33:20 random fun fact, the lapras without any training does 70% to your rival's rhydon in the final battle. I know this bc as a kid I happened to have lapras in my party when fighting the E4, my team only consisted of 5 non water types and lapras I just had for surf.
In Gen 1 that Lapras was my goto sweeper

Eh it's not even a difficult choice. Sleep powder is always gonna be better because it gives you free set up turns for Leech Seed, Growth etc.

And also, *YES*
btw the heat death of the universe wouldn't be able to occur if there's any collection of mass i.e a living person. Heat death requires all mass to be evenly distributed across the entirety of the universe. If there is a collection of mass the weak force of gravity would attract some particles at the small scale, this would mean the average 'direction' of gravity would pull towards the mass, which then increases that effect, which draws in more mass and so on ad Infinium. It would be a slow process but chemical/physical reactions could still occur, therefore no heat death.
A person who is completely immortal would necessarily mean a system that does not experience entropy. Since entropy is the foundational process that heat death is based on, a heat death universe that still contains a living immortal is impossible.
Since this was a no potion or TM run, you know, you COULD have just sold all your TMs/potions/etc. the moment you got the coin case and bought yourself a Scyther, which would be really strong or even a Dratini since it has Dragon Rage which could be useful!

He easily could've acquired people by means other than capturing them, which is why one of the rules was not "no acquiring other pokemon".
But really, all these "challenges" are really really dumb. Because all these challenges leave 1 thing allowed, you can still grind levels.
In a game where you can literally just level to 99 then go through the game, I dont see the point in any pokemon challenge that allows you to cancel out all difficulty and challenge by just grinding for 5 minutes before a hard fight.
my 8 year old little sister on her first pokemon game ever, solo'd the entire game with only one pokemon.
if an 8 year old can beat your super hard challenge, it's not a hard challenge. This though, is more of a criticism of how easy pokemon games are. There should just be difficulty modes.
@@Kugrox the newer games make it easier bc of exp share. if youve played an older Pokémon game you'd know grinding to 99 before actually starting is next to impossible to do without dedication. for example: i was grinding my mudkip on the first route in emerald, and by the end of my 2 hour grind i was only level 20 something. the levels stay the same as you go up, which means you need more exp than theyre giving. now with only one mon on your team while actually PROGRESSING itll be gaining all the exp that would usually be distributed to your entire team, thus it gains levels faster, but you have no team coverage. now depending on the game this can be a lot easier, which was probably one of the games your sister was playing, plus im guessing she let her mon evolve, a fully evolved level 100's stats are exponentially higher than a first form level 100, so it's even easier.Granted ant has more than 1 mon, im assuming a level 100 bulb couldn't clear the game, but a level 100 venusaur might have a better shot. but i agree official games should have difficulty choices

@@bookworm2442 I could use the one that was given by the pc at the beginning of the game so that I could beat the rival easily and begin with extra cash, but I was extremely stingy and didn't want to spend money, so even if the game gave me free potions, I could just sell em to get more money I could not use at all ever.

Yeah but i was lucky that my brother played pokemon ( this was when i was six ) so i had a really strong team of six. I also used items alot of items. Oh and if your wondering it was pokemon diamond.

Pokemon Platinum, except:
1) You can't have any of two pokemon of the same type on your team ever
2) Every time your Pokemon learns a new move, you HAVE to teach it.
3) No TMs.
4) No Move Deleter

Your rival's Raticate didn't use Quick Attack because the AI for the rival is programmed to be aware of your amount of HP, and it knew Quick Attack wouldn't kill, it probably tried Hyper Fang.

The thing is, immortality is really just the inability to age past a certain point like vampires. You can still die to many things, often that the cost of immortality is a great weakness.

This was just me first starting Pokémon as a kid and my older brother helping me get through the first gym
I’d be really interested in seeing Pokémon with random types every battle so you can prepare a team and moves but never know what will actually work vs the enemy, obviously no resetting too so you can’t learn it

If you skip beating a gym in FR or LG and travel to the islands after gym 7 you’ll get stuck there. One of my most painful childhood experiences.....

@@Salokin92 you will be asked if you want to travel to the islands after beating gym 7. If you say yes despite not having 7 badges if I remember correctly the boat driver won’t let you travel back to Kanto because for some reason you need 7 badges to travel back.
@@Salokin92 ahhh no sorry I was wrong if you won’t get rock smash or skip the gym that allows you to use rock smash before traveling to the islands you’ll get stuck there because you cannot finish your quest. Mr Boat guy won’t let you travel back before quest completion.

this makes me think, how would a cheapskate run go? As in you cant pay any money for anything. So you can use pokeballs and healing items, but only the ones you dont have to pay for.

Why wouldn't people use Lapras? Especially in Fire Red it's absolutely broken. Super tanky and since it's water/ice it beats on its own so many gym leaders and Pokemon from Elite 4. I would be surprised if someone didn't use it. Hands down my favorite water and ice Pokemon.

Capturing them is a no no but getting them off of gambling is a-okay
I remember playing this game as a kid and always quitting at the Elite 4 cause it was the one part of the game you couldn’t breeze through with your starter.
