  • So many things has to happen and work well together to make it to the NBA. Of the most important, timing along with the right person, one that’s able to deal with the expectations and the pressure that comes along with having your name mentioned among the best ammeters are factors that don’t come by too often. Today’s feature Seventh Woods may have been the biggest victim of these two things, along with the reasons we’ll speak about today, that took him from being called the best 14 year old in the country, signing to a top 3 college program in North Carolina, winning a national championship as a freshman, to drastically underachieving in 3 years there, transferring to a smaller school in South Carolina, underperforming there as well and transferring once again to a low level Morgan State for a graduate year of basketball and his 6th spent in college and none of them suggest he has a future in the league and slight chance of even having an extended career overseas. For these reasons he’s far left behind his class and a dark spot for any high school player aspiring to be a CZcams sensation. He Was The Best 14 Year Old In The Country! What Happened To SEVENTH WOODS? Stunted Growth

I love your channel, but this one was a specifically good video. I am a UNC fan, and agree wholeheartedly that he never should have gone there....He would've been better off at a lower D1 school. Also, it didn't seem like he developed much in high school - yes, he was explosive and athletic as hell, but you need more than that if you're gonna make the league as a guard. You hit the nail on the head in saying that those hype mixes REALLY hurt him. It was the perfect storm, because at that time, there weren't nearly as many ballislife type videos for high schoolers, so when his dropped, everyone was like "whoaaaaa....." and he had to live up to all of those expectations. It made me nervous when his ranking began to drop. He was like top 20 as a sophomore and then plummeted his junior and senior year, which definitely caught my attention. Seems like a good young man, but sadly, he was overhyped, and it's wild how that one video of him as a 14 year old helped derail what should've been a great career.

He got the fame too young and thought it was going to be easy, so he never put in any work. Talking about pressure. I would be ashamed of myself having to go lower and lower in competition. I mean look at his jumpshot. Theres no way he takes this seriously.
