Trains in the Foliage of Southern Maine - Railfanning Between Portland and Scarborough on 10/27/2023

On 10/27/2023, we would head for Winnocks Neck to start our day. There we would find Amtrak 684 on its way to Boston. We’d roll on towards Portland when we got word that L077 was making a run up the Mountain Branch, later catching them at Rand Road. Later on, we’d go back to Winnocks Neck after hearing about L063 and an unknown eastbound both on their way east. Before either train would show up, L080 would depart Rigby westbound and accelerate across the marsh. They would meet L063 in Saco. L063 showed up not long after that with a duo of EMD’s for power. The unknown eastbound would meet L080 at Wells, and then make their way towards Rigby. The eastbound ended up being an extra L080 from Lawrence, MA. They called as U080 and we’re headed for Rigby.
