanks Steve!
Thank u buddy my late father was from there so happy to see this
He lived in a truly beautiful place! Happy you liked the video!
nice work Joe
Thank you Gavin!
Good job! Arrosticini is the best
Probably the best food in the region!
loved the video, thank you for sharing your adventure. although I would skip the snakes!
Even thought the snake festival was a culture shock I definitely recommend going if you can haha
Great video! Whats the name of the Arrosticini place you visited/showed?
that was at my uncles villa! We just bought some at a local butcher and cooked it at his place!
Nice job. What’s the name of the restaurant on the coast. Food looks awesome.
I'd have to ask my uncle it was his friends restaurant!
Back to when people didn't forget how to live together in communities.
I love how close knit many of these small villages are in Italy!
Great video. What was the last dish they were making?
Thank you!!! Do you mean the pasta at the end?
Abruzzo and Marche got nothing less than Tuscany. Very underrated regions. Most of the Italians are not so skilled to promote their home...
I have not been to Tuscany but I almost feel like since I've been to Abruzzo a few times now I don't really feel the need to go!
Il mio Abruzzo ❤️❤️
I love Abruzzo!
Cooking the Arrosticini (also known as Spiedini) requires Salt and Lemon to be added generously while on the bbq!
Good job on the video!
I haven't seen anyone use lemon yet but I will try this in a few days it sounds great!(I'm back in Abruzzo for the next two weeks!)
👏👏👋
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Visiting in a few weeks.. mah I ask where the shot of the mountains are taken from exactly? Thanks
It's in Campo Imperatore! I made another video here that talks more about it! Enjoy your trip! czcams.com/video/JbxeLKq4gFo/video.html
My mom's side of the family is from there. I gotta go!
you really do it's one of my favourite places on earth!
My nan was born in La'quilla. My cousin died on the gran sasso. I'm trying to find info about it but having no luck.
my family is from here :)))
this is a sign to visit them!
Why you looking at the ground when climbing that hill😂
Why do you think this region didn't become popular like others? Not that's a negative thing, just curious about your opinion
Not really sure... I feel like tv and social media have just made the really popular places what they are today and most travellers don't like travelling to places that they haven't really heard of before. It's a nice part about going to Abruzzo is the lack of tourism makes it a better experience at least in my opinion!
The beginning looked promising but then it became too much about food. It's just like on FB where people post the food they got at a restaurant or that they made at home. I skipped those parts. What is left? Not much.
Food is a very important part of their culture
@@JoeClement But the video's title is Italy's best kept secret. We know Food is, so that's not a secret.
why do i get ads now
CZcams has changed their policy this year so now I can't control the ads anymore.... but on a positive note the ads do help me create more content although I know how annoying they can be sometimes haha
Yes best kept secret and we want to keep it secret without all the tourists that invade Tuscany and all the famous cities
Where is 0:28 at
It's called roccascalegna! I made a video about secret places in Italy and I talk abit about it in that video you should check it out! czcams.com/video/JbxeLKq4gFo/video.html
Bro im abbruzzese
you did it! but open up to the cuisine man!
haha trust me Giovanni I ate so many different things that I normally wouldn't
OMG! He's moving hot coals around while wearing sandals. Call WSIB!
haha we live dangerously in Italy
You really need to leave your food prejudices behind you, they will cause lots of problems in most countries. Not to mention deprivation of culinary beauty,
Well considering I did try every single thing that was presented to me I don't think I was prejudice towards their food it just wasn't my cup of tea
Abruzzzo's Gran Sasso mountain, journey to the heart of the labs where dark matter is sought czcams.com/video/sKpdt-WpGRo/video.html
Yeah Abruzzi is Italy's best kept secret because nobody wants to know anything about it and it's hard headed people.
The majority of the locals I met were very welcoming
@@JoeClement that's because you didn't get a chance to notice. People from Abruzzi are not like Sicilians for example. Abruzzi people have no loyalty and no respect....not talented at anything.... boring dull and interested in nothing. The ONLY motivation they have is to criticize others THAT'S IT! Look at that stupid Vincenzo's Plate on CZcams...the only thing he's passionate for is to criticize others! Abruzzi people are evil hearted.
My grandmother from Abruzzi claimed it was the Napolitano who was hard headed.😄
Joe, It was interesting until u decided to do nothing beside show us the intricate glories of Italian charcoal. Lame. Do better Jo Jo.
Try some arrosticini and get back to me
Popular dishes and traditions are not always ethical unfortunately. Go vegan and stop animal farming.
This is true but I feel like their way of farming is far more ethical than many other countries(coming from a Canadian)
You are awesome and know the secret of our culture.
There's still a lot about Abruzzo that I have yet to experience!
Italy 🇮🇹 🌞
