    I'm glad you were man enough to admit that you never done a clutch cable and then teach me how it's done. You being fast learner helped me fix my clutch cable. There is to many videos of morons acting like they know what there doing. I think you can honestly have good channel just doing shit yourself. Thank you for your guidance..your a mechanic and teacher and a non fiction production artist. Keep up with the good work. May the force stay strong in you.

    I know this is an old vid bit i was using it to see something with my cable route. Aside from that noticed the clutch return spring was missing. This is a vital part. Hope you fixed it.

    Your missing your clutch cable release spring its what goes in that little hole on that arm where you put the cable into, its what pulls the clutch lever back out

      Yep, may be he put it on later but definitely he is missing the release spring. I have the same model and I clean my today and the spring was there on the empty hole on the plate.

      Questions...1- is that clutch release spring mandatory??
      2- is your clutch release assembly supposed to easily come apart in 2 pieces when it's off the case by itself?
      3- after I took mine apart and cleaned it up and tried to put it back together i ran into problems. My clutch lever was either really loose or really hard. I adjusted what needed to adjusted, but still had the problem. It was somewhat stiff before I cleaned it out, but now it's worse. Help please.

      It's probably too late for you guys, but my clutch (not the cable, but the pieces inside the sprocket cover atached to it) broke last week and I've been mad trying to figure out how to replace them pieces. It's a GSXR750 from 2003. I opened it and there wasn't any spring. In the Suzuki diagram of my bike the spring exists, yeah, and mine has the obvious spots to attach it, but it simply wasn't there. I been watching lots of videos like this, and not all of them have the spring attached. So, I finally bought a 2nd hand sprocket cover with every piece in it but the spring and replaced the original one. It works just fine.

    Before a test ride, squeeze tight the bracket that holds the bottom end of the clutch cable, its a nasty environment in that housing. 👍

      @@jaydot1987 How did you get the cable out of the loop at 2.42? its a real pain.

    • @jaydot1987
      @jaydot1987  Před 5 lety

      stevenesq you can use a flathead screw driver to release the tension. When replacing the cable you wanna make sure you add that tension again by pushing it back in.
