  • You have to know how to measure your wrist for a watch. But are you doing it the right way? There are 2 things you have to take into consideration when measuring your wrist size: how to properly do it and how it actually translates to a metal bracelet, leather band or nato strap size.

      Oh yeah you definitely have to open your hand. Depending on how your arm muscles are from a clinched fist to a splayed hand there could be a huge difference. I wasn’t sure if you measure it on the wrist bone or right behind it

    Great video! I have pretty much the same wrist size as you, what watch case diameter fits you the best. I thought all the watches you tried looked perfectly sized for your wrist. I want to avoid buying sizes that go beyond the width of my wrist.

      Yes I do! Just go a little larger than you would on a normal / cold day. Or else on hot days, you'll get a handcuff!

    I wanted to buy a Miltat Strap code End Mill Jubilee Bracelet for my Seiko King Turtle but my Wrist measures 242mm so it is impossible.

    16,5 cm = 6,5 inch here.
    Waiting for a 33 mm Casio and 38 mm Seiko 5 in the mail. My current 40 mm feels like the limit, but maybe 42 mm could work, too? Not sure...
    I'd like to try some in a store, but they are pretty intimidating, to be honest...

      Depends on the lug to lug size. Some smaller watches even wear bigger.

    I have a question, im a 1st timer rolex gmt master 2 owner, it is normal to a watch to stop running specially at night when ur not using it or when it's not fitted to ur wrist? Hope someone can answer.

      Probably wasn't wounded up all the way, and the power reserve is about a day and a half. So yes if you don't wear it it will stop working, mechanical watches are different from quartz watches.

      Always try watches which do not go past your wrist lug to lug. Although you could go a little overboard if you are muscular or longer limbs

    And you forgot to mention the scale of adjustment of the metal watch strap. The brochure said its length was 17.5 cm and my wrist 21 cm.

    I was surprised because I am a small person, my wrists seem rather small,. but they measure 7" and when I was shopping for a bracelet, John Hardy listed 6.75" to 7" as large, so I thought I was measuring wrong.

      Mine is 17 cm and it does not look any bigger than yours.I think the shape of the wrist is also important to fit the watch.

      i have a 15 cm wrist (150mm) and no, I'd say watches with a case diameter between 40-44mm look good on yours

      Not really. Aim for comfortable. If it means tight for you, then tight it is :)

      It depends on a person’s preference, but generally people like them to be tight enough to not slide around, but not tight enough to be uncomfortable and cut off the blood flow.

      It doesn’t have much to do with height, I’m 184cm and my 37mm looks good on me because I have skinny wrists. It does look a bit small compared to the size of my arms and hands
