POKEMON NUZLOCKE RULES (HARD MODE) - THIS CHALLENGE:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. No wild Pokemon can be caught.
2. If a Pokemon faints it cannot be used for the remainder of that attempt.
3. If my whole team faints then the attempt is over.
4. I cannot overlevel beyond the highest level of the next gym.
5. No items in battle (held items are okay).
6. Set mode enabled.

Quality stuff, man. So glad to see you not give up and EV train your pokemon accordingly. It definitely came up clutch, especially in the elite 4, most notably in Jolteon's case. Keep up the good work. All the best :)

0:30 I'm really glad someone made this point. For this same reason, I always considered the pokemon choice in red and blue to essentially be the "difficulty" setting for the game. Bulbasaur is easy, squirtle is normal, charmander is hard.
7:45 - that’s a mood, I’m maxing out speed using Magikarp in Diamond as I watch this.
That EV grind can be painful...

Way to go! I didn't see anyone mention it and you had jolteon this time so it didn't matter but in the future going the bike route you can avoid a lot of battles and you might not need to do even that. If you aid from pallet town going all the way left you can avoid all battles and make it to blane's gym.
I knew that the bike route had less battles but I was scared of all the bulky poison mons there. It was longer but thought I'd be safer w/ Jolteon going the long way (even if there are WAY too many people there!)
Interesting challenge, great play, great video.
Unfortunately you failed to nickname a single Pokemon, so, these runs were all complete failures. Tragic.
I just want to say, your narration is excellent. Showing the failed attempts before got me hyped for the win in the end. Very enjoyable video.
That ending was crazy, amazing run - loving these hardcore runs with even more difficulty!
Some advice:
In the champion battle. What you could’ve done with exeggutor when a 3rd of your team was near death, you could have sacrifice jolteon since its not gonna have anymore use apart from charizard (which you had gyarados, aerodactyl, and omastar to counter it). Jolteon fainting could lead to aerodactyl using fly since it is of course faster and save a lot of issues. But amazing video nonetheless! I thought it was going to be impossible!
He also could have predicted the EQ from Rhydon and switch into Gyrados instead of Aerodactly and one shot it with surf...but hey, what are you going to do lol

You can also buy pokemon at Celadon City next to the game corner. That counts as not catching
That's what I was thinking! A Dratini or Nidoking would have been great at that point in the game!

You could’ve struggle trained magickarp on the first route by setting up leech seed, put healing all damage until he was out of pp. then left and trained magickarp on his own that way until tackle

you forget that magikarps stats are horrible. he would have been healing between every wild pokemon, especially if he had no potions(which are expensive that early in the game)

During the script writing for future videos, you may want to go through and change a lot of the "however" usage to other words or phrases, like "thankfully"/"unfortunately"/"sadly"/"luckily"/unluckily". Even just using "but" would flow better, due to it being monosyllabic and therefore less noticeable when used often
Changing up the inflection in your voice (stretching out the word and/or adding the sound of wincing) when you say some of these words every now and then also breaks it up in people's minds as they hear it, because using these words a lot is very much needed in videos like this with so many scary and RNG moments in the fights

i think you missed out on a great opportunity in celadon city to get an abra, clefairy, dratini, scyther/pinsir and/or a porygon.

maybe he forgot? maybe he actively decided to ignore them? or maybe he just thought he'd have an easier battle with the pokemon he already had.
either way, i'd say it's a valid question, and if he actively chose not to use them, i figured it would be worth mentioning why.

Great job, this was a though challenge. I have one complain tho, it's technicaly not a Nuzlock, since you got two pokemon at Saffron and two at cinnabar. Keep up the good work !

Making bulbasaur go min battles to have enough xp to comfortably switch train magikarp was def smart. Another way would be to go fight metapod/kakuna to get into struggle range and potion heal as much as you could

Wonderfull idea! My only gripe is wether both omastar and aerodactyl are able to be get from the same place regarding the whole 1/route pokemon rule but at the end of the day it's a challange run and likely fine
could easily consider one was obtained at Pewter City and the other at Mt.Moon. so more or less something of a personal opinion on the rules.
