You know, this felt like their most "podcasty" episode yet. By this I mean that the episode feels like the boys are reaching their prime at podcasting. The way that they orchestrated themselves with Jirard feels pretty professional, just like any other big time podcaster 👏

It warms my heart to know that a comment I left on CZcams has had such a profound impact on people’s lives.
We don’t have all the details of this situation. It clearly seems that Jirard taking them to court and will very likely get audited by the IRS. The truth will come out in publicly available documents for all to enjoy.
I always enjoy the podcast but today's was special. The interactions and topics were great and Jirard is so authentic, he really draws the best out of people and reminds us all why we love video games.
This was incredible. Easily your 2nd best episode.

This is easily one of my favorite episodes so far, if not #1. I never really followed the G4 reboot (was happy to see them come back because nostalgia) and when I heard it was closing down again I was sad about it, but never really looked into what went on. I really enjoyed the conversation and hope you're able to do more episodes like this in the future.
I want to say this may be your best episode so far!! I love The Completionist but i think Bob and Wood asked the best questions and this really felt like you perfected having guests on the show! Keep them coming! Cant wait for a revisit with Kit and Krysta, and maybe see if you can get Arlo to do one. I think you would have such fantastic chemistry on camera with him!

My only issue with her rant really was her comment about Olivia munn. She was literally hired to be eye candy, but that just was what tv was at the time.

The issue is that so called TV networks are being clobbered by CZcams creators who bring new creativity and realness to their productions and the networks want to use old corporate TV methods . Khalil comes off as a sincere artist who really cares about his content and the people he works with . #wulffdendad
This was quite the fun video. I like the guest episodes. One of the few podcasts where I enjoy guests as much as no guests.
I doubt Wood will see this but I have to say I am so impressed he managed to do PAX! I’ve looked it up before (a bit pointless, as I live in the UK, but maybe someday) and it just looks so crowded and noisy, even if it does look like fun. I don’t think my anxiety levels could take it! After what you’ve said recently, especially with like going to the supermarket, it is brilliant that you managed to go and have a good time 😊 I mean this sincerely as someone who also struggles with anxiety, that is such an achievement

Watching this I was just thinking: " For the love of God let the man speak! Don't interrupt him every other second.".
Most long form podcasts hit their stride when they start having guests on regularly. Keep this going. The whole conversation felt so natural and honest and I didn’t want to stop listening.

The main thing about the conservators now owning a physical of all games is /now/ they can LEGALLY own the roms for all of them, even for conservation you cant legally download roms after all. So now there is no legal standing in any way shape or form that could ever give Nintendo the power to make them delete data for those games like if they only had roms.

The problem with Frosk, everywhere she went, was that she was lazy and unauthentic.
She never knew what she was talking about, she didn’t know the esports, she didn’t play the games.
That’s why fans attacked her specifically. And after hearing The Completionist side here. It sounds like that’s what the fans had a problem with XPlay it wasn’t anything like XPlay. So they went with low blows because that’s what people online do.
This is definitely worth losing a few hours of sleep. Easily the best episode yet.

I think that's the real dream for being a content creator, not just finding success and doing what you love as a career, but also getting to collab/work with other people and making great friendships with them, and learning from each other and sharing a common interest/goal. If that's not other small creators dream I don't know what is.
So I was going to buy some stuff off the shop before it shut down, but literally the day I was going to a tornado struck my town, destroying a ton of buildings and infrastructure and partly destroyed my house and I missed the deadline, so archiving all that stuff is awesome to me.
By far my favourite podcast episode ❤ Jirard is so compelling to listen to and has incredible history and stories to share. He really encapsulates the Nintendo CZcams culture and has been an integral part of the scene throughout. So lovely that you guys made this happen! Can’t wait for Jirard to return and do this again!

G4…. 😢Thank you so very much to all of the content creators, writers, producers, and crew behind G4s ill fated revival. My Mom passed away early into G4s return and having G4’s content block every day when I would normally be alone with my thoughts was a monumental help. It was like I had friends there with me at work (in an incredibly loud environment with no way of communicating with my kinda meh coworkers) to cheer me up and make me laugh. Thank you all.

