LittleBig Contra is a NeoGAF collaborative project aimed at delivering the definitive Contra experience to LittleBigPlanet. Our goal was to recreate each of the 8 stages of Contra from the NES using the tools available to us in the LittleBigPlanet level editor.
There are 8 stages in total and 7 authors on the LBC team:

Stage 3: Waterfall: PSN - RyanardoDavinci
Stage 4: Base 2: PSN - SaitoHalifax

Stage 7: Hangar: PSN - Jaeyden
Stage 8: Alien's Lair: PSN - gevurah22

As part of the PSN welcome back plan, Little Big Planet 1 (possibly game of the year edition) is being offered as a free download once the store goes back up, among other great titles. So if you havent had the chance to play 1 or 2/ have been sitting on the fence, this is the perfect chance to jump in.

For all the people asking how to play the levels: These are just normal user made LBP levels. Just go to cool levels and search for the authors listed in *more info*. As for the paintinator gun, just download the Metal Gear Solid expansion pack for LBP. Comes with materials, the gun, stages made just for the expansion pack and MGS music.
It's absolutely amazing what talented people are able to do with this wonderful game. Bravo sir, Bravo.
It's an impressive amount of work no matter what people say. Hats off to these guys. It's stuff like this that really make the game worth it.

I've been watching this project (lurking) ever since it began. Was looking forward to the trailer so I could see the levels in action, and I have to say I'm impressed. I had pretty high expectations, but this seems to completely blow what I expected out of the water.

WOW! This is incredible. By far the best LBP level I've ever seen. I've played the MGS4 created level but this takes it out man lol... damn near perfect recreation of such a classic game. Awesome job. I hope my PS3 gets here in time for me to play it.

Amazing how far the community has come since the first few months.
I didnt know if I was going to buy Little Big Planet or not but with the stuff the community has made thus far its really changed my mind to wanting it.
This is amazing! I cannot wait to play these levels. Congratulations to the whole team! I hope Media Molecule picks this up and turns it into an expansion pack for LBP (maybe with costumes and new weapons).
