@@peteglanton9259 That question can be ansewered with another question. Do you eat fish? If you do those fish are also killed, and often in a less ethic way than putting a spear or a knife through their head killing them instantly. Fish industry doesnt have time to kill them individually, so they just let them suffocate (if it feels like drowning its one of the worst deaths someone can have)

I used to spear in my teenage years at Forster Tuncurry, Ive still got my old seahornet magnum sitting in the cupboard, I was going to buy a new rubber for it but just ended up buying new everything.
I ended up getting a beuchat marlin evil railgun, float, float line, stringer, shark clips, mask, fins, hooded top and pants to save me getting fried, adreno should be happy with you.
I live across the road from a beach in Port Macquarie so why not get back into it.

I’m a scuba diver but I wanna start freediving and spear fishing
Do it man but go to a freediving course first, theres are a lot of dangers just like in scuba, but they are obv very different, and theres a lot of stuff to mentally and physically prepare yourself, but its so worth it

0:15 _GEAR_
You will need:
1. Mask.
- Black skirted mask reduces eye strain.
2. Snorkel.
- Spit out your snorkel before you dive.
3. Speargun.
4. Float and diver flag.
- Important for visibility. You're not the only one out in the ocean.
- Connected to speargun via rope. If you have a big fish, you let it go and let it drag the float.
5. Wetsuit.
- Keeps you warm in the water.
6. Weight belt.
- Counteracts buoyancy of wetsuit.
- Good rule of thumb for finding weight needed: completely exhale on surface, eyes should remain above water line.
7. Fins.
Should be free-diving fins (very long).
1:48 _TIPS_
1. DO NOT HYPERVENTILATE.
2. Do not point your speargun at anything you don't want to kill.