I love Jirard's "I'm the 'graphics good, game good' guy." I love that because I'm that kind of person too for the most part. A game has to REALLY let me down for me to think it's not a good game. Think a game isn't my speed or my kind of game? Yeah, but not a bad one.
you’d be surprised, there are places where you can get every wii u game, every update version of the game, and any dlc already, no matter how obscure
I think based on what I've seen for alot of people saying "get woke go broke" about the frosk thing is probably meaning "if companies will pander to this ideology they are almost always inherently making bad decisions behind the scenes" rather than necessarily saying the frosk thing is what ended g4. It seemed to people more to be the straw that broke the audience's back as an outward symptom of all the other stuff.

I've watched Jirard's videos before, but I had no idea about G4 being relaunched, let alone that it subsequently crashed or that there was drama and fallout. I'm glad all of you are doing well, because it's so easy to forget that, despite how much content you might feel like you consume, it's really just a drop in the bucket of what's out there, and you're inevitably taking for granted the people that are making the stuff you consume. I've never really watched Jirard's videos outside of random ones, but I always liked them. So weird to see people blaming him.
I enjoyed the new G4, was sad to see it go, but I never blamed anyone on the public side for it failing, as it wouldn't be their fault.

Long time listener, first time commenter. This was the best episode of the podcast. Jirard was refreshingly candid about a tough time for him, and the hosts asked great questions and had great insights. The podcast should have more interviews with guests like this!

Legit, the segment that crushed me was when Jirard was talking about the game codes he could not use to preserve games given to him. I am such a huge advocate for physical library's and the preservation of games for future generations to enjoy and learn from (inspire and educate, learn from games to make your own), and the idea that some games just may never be able to be played by future generations crushes me.
This interview is why I watch you guys.
I have so much respect for Jirard, and watching this skyrocketed the loving foundation he set for all who follows him. His goal since the beginning was to only spread joy about video games and the medium and to hear that, the whole thing with G4 crippled him, all the while still creating content, still being a stand up guy, looking out for other content creators, developers, using every last resource he has to preserve games and assist those who have that as their main mission, I can think of few who I have as much respect for as Jirard. Pair that with Woody and Wulff and this was such a great use of my time. I think everyone here has such noble intentions, as someone who's been hesitant to create my own content due to my constant comparison, I feel the want to create and talk about video games, and get good at talking about them. Thank you to everyone involved because hearing Jirard go through what I went through with my own family, hearing how he manages his life, seeing the fruits of his labor in front of him, and continuing to be genuine throughout all of it, I hope Jirard is able to influence many who are in the creating space, because if so, the future for content creation and video games could see the positivity that is rooted in the medium that is gaming, which at it's heart is having a good time, and building communities.
Jirard has a level of drive and perseverance that has always impressed me. I wish I was more like Jirard who always takes chances and gives 200% effort.
All three of you guys are awesome and it's great to see you together on this.
My friend and I said “Hi” to Jirard briefly at Pax East at the Elsie booth. He was SUPER nice to us and other fans who passed through even though the booth was busy. Meeting the legend was one of the biggest highlights of the trip. 🏆
54:59 This is why I watch the postcast rather than listen to it. The amount of body language, is fascinating. You can often see that Wood is hearing what is being said but is thinking of what he is going to say next, but don’t blame him this is something we all struggle with. Listening is something we have to actively work on. And then the Bob’s facial expressions while Wood is talking about all this 😅 These two are such a fun duo to watch

Best ramen in the Boston area is HANDS DOWN Yume Wo Katare. Located in Porter Sq. Small place with a wholesome vibe. Dream big! They even rate how much of the ramen you eat. Finishing your bowl gives you a score of perfect... something the Jirard can complete next time he is in town.

Jirard is such a gentleman, avoiding speaking ill about the Frosk incident, while the truth is Frosk said we didn't like her because she is not as bangable as Morgan or Olivia, while we just didn't like her for her personality, nothing to do with gender, she could be a dude and the same would have happened.
So glad Jirard stands by Frosk on that. It was absolutely bullshit the way people treated her and that moment. That moment more than anything made me understand why gamers have such a bad rep.
I really wish this isn't the way the G4 reboot and X-Play went down.
