    I'm by no means an expert, just someone who wants to save money. I didn't see this type of video for my model bike so thought I'd do one on the fly. Not the best tutorial but I'll plan better next go around.

    Thanks. As I recall, reverse shift was just a matter of undoing the bolt that connects the linkage to the transmission and loosening the two nuts on the linkage for fine adjustment of shifter pedal height.

  • @davetechme

    No idea. It should be pretty straightfoward I would imagine. Lot's of stuff about working on bikes can feel intimidating because of everything that's at stake, but usually I find things are easier than I make them out to be beforehand. But that's how we learn! Don't strip screws and holes, take your time, and take pictures prior. Works for me!

    Letting out the clutch lever slowly should get you rolling at around 3-5mph (walking pace) without the need to use any throttle. But considerably faster than that, you might need to adjust the throttle cable or the idle speed.
    Sounds like before perhaps you had the cable too tight which didn't engage the clutch completely when you released the clutch lever.

  • @maddmavic
    @maddmavic Před 5 lety

    Do u have to take that vover off to adjust that from the engine or can u just adjust the cable from that cover. Some one adjusted the lever end so much but i want to check that part

    Does shifting feel fine? Does the bike stay in place if the clutch lever is pulled in? Maybe it's normal the r6. I'll ask my r6 buddies.

    Hey Buddy, like the video....was just wondering why my clutch cable kept breaking, i went through 2 cables in 1 year...i even wd40 the cable with a cable lubricator ..also my clutch is very hard to pull in, is it normal..the prior owner installed a racing clutch, could this be the reason?

    I'm not sure if anyone will answer but I did this and finished but the top coolant tube isn't in anywhere and I have no idea where it goes. Any help?

    • @davetechme
      @davetechme  Před 10 lety

      Sorry for the late reply, but the top coolant tube is just for overflow. It sticks into the side of the coolant bottle cap, as I recall.

    • @209angler7
      @209angler7 Před 9 lety

      davetechme so where dose the tube from the coolent reserv go ?

  • @davetechme
    @davetechme  Před 11 lety

    Hmmm. Not sure about the Zx10r. You should consult your service manual for that.
    Nice bike though. As far liter bikes go, the 2011+ Zx10r feels amazingly perfect. Want to trade? lol

    Your 2002 600 is carberated?!?!

    • @davetechme
      @davetechme  Před 5 lety

      No. EFI.

    • @crackshotmcgee9588
      @crackshotmcgee9588 Před 5 lety

      davetechme You have a choke on your left clip on. The left clip on on my k2 750 is from a 2000 600 after I crashed it, but I took the actually choke lever off.

    • @davetechme
      @davetechme  Před 5 lety

      That's what I iniitally thought too but it's not a choke. It's an idle adjuster for cold starts. Same function but technically not a carb and choke setup.

    • @crackshotmcgee9588
      @crackshotmcgee9588 Před 5 lety

      davetechme I've heard of the adjustable idle but didn't know it looked just like a choke. I actually posted on GSXR.COM recently about the k1 600 actually being carbrated because all of the ones I've seen had a choke.. or so I thought. Never really looked any deeper than that to see if it was in fact carburated. So thanks for telling me.
