- Hi guys,
I want to share with you how I managed to fix the scroll wheel of my Logitech G Pro X Superlight Wireless Mouse.
Please only attempt this fix, if your mouse is out of warranty. It is not worth trying it, if you still have warranty for the mouse, because if it doesn't work out and you go for the warranty claim, it might get rejected by Logitech, if they ask you to return your mouse.
Also, WD-40 is not really a lubricant, but this is what I had on hand and this is what some users on Reddit reported to have worked on them. It also worked for me, but as I said in the video, I don't think that the fix is permanent.
If you have any questions, let me know.
HOLY SHIT ngl i was a bit worried squirting in WD-40 but it immediately worked! thank you so much!!! after 6 months no scrollwheel
Ive had the problem for a few months now. It had gotten to the point where i couldnt scroll at all. I tried blowing before i got the airr canister out, and it worked. thank you werry much for you help.
DUDE THE WD-40 HELPED ON MY OLD INSANELY BUGGED NORMAL PRO WIRELESS. OMFG!
I just sent back my Superlight X for RMA to get it replaced cuase of the stupid wheel bug and I figured I'll try that on my old one. AND IT WORKED!!! You are a legend man!
I had the same problem and fixed it by just sticking a cotton bud in the scroll wheel and wiggling it around a bit to clean any dust off. I rotated the scroll wheel a bit and repeated that in each segment and now my scroll wheel seems to work much better. Hope this helps!
Update: My scroll wheel has still been playing up a bit since I did this, so maybe not a super effective solution. Still feels better than before though.
Silicone oil worked for me. Felt a bit more natural than WD-40 for use. Had it lying around in my car because one shouldn't own a car without having something to protect its rubber seals.
Thank you so much, it wasn't working properly for the past 2 months, i tried everything and this finally worked i'm so happy
try this turn off the mouse flip it upside down go racecar hotwheel mode for a minute turn mouse on done
howd that actually work
no way this shit worked LMAO thanks bro
bro no way, ur the goat thx. I was like no way this is gonna work and it actually did. Thank you
I do the same but this will only work for a day. Still better than nothing.
it comes back after some time though
£150 mouse with scroll wheel issues. 🤓
Ong bruh, it’s so annoying
I now own the mouse, no scroll wheel issues yet, though I suspect them to occur like later on.
I'll just have it fixed by someone if it does. Shouldn't be too bad.
@@Soon119 I've been blowing air at the gear and it has helped, if the issue persists, I'll just apply some wd40
Bruh, literally bought a 4th logitech mouse and is sucks so bad, every fcking mouse has screel wheel issue, when I bought logitech g pro x superlight, I was deciding between roccat kone pro air, I wish i hadn't take it...
yea bro but the rest features are better and worth the price, we just cant have good things anymore
omg im not even joking I was blowing into the scroll wheel as you said it wasn't going to have enough pressure to fix it and after 5 months of having a broken scroll wheel i can safely say that blowing into the scroll wheel fixed it
holy shti same lol
same lol
This just worked for me.
right now work this??
@@fabri3807😂😂 well they can’t come to your home and change it can they?
No bs blew into my scroll wheel really hard and worked like a charm!
The WD40 immediately did the trick. Thanks!
After hearing about this solution I literally just blew into the scroll wheel really hard and it was fixed
thats why WD-40 is the goat! thanks for the advice my mice is finally fixed
I had the same problem and fixed it the similar way. First I used an air spray to spray out the whole mouse, after that I sprayed some Sillicone oil on the q-tip and shoved it inside of the housing. After that scroll wheel works like new. :)
just lift the buttons up, they raise (be gentle, dont rip them off), then just blow a bit with your mouth, dont even need compressed air. instantly fixed my wheel issues
Holy moly! just sprayed the wheele with some silicone used in electronic and nylon/plastic and now it works perfectly! thanks!
I have two mice, one Superlight the other one regular PRO.. The "blowing" with my mouth worked for the regular one (Put the entire scroll wheel in ur mouth and blow as hard as you can) as I didn't have any compressed air handy..
