For anybody wondering, the 1.01 patch increased the breathing volume. Scott then elaborated and said the breaths can have silence 2-4 seconds between each breath so not all people stay at the door long enough to register the breathing.
So he made it easier but also made in harder.Ok

and "can you hear me?". Michael was only a teenager, 14 at most. He didnt know what he was doing. This game not only represents Evan's problems and his nightmares, it represents Michael coming to terms with what he did. Each nightmare represents Evan's deepest fears, Foxy being the hidden one and the one thats the least seen because 1). Michael was always hiding and scaring his brother, and 2). Because Evan never wanted to fear his older brother.
GOD!!! the way Mark plays these games and the way Scott does the lore just hooks me in every time! Fnaf will always be a fandom i never want to leave.
When your 14 your in highschool...technically a young adult since you start working around that age and making your own money. Even though he didn't know the animatromic would kill his brother he still knew what he was doing was wrong! His age does not exscue what he did. Especially since he's in highschool!

Well it’s supposed to be the better ending since he was talking to the plushies about them being his friends and “fixing him” instead of watching the boys make fun of him and stick him in Fredbear
This is Evan, he was bitten in 83 when Michael Afton forced his head into fredbear’s jaws, this entire game is his dreams in a coma before his death, with the Fredbear plush at the end being an interpretation that Evan heard of Michael apologizing at his hospital bed, before the flatline when Evan died
That’s why they are nightmare animatronics: the kid is traumatized and having nightmares about these beasts that bit him being in his room.
Honestly the concept of Scott creating the fnaf storyline off of Mark's theories is a hell of a lot funnier than him just predicting it. This man is carrying the entire franchise.

Wait if you think about it, the music box mechanism never really disappeared or deleted. They just changed it into a new concept. I love how at if you wait long enough on foxy but not enough for him to roar, foxy just kinds sticks his head out the closet like "hey how ya doin-AA MY NOSE"
It's only after rewatching this series that I realize the gray text reading "can you hear me?" and "I'm sorry." was Michael apologizing to his litter brother before he died. We know that Michael is a compassionate person (much unlike his father) because of what he did in sister location and later pizzeria simulator. He was probably just being mean because he didn't understand why his brother didn't like the animatronics, especially since his favorite toys where plushies of them. Also,if my father figure was Afton I probably wouldn't be the most well adjusted person either. His brother die because of his actions must have been really hard for him to live with. Come to think of it, he practically jumps at the chance for redemption when Afton tells him to go to the sister location, despite knowing he may die going there.
I saw a theory that since William was the one who made Evan/Chris/CC hallucinate and fear the animatronics so much, he probably further encouraged Michael to traumatize him, Michael just never meant to actually hurt his brother.
I like to think that William afton used to be a good person but one that mentally can’t handle sadness, cause after his wife left him and daughter died I like to think that the crying child and michael were the only ones keeping him remotely sane and when the crying child died that’s when he snapped completely

something cool ive noticed ab some of the jumpscares:
in the other games, when you play as an adult, the animatronics usually just get in your face when they jumpscare you, right? but in this game, when you play as a little kid, the animatronics here seem to grab onto you, and in one case (nightmare freddy) he manages to lift you in the air. i just think its neat whether or not that was intentional, bc it really sells the idea of you being small and easily manhandled by everyone. idk just a cool detail :))

Regarding the animatronics being stopped by doors - what if it's because he was always forced to view them face-to-face, powerlessly whenever his brother bullied him, but the only time he wouldn't physically interact with them is behing closed doors? Cause no one's pushing him onto the animatronics or stuff, but he's in control of his space - kinda thing?? Idk lol I could be dead wrong
Honestly putting it like that it just a more horrific extension of making sure you pull the blanket over your head and feet so the monsters won’t get you. Exactly what a poor frightened kid would do.

ive been binging marks fnaf series for the past few days as background noise while i animate, draw, and right now as im writing my own story. 8:25 came up and i paused my writing and went to watch it. its never meant too much to me, but for some reason, watching it right now, today, it just hits hard. its really fuckin sad if you think about it. the animatronics who were hunting him the nights leading up to his birthday party never meant to harm him. it was all nightmares. the fredbear plushies "speech" hit really hard.
"we are still your friends. do you still believe that?"
ow. just, ow. after everything this kid has been through, the constant nightmares, the bullying, the bite, fredbear still wants him to know that he is with him through everything. that they really never had intentions to hurt the kid, but the kids nightmares made it seem like they were out to get him.
the flatline was really fucking depressing too like..he was really young. and it was his birthday...this whole scene hurts my soul and its 12:30 in the morning and i am just getting motivation to write about this and share my thoughts and why this is so depressing to me like oh my god
