Sucks may be a bit much as a description; don't get me wrong I still think is kits are are cool (I mean there are WAY worse kits in the line). For me, the kit just doesn't capture the Rex's same epic-ness from the show for some reason.

Delta Vortex it’s not bad, the problem was that the arms are too weak for the mace and and that’s almost it. Really you just need to modify it so it can hold the mace

The barbatos lupus 1/100 is actually good the weapon and the arms was the main problem
Io Frame is a great kit to paint too. The armor is mostly snapped on just the front of the frame and that helps new comers to painting by making it a lot easier to add on and not worry over seamlines

I ended up really liking Amida as a character, so after I finished watching IBO I really wanted to get her Hyakuren. I agree that the articulation on the kit is objectively bad, especially due to how Bandai handled the side skirting, but I don't see the lack of an inner frame to be a problem. I think part of what helps is that Amida's variant includes another rifle, so you can have it wielding both akimbo style with the knife mounted on the rear skirting for more of a fully-loaded look.
How is the kit holds up until now? I'm planning on getting one but I'm still not so sure
IMO the only true bad IBO kit was the 1/100 Gusion, that was a huge marketing mistake on Bandai's part

i can agree. I'd like to get a Gusion Rebake 1/100 (would prefer a Full City, but oh well) but I cant get it without paying for extra plastic I wouldn't ever use at all from the Gusion. It's not even HG where I could kit bash its parts with other grunt suits, it would just be forever in the box

In due time. AU shows tend to get there MG's slower then UC, and bandai has ramped down there total MG production as of late.
Still, the barbatos is a very popular suit so I'd wager we won't have to wait too long for an MG. Hell, we might get lucky and it will be a Ver Ka.
Yeah but IBO has been quite successful, in both JP and the west, like 00 and SEED it'll probably get MG's a bit faster, though itll probably just be the lead suits (Barbatos, Kimaris, Gusion, Bael)

You've got good taste, the Lupus is what got me back into gunpla after a decade, that thing is so sexy. Easily my favorite Gunda, and the swordmace is by far my favorite gundam weapon.

I don't like Zakus, or Gundams.
Surprised the HG Lupus Rex didn't make the worst, and i'm surprised Hyakuren got so low, I own it and i'm very happy with it. The only real problem I have with it is the balance due to the small feet, articulation services well for me, and it's got things like double jointed elbows which is something not often seen in IBO HG's.
ExtremeSManpig I personally dislike the face of the Hyakuren, the other Teiwaz suits weren't nearly as ugly.
It's design isn't not for everyone, but that's a subjective note, as a kit, I think it stands decently well.
I know, I'm just stating my personal issue.
The main problem is the lack of it being like the other IBO kits, it lacks a proper innerframe. I like the design and even painted mine silver. It would buy more of it if it fit in. Quite honestly I hate the route they went with many of their kits having no innerframe head, and the Teiwaz kits almost completely lacking an innerframe body. It just doesn't feel like an IBO kit.
ExtremeSManpig i actually liked the hg lupus rex as it can some how stand without a stand while one hand holding up its mace in the air,unlike its 1/100 ver,it had to thank the leg frame of the lupus tho for giving such a great balance tho

Barbatos Lupus was the first High Grade kit I’ve built and I loved it. Lupus is also one of my favorite Gundams as well, and probably my favorite Gundam from IBO.
I think the Graze Ein is a really good kit. Definitely worthy of being on the list.
I do have the hg Barbatos lupus and I gave it the love and care it truly deserves (That would mean getting MS option sets for the damn thing and weaponizing it for my taste). I can't believe that this kit was number one by your standards and I am amazed and proud. Look forwrd to your future videos soon.

Aww, I actually liked the design of the Gusion. I've never built any of the Gundam models, but it was just so unique and sturdy-looking.
Dilute a little white glue with water, and flow it into your kits' joints. Let dry, and then you will find it holds its poses much better. Polyurethane clear coat over the styrene parts works well too. Most of these kits can have hips, leg armor, shoulders, and even chests permanently cemented together without compromising one's ability to disassemble them later for painting or customizing, and I find cementing the hip parts strengthens the kit overall. I really liked the Hyakuri for its odd, sinister look and accessory clear stand (I scratchbuilt a clear stand from a plastic wine glass for the Man Rodi… a very easy tweak that greatly improves the look of the kit!). The series overall is notable for its many and varied colors of plastic, and I find myself very hard-pressed to paint them over. I enjoyed both forms of the second season Barbatos, but I would consider my collection, and any experience building the IBO kits, to be incomplete without the original Barbatos, rightly considered the flagship of the series.
No 1/144 or 1/100 grimgerde? It's pretty much the best from both lines from S1. I don't know why people are hating on the Hi res Barbatos either. It's not supposed to be anime accurate lol
Jorge Luis Juarez Really though, where is the Grimgerde? It takes small design ideas from other gundams and still stands out to a great design and kit. I have the 1/100 and nothing is wrong with it except maybe the shoulders get in the way sometimes
JayChuful yea it's such a wonderful kit, especially the 1/100 ver. It's price is amazing for the detail/accuracy. I think this video is a little poorly made and messy; basically rushed(no surprise). He should have done separate videos for HG's and 1/100's.