None of these worked for my Superlight and I tried this from Reddit:
turn off the mouse flip it upside down go racecar hotwheel mode for a minute turn mouse on done
Basically.. Turn off the mouse, only let the scroll wheel touch the mousepad and run it back and forth really fast a couple of times..
Solved all issues.
Yeah it worked for me as well, insane. Also, one could probably just use their palm to scroll real quick, but I would advise tilting the mouse to the right (so the left button is "up"), because if I understand correctly, doing so could dislodge some junk and "dump" it out of where the wheel meets the axle
oh my god you just saved me $100 for a new mouse lol. Thank you so so much stranger. I did what you suggested and the mouse has been working like normal now
@@dinofio3001 No problem. I wish I had done some research before I bought a new one! Happy gaming, my guy!
Blowing with my mouth fixed mine in 5 seconds. Thanks anyway!
Bro i just blew the mouse with my mouse before you said blowing wouldn't work, but it did. Thanks anyway
You can also utilize a Q-tip by slightly opening the front buttons to create a gap. Then, gently brush the Q-tip over the scroll wheel region.
Did you put anything on the q tip? Because I’ve tired nearly everything for my g pro wireless and I’m at the point where I gotta just buy a new mouse or disassemble it and fix it from there
@@mitchell1338 Isopropyl rubbing alcohol worked for me, no amount of blowing seemed to help if only for short term duration, not sure how long this will last though. These rotary encoders are highly susceptible to dust it appears.
Does anyone know if the gen2 superlights use the same encoder?
I Can Confirm That WD40 does In fact Work (Just make sure you spray small amounts and use some kind of wet wipes to clean the residue quickly after on the wheel and outer shell)
There is a easy fix. Pull the right botton of the mouse gently upwards and it will pup up for a half centimeter som you can se the wheel axis and the dirt. Then take a cuttonpin with some alcohol on it and put towards the axis. Turn the wheel until all the dirt is gone and it will work as new until it gets dirty again and you have to repete the procedure.
It worked for me, thank you!
Thanks man, always appreciate a good troubleshooting vid👍🏼
get a small interdental brush and clean it its much easier. Sometimes hair can stuck inside.
I have the same problem before, luckily it is still under warranty so logitech replaced it with new one.
how do i get replacement i bought it from amazon i have the same problem and i bought is feb 2023 please help
Do you get any issues with logitech g hub when replacing the mouse?
@@Zebbern1 nope
It is a design flaw of the mouse, they exposed the digital encoder of the wheel too much that dust gets in too easily. Using something like JELTOSEC "dry cleaner for contacts" which is made to clean contacts on electronics is better than WD40. As the that kind of spray is non-conductive.
It worked! Thanks man, you saved me from buying another one.
I blew very hard into it a dust bunny cme out and now the mouse is like new lol, awesome vid!
Thank you so much for this video! The compressed air was able to fix my problem for now : )
actually the compressed air work!?
@@fabri3807 for about a month untill it goes back to being bad
Use (CRC QD contact cleaner) its like wd40 but for electronics. way less risk, smell, and residue! I just used on my mouse I was having the exact same problem its crazy I'm not the only one but it worked for mine at least short term its been 5 minutes lol.
you know that feeling when your parents tell you to do the dishes right when you're about to do it? it was like the opposite when he told us not to blow into the mouse as it would not work. i blew into it as hard as I could and it ended up working LOL thanks dude
ong it js worked for me to lmao
I blow into it hard with my breath and it worked thanksssss
holy shit it actually worked LMAO
Wait damn it worked ahaha
wait it acctually worked for me LOL
So glad im not the only one with this issue phew thanks mate
i bought a new mouse
no fucking way, so the compressed air didnt work for me and i thought my shit was toast.. and i seen a guys comment on here about using a qtip and i was like you know what fuck it imma try it and that shit saved me from going and dropping another 150 on another one... that man is the real MVP
mine wasnt even scrolling sometimes, tried the wd-40 and it got better, thanks
Just a quick tip tho, u can lift the left and right button and spray the wd40 directly in the wheel from below, that helped me the most
Awesome vid, btw try to use the WD-40 Specialist Contact Cleaner version, safest for PCBs. :)
Thank you too much mine is worked as well. Thanks god your solutions actually guided me through the problem :)
Here is my solution: Blew air compressor inside first to clean whatever I can. then I had this electronic cleaner spray its like something between lubricant but more like cleaner not staying there for long like WD40 so It cleaned my wheel and as soon as i cleaned it, I left it for 5 mins to dry out and boom! it's working.
