    1. MG Barbatos - No other kit has a frame as nice

      As for the RG corner, I got but one: the Wing TV.
      It's like if the TV version of the original Wing Gundam got the Endless Waltz version of the Zero's wings. Sturdy articulation, beautiful silhouette, a kick-ass Buster Rifle, an actual transformation that doesn't make the Bird Mode look goofy, oh, and that shield, that beautiful opening shield...most I can fault it on is the foil strips on the ammo cartridges peeling off and falling. Otherwise, one beautiful Last Impression of the Wing series, looks great by the side of the other 4 HGs

      Another big honourable mention (in every sense of the word) should be the sazabi ver Ka, I've built a lot of kits (most ver ka save for the unicorn and the Thunderbolt one) and I still can't find a kit that tops this sazabi in sheer amount of detail and that costs less than a hundred, it's not even close, and the presence the kit has is really something else, even a basic walking pose looks intimidating

    Glad to see a few others have mentioned it in the comments, the MG Barbatos is one of the most fun builds I've done. The way the frame goes together and the moving parts such as pistons etc are an absolute joy.
    I'd also mention the RG Crossbone. I'm older than most gunpla builders and my hands aren't as steady as they used to be so the more complex smaller kits aren't always the best for me (I'm actually kinda nervous about messing up my RG hi-nu so I haven't built it yet) but the Crossbone is actually a really fun build that comes together pretty easily. You get a ton of cool, original looking weapons, and that beam cloak makes it look all edgy and badass just sitting there.

      I've got shaky hands when handling fine detail work an put off my Hi-Nu kit for a while too. That and the shear number of parts was intimidating. In the end it was a great build that I just took my time with and enjoyed tremendously

      @EvilRobotSteve Před rokem +2

      @@danielcarpenter4107 I've currently built the lower half (legs and waist unit) and the parts have gone together perfectly so far. Much like the RG Crossbone, the parts are small but dont feel overly fiddly or frustrating to line up and snap in. The number of parts is actually a plus for me, as I'm sadly running out off places to display my gunpla, so I may not be able to buy any more for quite some time. So I want to take my time and really enjoy what is potentially one of my last builds.

      @@EvilRobotSteve, displaying built models is going to start being a problem for me as well soon. I've mostly built HG kits (along with RG Hi Nu and RG Wing). I've got a couple of MG's on the way (RX-78-2 2.0 and GM 2.0). Hoping that building will help with my fine motor shakiness. I'm also going to build all of the entry grades as they're getting great reviews, are cheap and take up less room. I gave a EG RX-78 to a 8 year old for Christmas and helped him build it. RG Crossbone is the one and only gundam I've built so far, saw it at my local hobby shop for like 35 bucks and figured that I've watched enough videos and should try it myself. I thought it went together very well, and the stickers are pretty good/easy even for a beginner like me if you have the correct tweezers. thinking of picking up the RG nu gundam or the RG destiny gundam next.
      honestly the only thing keeping me from becoming a car model nerd was the lack of space to show them off, so these smaller 1/144 gundams are kinda perfect comparatively

    Great to see I have over half of these kits already built or in my backlog waiting to be built. If I had to throw my suggestion in to the ring though it would be the ZZ Ver. Ka purely on the basis of it's engineering. The sheer level of thought that has gone in to it's transformation aspects makes it a tricky but awesome build, My only criticism of it would be that it can't transform the arms with a normal pair of hands attached, but I've always loved how it can flip it's arms and legs inside-out to reveal boosters for the G-Fortress mode.

    One of the kits that I'll always recommend, don't ask me why, but the HG AGE-1 is amazing to play with, it's simple, it has a pretty defined shape, and it's solid as an HG can be.
    No v-fins to break, no pegs or polycaps to mess up, nothing. Just plain build, pose, enjoy godness.
    Also, mention, the MG AGE-1 is also amazing.

    Thanks for showing us these Gundam model kits! There are a lot of awesome Gundam model kits I want so very much. Out of the very few I have so far, Gundam Heavy arms and the two Demi Trainer variants are my top three favorites that I have at this time. I'm watching your videos to get some ideas for other Gundam model kits to consider getting someday. What I really want is to pick up a bunch of Zaku models, just enough to fill out a squad or two, preferably different variants with an assortment of weapons. I love building the model kits, and it helps a lot to see examples of what is out there, since I honestly just started my collection like maybe a year or so ago, and I didn't make the commitment to the hobby until recently.

    The HGUC Sinanju is my HG Moon, as I had to remind myself multiple times that it's an HG kit, and not to drool at the parts separation. The only thing stopping it from being for absolutely everyone is that the Sleeves markings are made using stickers. You can, of course, paint them on instead, but that's not a step a beginner gunpla builder would normally make. If I had to take just one aspect of the RG Sinanju to move to the other grades, it would be the gold-from-behind Sleeves markings, as they make it look pretty awesome -- but the RG Sinanju has such a bad reputation for how loose the joints become that I never bothered to pick it up. The high grade, though, is something I've built three times, including the Stein, and I'll make it a fourth with the Weiss when I get to it.

    • @MarvinT0606
      @MarvinT0606 Před 2 měsíci

      Mine's the HGUC Sinanju Stein. It's somewhere close to the details of an RG kit but is builder-friendly like all HGs. I got the RG Sinanju first. It's gorgeous but the hip parts give you a lot of grief. The HGUC Sinanju Stein is just as gorgeous but is actually enjoyable to build and pose

    • @MarvinT0606
      @MarvinT0606 Před 2 měsíci

      The RG Sinanju is strictly a display kit. You pose it, rig it with fine wires so the joints don't loosen and leave it alone. It's eye-candy but God help you when the booster panels start falling off😂

      I can agree with that from my experience. My first gunpla was a Mobile G Bolt. (Well, first in about two decades. Very first was an Epyon in the early 00s) I don't think they have grades back then but it was my favorite episode of the show and I got it for nostalgia's sake. Looking back I don't feel bad that I did a poor job because the build itself is very dated (seams on the lateral plane 😬) but also because I learned a lot about the craft in the process and it wasn't too expensive of a way to see if I like the hobby now. Now after a few HGs (Heavyarms and Deathscythe) I'm working on that thicc gal Aerial.

Also keeping and eye out for the RG RX-93 Nu Gundam to come back in stock locally. The Ver. Ka RX-93 Nu Gundam was actually one of my first Ver. Ka models that I purchased through a retailer from Japan back in 2017 (?). Definitely a lot of work, especially if you want to paint the parts, i.e. metallic gold on the yellow parts, such as the vents, v-fin, metallic colour on the joints, thrusters, pistons, etc. Which is what I did. At the end, it was TOTALLY worth it. I'm kind of hoping Bandai would release an updated MG / Ver. Ka God Gundam. Juuust bear in mind that if you get the ecopla version that the plastic can be difficult with clean up. It grips ever so slightly more than standard gunpla plastic would, and it’s just enough that it can make clean up damn near impossible without some small splotches of paint to correct. Jesus I just started building these again. I’m obsessed. I used to make hg as a kid and now I’m 30 and back at it! Wow these all look so good. I just built a Rg and now I have a mg Barbatos to build. I’m also accepting kit donations because this is making me insta poor 😂❤️❤️❤️
