    I bought this bike on the 14th of April and have put 850 miles on it now (1MAY22). I have had two 3-4 hr long rides and multiple short rides. The engine is adequate, the 114 has enough giddy up to get out of its own way but its very manageable. Like any Harley you will drag pegs and bottom out sooner than you would expect. The seat has broken in somewhat but it is going to be replaced sooner than later, its just bad, and the pillion feels like its made from concrete. The brakes are standard Harley terrible, HDs are heavy bikes (Street Bob is about 630lbs wet) and then put a 200lb person top and you'll be wishing for more stopping power. The foot controls are a matter of personal preference, I like mids but I believe there are kits available to move the controls to forwards. Overall the bike has been good and I don't have any regrets. Like any bike it just needs some tweaks here and there to suit the rider. I will say that I have had more people yell out "Nice bike!" than on any other bike I've owned in the past. The Fastback Blue seems to be a crowd favorite.

      Yeah, I wish Harley put dual disk on this one like my old 94 FXDL war horse.

    Just got a red one. Was never a big soft tail fan until the new frame came out in "2017". Went from triumphs, " not the new ones, to a Knuck chopper for a few years then got on the only bike I bought new. A 94 FXDL. Beat the living crap out of that bike for over a 100K miles. This M8 FXBBS seems like it's up to the task. I like it!

    Still like the Black with orange color! Street Bob os definitely on my radar! Love the 114 on my FXLRS. Should be awesome on an even lighter bike 😎

    Purchased this model May of this year. Had to put it in for warranty repair 3 times the first 1,000 miles, fully covered by Harley; cracked oil coolant line, front cylinder head leak for being out of tolerance, rear cylinder head bolt broken, dented and leaking oil cooler. Now that all the warranty repairs are fixed its a joy to ride but little bit of a nightmare out of the gate.

    I love the power and cornering. But 20mins at highway speeds made my right hand numb. And that clutch in traffic...😅

      My 2022 Street Bob has the easiest hand clutch of any so far.
      Three bikes ago, I had a foot clutch.

      Harley Davidson jumps through hoops to keep EPA off their backs so they can produce these bikes.

    Overpriced and low quality control. Speaking from experience from multiple friends. Skip harley's

    • @fastjax
      @fastjax  Před 2 lety +7

      with most other motorcycle companies primary build material being plastic? how do you figure it's low quality? Because a buddy said so? If you have any interest in the bike I'd go ride it and make your own assessment. as far as quality is concerned, the quality shows in the paint alone standing next to most metric brands. nothing is perfect but if they're anything, they quality machines. I personally have almost 40k on my dd Harley now and it's still practically brand new and its holding its value. Let me ask? do your buddy's own a Harley?

      @@fastjax i shouldn't have been so black and white about it. Several friends have bought used bikes with full service records only for something to go catastrophically wrong. I should have said to skip them unless you're aware of the issues and are still ok with it. My dream bike is a tuono 1100 factory so I'm not one for large plastic fairings so we're in agreement there. I was also having a bad day so you'll have to excuse my previous comment. I appreciate you taking the time to reply even though i wasn't particularly friendly. Thanks for being respectful

    • @ajwhite765
      @ajwhite765 Před 2 lety +2

      @@fastjax totally agree with paint and such. Their finish is excellent and is similar to the optional color on my 2015 audi a3. Not trying to flex by saying that lol it was 15k used but i know what you mean by a nice paint job. Several layers and metal fleck added plus 2 clear coats makes it an expensive option so i get it

    • @ajwhite765
      @ajwhite765 Před 2 lety +2

      @@fastjax what i meant was that imo they can be overpriced and some people option them out too far. I think if they introduced more modern engines with the same vibe as the current ones and updated the prices to more adequately represent their market and competition i think they'd do better. Indian is my example of a quality machine for less money and the same overall fit and finish