Thank you very much. It really works!!
the wd 40 worked for me thank you
you will. I literally have a can of air and bw-100 electronic lubricant for this mouse. They have sent me a replacement and that is literally only a matter of time before it has the same problem.
When I hear someone say "lubricant" followed by "WD-40" I know better than to watch the rest of the video.
Lifting up the buttons and blasting it with compressed air seems to have fixed it for me. Thanks for the tip.
Edit: it's still cooked after 1 day of working okay.
Try WD40 Electronic/electrical contact cleaner instead of the regular WD40. It's not harsh as the regular WD 40
Note: WD-40 is not a lubricant
I would recommend taking apart the encoder, cleaning, and putting it back together. Maybe a dab of mineral oil if anything.
There are 'dust proof', enclosed encoders.
EDIT UPDATE: My mouse had been occasionally double scrolling down. I didn't even have to take apart the encoder as I previously mentioned. Just a drop of iso-alcohol on the encoder 'gear', spin it some, and blast it with air and its good as new.
You sir are a Legend. thank you! WD40 worked
It's Workkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much, I don't have any WD-40 but contact cleaner is working as well.
DUDE, YOU'RE MAGICIAN, THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Thank you so much I spilt something on my mouse pad and got in my mouse and this is working. Thank you so much. Pookie
TYSM! I clean and solved the Scroll Whell Problem!
not sure if i feel confident to spray WD40 in it lol, WD40 will dry out what its used on over time.. its probably why he feels more resistance
the issue with mine is that it just jolts up and down when i try normally scroll, what a really annoying & bad issue for such an expensive mouse
if you power the mouse off and flip it upside down & roll the wheel forward and back a bit, it works for a little bit
its a really bad mouse due to this huge common physical failure
I just blew into it with my mouth and it works. Trained smoker lungs!
same shit bro xD
thanks for the info! will probably just use the warranty card.
I just blew the shit out of my mouse and it worked, thank you very much.
I had this issue with literally every logitech mouse , including this one (the third).
i just blew with my mouth when you said in the video, working super fine, fixe my probleme xD
did it happen again ?
@@zuyavaa no i finaly change my mouss, it was unplayable.. cant use my mouss wheel
@@tinyantyradio ive already bought it hope it wont happen to me🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Nice bro, thanks so much
I just tried blowing with my mouth, under the left click button, and holy mother jesus it worked. What on gods green earth is this sorcery
I just read the comments here and thought "all these people saying to blow into my mouse are crazy". After seeing that 50 times I had to do it. It fucking works. Logitech should just add it to the user manual at this point.
each logitech i buy i have Something to fix the next year i think im done with the planed obsolescence!
omg wd-40 fixed it for me too. thank you sir 😊
Just started happening to me. You'd think after 25+ years of mice with scrollwheels we'd have figured out how to fix this issue for good in the design phase of a $200 product... Logitech...
Don't do this! WD40 can be corrosive to the PCBs and will dry out quickly meaning you'll have to re-appy often. It might also form some sticky goo that attracts even more dust and dirt. There's also the issue of getting the lube on the wheel sensor as well as many other places where it shouldn't be. Please never apply lube from a pressurized can. You should apply it with a needle or similar and only to the places where it needs to go. Make sure it's a lube that won't dry out and that has a decent viscosity. Sowing Machine oil would be a safe bet.
Holy shit this worked, thank you so much!
i cant believe it, thanks man from argentina!
