HARDCORE NUZLOCKE RULES (POKEMON HARD MODE)

1. I can only try to catch the first Pokemon that I encounter in each area.
2. If a Pokemon faints it cannot be used for the remainder of the run.
3. If my whole team faints then the attempt is over.
4. No items in battle (held items are okay).
5. Set mode enabled.
6. I cannot over-level beyond the highest level of the next gym. The level cap is shown in the overlay.
7. No duplicate species can be caught. Encounters for species that I have caught previously are re-rolled.
8. Any shiny Pokemon can be caught regardless of whether it is the first encounter of an area.

As someone who picked Turtwig, I would like to use my comment (as I was told to comment for picking Turtwig) to point out that the editing in this video is excellent. You can clearly tell that it was done by a cultured individual with exquisite taste in starter Pokémon.

Turtwig is the goat though😂 in all seriousness, I’ve always been partial to the grass starters except for chikorita. I don’t think turtwig is as bad everyone thinks he is but I know he is far from the best. I chose him in my first playthrough of diamond and so I used him (it’s also really nice that I’ll be able to catch the other two after I get the national dex)

Torterra is honestly a really good mon. It hits hard, is tanky and has access to earthquake as soon as it evolves. The only drawbacks are that any ice move is likely to end it’s life, and it’s speed isn’t exactly great.
@@imab0t274 That's why you probably shouldn't use it against ice types! Speed also isn't a huge thing to worry about for bulky pokemon as most tanky pokemon trade speed for the bulk, it can take a hit so you don't have to worry about outspeeding basically.

Is it just me or is it really cool that this game has those, “*enter Pokémon name* landed a critical hit, wishing to be praised”, or the “*enter Pokémon name* hung on so you will not be sad” those little things make you more sucked into the game, let’s go eevee and pikachu had this to in a way.

Isn’t it forced upon you in the game though? If it was more optional I think it would be cooler in this game. And how come only your pokemon get this and not the elite 4? They have been with their Pokemon way longer than you have.
@@magmaspacer1967 it is forced but and I do agree with the fact that you should be able to turn them off, and the elite four will get them too... that would just make the elite four more powerful then they already are. And as MandJTV said, "I think it's really poetic that my affection to my Pokémon gives me power over the guy that doesn't." by the guy, he means cyrus.
@@Ji-mmy23 Yeah Cyrus not getting it makes sense. But logically at least the ace of the elite 4 should be able to get those friendship boosts. Or have a chance of it happening at least.

I don't think I've watched a single successful nuzlocke of this game, jeez it must be way harder than before. Which is NUTS since Cynthia was always seen as one of the hardest fights in Pokemon history.
That was rough, I'm about halfway through my run and the new move sets for Boss battles definitely make the game harder/unpredictable.

Piplup is amazing, it evolves into a water-steel type, has great coverage, gets flying type moves and can learn tons of moves from tm’s so now I have a Empoleon, that knows drill peck, steel wing, bubble beam, and rock tomb, overall piplup is amazing
As someone who’s middle name is CandAce, I appreciate the lack of jokes at the seventh gym leader.
I'm taking Turtwig one for the typing since its a great duel type and dear god the other two just look so bad to me most fire/fighting mon are great but I personally don't like the chimchar line plus my team will have a houndoom so it would be type overlap

I recommend nuz lock makes the game fun w out the grind! My first nuz lock went bad but I used no healing items and have to do the whole gym w out going back to a poke center! Roselia wiped my team out because I lost chim to a psychic Pokémon in the forest!

I defeated the whole elite 4 + cynthia with just a lvl 62 gyarados lol. This was however : with normal nuzlocke rules , so I was allowed to use x items and healing items ( no revives). A normal nuzlocke is wayyyy too easy , since I lost 0 pokemon. I am very interested in running a hardcore nuzlocke right now. I am afraid I will die at Cynthia too though lol. Well played sir💪
Gyarados is a S tier nuzlocke pokemon.

I chose Turtwig cause they're pretty tanky and have decent damage. Also at their last evolution (Torterra) their typings are Grass/Ground, which is 4x super effective against Infernape who's Fire/Fighting. Also my older brother and sister play pokemon as well so we made a pack that we can only use 1 starter type only forever. Cause I'm the youngest I was left with grass types.
