Amazing to think Katrina only won by 10,000 televotes amongst BBC viewers yet won the actual contest by absolute landslide. I can't imagine the 2020 contestants joining together to sing Yodel in the Canyon of Love somehow!
I yodel in the canyon of love hahaha that's hilarious.
RIP Kerry ! X
and she had a blinder of a song ..love light carries thanks all for an anthem today
Cor! Thank you so much for uploading! I haven't seen Katrina's performance in this for quite a while, and haven't seen the entire thing for years!
Nothing says British like "Yodel in the Canyon of Love." What the hell were they thinking?
I don't think the juries and few televoters would have appreciated it as much. Had we sent that, Ireland would have won again.
I strangely like it😂😂😂
Song number 3, the best.
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed :)
Katrina sounds so nervous, I love listening to her :3
Sunday 9th March 1997
Good to see an interview with Richard Kerr.
Oof, nothing like Jonathan King to age a broadcast.
@10:51 The guy on the left's reaction was the same as mine when I first heard Dale say that title haha
Dale Winton didn't know at the the time that he is hosting an eurovision winner
and he didn't know he'd be dead before we won it again either ;p
Roger Swift he probably did. And spoiler - we will be too 🥳
15:03 inspiration for Bill Nighy in Love Actually surely 🤪
To think if we got our selection wrong here then Ireland would have won again.
P.S Always thought that Yodel in the Canyon of love, was a few chorus notes away from Elton John doing them for plagiarism 'Dont go breaking my heart'
and dale predicted a winner shame he is no longer with us
0891 numbers take me back
Thank goodness we didn't put the best song in second place this year like we usually do. Song 3 might have got 12 points from Switzerland but it wouldn't have won.
Why Switzerland?
2:00 dramatic irony
glad she won
omg ...yodel ...
Did Gina G seriously equate herself to ABBA and Céline Dion? It’s like a lawnmower equating itself to a Jaguar
Or a domestic flight on Ryanair with a 16 hour flight sitting in Emirates first class
Secend place for THE U.K 1998,1993,1992 ,1989,1988,1977
,1975,1970,1968
mears89 and 1972. 15 second places in total.
2022 to add to the list
Urgh the vile Jonathan King
Little did they know that just 20 years later, a song featuring yodelling would indeed be included in Eurovision thanks to Romania - and it's a masterpiece compared to this drivel.