I just wanted to know how to adjust a new mouse wheel settings.. Not a WD-40 primer.. My bad
WD SAVED MY LIFE THANKS BRO
Does it work ? I tried to use air but it didnt work for me and idk if i ahould try using wd40 or no
This is like a problem that will eventually happen for every mouse. I hope Logitech come up with a new design to prevent this forever.
it's a design flaw, very dissapointed in logitech, the company always had great products
I have this issue and the issue where the battery loses stick to where it's mounted so it just rattles around loosely. This mouse costs too much for these two issues to be occuring.
Bro this mouse is so fucking dogshit got the same issues as you got and then logitech send me another one just for the same shit to happen again
I locked my lips around the mouse wheel, and blew with my full lungs worth of force, it works now, would recommend.😁
Thanks! It worked for me.
my mouse is out of warranty. And I'm not sure about trying it. Can I get opinions from people who have tried it and it worked? I'm really worried. Thank you!
Holy shit man !
I just had blow my mouse with my mouth. Now my mouse is very happy !
Thank you so much worked great for me just blew into it as hard as I could.
unfortunately this will last you a few months before it happens again
update: replacing the encoder entirely seems to be the fix atleast.
how do i do that
@@blackyzeta777
@@blackyzeta777 is it possible to do at home or do you need a professional? also what encoder does the mouse use?
@@peevan Yes, definitely possible to do at home with the correct tools. For my case, I used a normal soldering iron + a pump to remove excess solder. If you're not sure that you know what you're doing, don't try as you risk frying the board entirely. I used a kailh 8.2mm encoder and it fits perfectly. If you need more help you can ask. :)
@@blackyzeta777where can I find those kailh encoders? Can you share a link please :(
no fucking way man. i blew into it with my mouth with maximum blow and did it for like 3 minutes, and it works
Such a good mouse in my opinion but the fucking scroll wheel is such a headache. The issue still comes back after a while even after using compressed air.
WD-40 works perfectly.
bro i disassemble my mouse, made a deep cleaning on the scrollwheel and it keeps happening i dont know whats the problem, wrost mice i ever bought by far
all from this series has this issues, mine start after 3 months, i got g502 from 7 years, and g604, never had this issue, so its this crap model!
If you look deep on internet you will see more than 200 people with this issue, same crap model!
THX, wd40 fixed it for me !
cheers, did it and now my middle mouse doesnt even click
it fucking works jesus christ the holy wd40😍😍
LMAO dude i saw this and was annoyed for months, and after seeing this i just blew into the wheel a bunch and its perfect now, thanks i guess
LMFAO same here 😂😂😂
loool i can't believe that air sprey fix my mouse ty aloot
wd-40 never fails
thanks bro it worked perfectly😇
my mouse keeps registering a click everytime i scroll or it regesters a mouse wheel click
I literally blew in it with my mouth and it worked 😂💪
cleaning it actually works, but the scroll wheel starts doing weird stuff again only a few days later every time i clean it :/
u need one clean extrem
i ll try thank you man!@@fabri3807
my mouse wheel literally broke after i blew into it 💀 good thing logitech sent me a replacement already
Such a fucking hassle. After months, mine started doing this as well. Aint no way i'm gonna order parts and start doing reconstruction on this.
thank you very much for help my mouse work now like a new one!
Amazing It works thanks!
But there are no screws under the newer version, and I still can not find them
The screws are under the skates
Top, maybe your vid fixed it for me
I was literally using a mouse with such a broken scroll wheel for a year, and all it took was to blow it correct direction ( under LMB ) under high pressure, thank You so much kek
(I was blowing with my lungs kek)
fixed it thank u.
Damn all this time with a wheel that didn't work when all you had to do was blow on it...
I had the exact same expression haha
ironically blowing with my mouth fixed it
thank you bro
Have they fixed this issue with the second version of the mouse?
No, unfortunately it is the same scroll wheel, as far as I saw
thanks
haha i used my mouth and it worked
SAME BRO
