Good job. Next time leave the tip cut smaller . Trace your rtv around the holes and dont spread it. When torqued properly the rtv will spread evenly.

My uncle has a 1999 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.9 magnum. It runs like its got a cam and it puffs blue smoke out the tail pipe (and its all stock) do you think it could be a bad plentum gasket?
Maybe!?? I would go more towards valve seals.
Hughs makes an aluminum plenum plate, I'm sure you are aware, but it is supposed to seal better than the steel plate.
Yes I’m aware of that. At the time none in stock.
@Wicked Fabz I'm in the middle of replacing my plenum plate right now .. i bought the hughs kit that came with the replacement plate .. luckily they had it in stock. Was gonna put the intake back on my truck today .. but unfortunately I had some minor pitting around the water jackets on the cast iron head .. I used a bit of jb weld .. gonna let it cure over night and sand it smooth tomorrow and hopefully I'll have my truck back on the road in the next couple of days. Not the funnest job, but honestly not that bad to do... I'm really hoping I get a good seal. Watching vids like yours and some others really help. Keep making them and thanks !
I got a 90 model RT at the mileage that I had on a 160,000 miles on it it started giving me problems I went ahead and ordered a brand new intake all the M1

What kind ofsymptoms do you see when this gasket is leaking ?
I didn’t really see any. I was doing a complete resto on the truck and since I had the engine out I changed it. Mine was really bad yet to see any. Look into the throttle body and check to see how bad yours may be.
Did the gasket maker you put on ever leak? I'm doing this tomorrow to my engine. Do you suggest still the gasket maker? Thank you
I haven’t ran the engine long enough yet to know. I think you would be ok with it also use the gasket.

Hey buddy thanks in part to 2 of your videos me and my 13 year old son just did a complete engine swap on an 2001 ram. We put in a 97 5.2 so we had to also trade the intake out. Tons of fun man. Plus we subscribed to your channel in the process. Thanks again.
Stupid Question: ? I cannot find a plenum gasket for sale ANYWHERE for an 04 dodga dakota 3.7 is it that there is not one for this model?
Maybe not. Did you pull the intake off?
@@WickedFabz not yet. When I say plenum gasket I believe the rectangle gasket you are showing is on the larger engine mune is the 3.7 6 cyld. and I believe these gaskets for mine are the small single gaskets. Does this make sense?
No matter what you do on that intake it's not going to fix it it's going to leak again there's got to be a way that you can fix this can you weld the intake aluminum plate unless you ordered a $500 intake call in one
When using a gasket, it has to be used clean and dry.
Don't ever use rtv and a gasket because it's going to end up leaking.
I have had no problems thus far with leaks. Maybe I got lucky.
Yeah...I'm a newb and even I know this is NOT HOW you should go about doing this. When he smeared the bead of RTV.....yeah.....no.

@@WickedFabz I've been working on it since before you probably were born no Chevy orange is not the hemi's original color it's OD Green it was in the Sherman tank you idiot but Dodge doesn't use orange look it up yourself cuz I can tell you don't know the colors of engines you got four blue Chevy Orange
@@WickedFabz you grab the Chevy orange not the reddish orange it has to be more red than that color it's a dark red orange not the right orange of a Chevrolet engine