This video is Mecha's opinion so ours will be different admittedly. I for one can say I don't like Barbatos' legs(I own the OG model, not the lupus) since their angled like an animal (personal problem).

I agree that the hyakuren is a bit dissapointing but I really love its design and not having the full frame makes it super sturdy, I wish the graze wasn't so expensive these days I only find it for double its retail price

Also, I would have tied the 1/100 Grimgerde with the Vidar for second. That kit is also just brilliant. And with the matte injected finish, it looks perfectly presentable OOB.

To be honest, the last part when he goes full bersek mode is almost like he become that mobile armour especially when his Gundam make that sound that armour did! I was also slow to learn that Rex tail was the same one that armour had so for Mika to become a mobile armour isn't that suprising for me in the future.

Still with the variation that can come with different castings, kinda wonder if that was merely a case with his particular model. For example, my Maganac literally can't stand, it's left hip joint is looser than most people's grip of the english language.
I love IBO, and I loved the list; I'm curious whether this list reflects your thoughts on the ms in the show, or just the models themselves? Personally, I didn't like the man rodi until they gave it the Landman legs in s2, so I thought you might also have some changing opinions on ms throughout the series.
The space Man-Rodi is an ugly suit with an ugly scheme, but the Landman Rodi is one of my favorite suits. It's amazing what a fresh colour scheme and fixing one awkward piece can do for a mech.

Surprised to not see the 1/100 Grimgerde on here. That kit got a lot of praise when it came out. And when I got mine at B&N I was pleasently surprised. Probably the number 1 best value 1/100 kit i've built.

The 1/144 Grimgerde is my favorite, although I wish they gave it a visor or green sticker for the eyes so it looks like in the actual anime.

It seems that they fixed Lupus Rex's articulation in the restock. Mine can hold tightly its maze.

The 1/100 Grimgerde is still one of my favorite kits ever made. Can’t remember if you ever reviewed it but don’t think so. I highly recommend it. So far the only season 1 IBO kit I have that hasn’t become a floppy mess.
Actually, Attack On Vidar looks pretty neat. And man, I hope they do another series in the Post Disaster timeline.

i found the 1/100 graze to be a very fun build
i used posca silver on the inner fram then scratched the hell out of it with a file to give it a sweet battle damage look (my first paiinted gundam ever)
definately gonna pick up all the 1/100 ibo line

1.) Will there ever be a 1/100 Option set so we can get the Valkyria Buster sword for the Lupus?
2.) Why the 1/144 version over the 1/100?
1. Who can say? If theirs enough demand then sure, if not then no. Theirs currently no announced plans how ever.
2. The 1/144 is widely considered one of the best HG's bandai has currently made.
The second one is just a guess, his logic could have been very different.
MrFlunkorg price may have a bit to do with it also. It's a great kit for a complete beginner.

Akatsuki has so much potencial as character . Heartfull like Atrra and Merciless like Mikazuki at the same time
I've found (on my kit at least) that the side pieces that go on Vidar's backpack have a really hard time staying on, but other than that it's a great kit.
I'm still very disappointed with the 1/100 ASW-G-11 Gundam Gusion/Gundam Gusion Rebake kit. It's a huge waste of plastic and I don't know what they were thinking with this other than trying to get people to buy 2 sets of this.

actually those “meh” grunt ones are great if you paint them and add scars and battle damage. 👍 paint them till they look cinematically lifelike.
I just started collecting gunpla, and your videos have helped me decide on which gunpla I buy, at the moment I only have 2 high-grade gunpla - the graze kai and the rouei - but I am buying 2 more soon, I was going to go for the barbatos lupus high-grade but the place I buy gunpla from doesn't have it and if I buy it from anywhere else it could take upwards of 3 weeks to arrive :(

and yes! Barbatos lupus is the best form of barbatos, although it's weapon is only "mace sword", which is really a shame considering the first barbatos gets a shield, mace, and katana.

how was the Hi-Rez barbatos not on here? That kit is an absolute mess. head is out of proportion, none of the armor stays on and the joints are terrible.

I think MG #200 being ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos Form 4 is a good idea. I agree that if anyone thinks that Bandai has no plans to do MG kits for IBO *eventually* is quite misinformed; especially given how popular IBO has been and how well the HG kits have sold thus far.

I've got to disagree about the long range booster. It looks so good with a graze attached to it with those knee connections.
I personally like it. Just leave the long range alone and pose the barbatos besides it.

was surprised the reginlaze wasn't included. The side skirt armors, shoulder armor, the wrist along with the hands tend to pop off randomly along with the shields with a questionable mount. The rifle is good though if you got the nozzle to stay straight and firm
